It had been at least 7years since I stayed here and wow has it aged!!! Firstly, we had to wait 20 min sometimes longer for the elevator; I'm pretty sure 1 out of 4 was actually running! This wait was every time we had to go down to the lobby or back up, it got frustrating. Our room didn't have a view (which wasn't a problem) but at 8 am a group of men were working directly outside our window.... more
At West Edmonton Mall Perfect for a get away. Theaters, Nite Clubs, Casino, Water Park , You cant help but be entertained
That is just a start. The web site picture of the theme room we picked had not been updated, so the first thing we had to do is appease our disappointed children that there was no bed shaped like an igloo. The 'luxury jacuzzi' tub looked like it came over on the Mayflower and was installed so crooked, the kids kept sliding to one side. The carpet looked like it hadn't been shampooed in so long,... more
my stagette, and I very much enjoyed the hot tub and excellent themed room. The room we were in was the Roman Room. The room was clean, and had everything we needed (glasses, coffee maker, fridge, etc.). I didn't like the early checkout, but that's normal for any hotel.
The rooms are very nice and clean, the beds were really comfortable. I am not sure what is wrong with their elevators, but the wait for an elavator was crazy, at some times we had to wait over 15 minutes for an elevator. For a twelve story hotel, that is way too long to have to stand and wait to go up or down. If you want to shop until you drop it is an awesome place to stay. There is lots to... more
The hotel is nice. We received a free upgrade upon our arrival. It is very convenient to stay at the fantasyladn when visiting WEM, especially in the winter months. The mall and hotel do need a make-over though. It is somewhat dated and could use a new look. Other than that we loved our stay.
Our stay at the Fantasyland Hotel in Edmonton was an absolute delight. Since the Hotel is located in the West Edmonton Mall, we didn't have to go out in the cold except to get the shuttle back to the airport. Having so many shops, restaurants and bars under one roof was great. The Water park, Rink, Sea Lions, minature Golf, Bowling gave us plenty to keep busy. Our room was spacious, clean and... more
If you really want a good mall within the City of Edmonton, don't go to this mall, go to Kingsway Garden mall. It has a great variety of stores and the prices are much better by comparison. If your looking for a great hotel to stay at don't stay here either, they are fleecing you for a mediocore room. Go to the hotels in downtown Edmonton. Even the locals avoid this mall!
i was very excited to visit the well known mammoth of a mall, since i was 13 i had thoughts of visiting it. i moved from mississauga, ontario, and must i say ... that the smaller mall in 'sauga called Square One was a TON more useful than this overly large yet somehow still lacking giant. It's missing a ton of good stores so i still have to run around afterwards, and it takes forever to walk... more
the theme rooms are nice, they seem to be helpful at front mainly cause they want all the rooms filled for maximum profit so they will give discounts, but the cleaning is horrible, found cigarette butts under bed, tables were not cleaned just dusted with dry cloth sheets were previously used, the jacuzzi seemed to be quickly wiped down with windex. i have been a cleaner for 10 years worked in... more
We had purchased tickets for Celine Dion a year in advance and planned on staying at the Fantasyland Hotel. Ended up booking rooms for two nights a couple of months in advance. We advised the reservation clerk we would be arriving late in the evening and were assured the room reservation was guaranteed. Upon arriving at the hotel 11:30 PM we were pretty much left in the dark for 20 minutes as... more
we were there as our children booked a thyme room for our ann now i want to try and book them a room for a great time and great dealthey will love it i know
Thank you Skoosh for saving me $380.00 , money well spent in the mall. I had read that the rooms on the 6,8,& 12th floor had been renovated so I requested in advance a room on the 6th floor. We arrived in Edmonton to -53 a little chilly for this Vancouver Island gal. The lobby was clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely, 2 cozy Qn beds, flat screen, fridge, huge tub in... more
Check in at 4 o'clock is late to use 2 complimentary attraction tickets. Additional tickets to Waterpark are $16.00 ea( only if you ask ). Family pass to Waterpark to available public is 94.00 for family of four. Convenience of immediate accesss to mall is not worth the extra $100.00 for a room of similar standard. Another hotel is in mall. Positives- they will hold your luggage free of charge... more

This is a great hotel to stay at for a weekend of shopping. The room was very nice and clean, the staff was helpful, valet was great because finding a parking stall was not easy with so many people shopping for christmas. There were a lot of extra little expenses, valet was $12 per day, plus tip each time he parked or picked up the car which...

The room was clean. The jacuzzi was great. We even made a friend with a member of the housekeeping staff. But, the fantasyland hotel is nothing but a gimmick. Like another reviewer said, it's a has been. The little details of paint work and bad installations of fixtures got on my nerves, but maybe that's just me. The brass rails and light fixtures did look cheap. On one evening of our stay,... more
fantasy land hotel is fantastic. it is great for all ages. for kids there are the really fun attractions like the water park and galxy land, and while the kids are enjoying there selfs there you can go out and have a nice shop or a nice meal. with great places to eat like tony romas and boston pizza, you will think im never going to get full i will eat and eat because its so nice. you would... more
stayed in this hotel for a confrence in 11/06, nice atmosphere, helpful staff, great shopping of course, the theme rooms are kind of small but the regular rooms are huge. Good price overall.
My boyfriend and I spent a night in a western room. the room was clean, it had 2 bunk beds and a queen or double. There was a great hot tub in the room and the bathroom was big with an outside basin too. Basically it had everything we needed.eg tv, iron, hairdryer, coffee, room service. I would stay here again, in fact I plan too when I return next month. It's in the mall too, what could be... more
I liked the place because of the cool themes and the great service and it was so fun!I also liked it because the place was clean, the ones I did was the truck one, the western one and the igloo!
The theme room (Igloo) was fantastic. The kids loved it and it was a great setup for a family with bunk beds for the kids, the whirlpool and easy access to the mall. Unfortunately the service was poor and we couldn't make it to the waterpark which was supposed to be a highlight of our stay. We waited and received no acknowledgement at check-in. We had to hunt down a luggage cart ourselves, and... more
This was an awsome place to stay! It had great service, and the beds were more comfortable than mine at home, I even asked where they got their beds, and got one myself! The location was perfect, although we did have to start all over each day of shopping. teehee. The staff who work there are very kind, and respectful. I would give them 5 stars for their great service, excellent rooms, and... more
For the price the rooms are not worth it. The Superior room is small, no jetted tub, small bathroom with no fan, had a view out the window of the 3rd floor roof-No view at all. The Service is good, but the In room dining food is not what you pay for. Had network problems when renting In room movies, and unable to pause the movies or save for later like you can in the Delta Hotel.
when i hear about it's one of the best hotel in north america,i cound'nt stop myself from laughing...in what way? service was poor, toilet cover does'nt stay up,pile of water on the floor after each shower, water drips all night, tiles are falling apart...totally dated and lack of maintenance, worse of all..receive no greeting or smile when checking in and out.will never go back until they received... more
While touring Alberta we decided to spend our first night at this hotel. After spending the evening in the mall, we came back to our room to find the toilet 'bubbling' and throwing water over the floor. It took over and hour to get a response from the maintenance people and then a further half hour for the front desk to get us into another room. This allowed 5 hours sleep before hitting the... more
it stinks: the service is horrible the avalibility is bad and the food is disgusting I 'm never staying there again! The beds are lumpy and the maids never ever come.
Service was good and view is amazing and the rooms r romantic and it looks like you are in fantacy world actually really romantic place when you have your partner with you.
i liked the place because it actually gives you your fantasy. the have really clean room there service is great i would love to go back there. i would visit the place over and over again that place always keeps you busy there is nothing boring about at all.
