Food was really good for a chain pizza restaurant
We were feeling adventurous and decided to go by Famoso on Commercial. I love walking in the front door because there... more
Nicest most helpful staff! The service is truly wonderful. Very family friendly. So accommodating to little ones! Food is super tasty and fast. Best casar salad!!
It was great to see the pizza master in action. Overall, the quality of every plate was excellent. I never ate at... more
Famoso hosted an evening with world-renowned Neapolitan pizza chef Roberto Caporuscio. On his first visit to... more
Have to admit to being a Lombardo's fan for authentic pizza, but was unimpressed my last visit - seriously lacking flavour. So I thought I'd do a search for other pizzeria's on Commercial. Was really impressed with Famosa! Had the margherita pizza and tapenade trio. So delicious, an array of flavours with both. Woke up the next morning craving more - seriously. Yum. And the service was... more
Amazing!!!! Great service and food. Mozzarella balls! Yum
I love coming to the city and stopping in here. Great food and staff! Always welcoming, great patio, fresh and authentic. Get there!
I should never have a layer of "juice" under my ENTIRE pizza. Nuff said
Weak pizza...maybe good if you do not care about a "franchised taste", some toppings from a can, however a nice place, friendly staff...Across the St Marcellos has better pizza but gross service.
Are you craving a little taste of Italy? If so this is the place to go! Yummy fire oven, fall off the crust thin pizza. Everything is imported from
Really stupid ordering style, cafeteria cattle style, o-boy cafeteria food! High prices and help yourself. The waitress (this place has no service and over service (!?)) we had was uninformed, full of forced dialogue and seemed to assume we had never heard of pizza/Italy before, in 'Little Italy'!
Great friendly service, fantastic pizza and awesome atmosphere!
Price is fair and the service is good. Nice cozy environment and good music. My favorite pizza is PRIMAVERA, and the SALTED CARAMEL PANNA COTTA really just melted my heart away.
Naples (Italy) is famous for many historically significant sites and discoveries. It's where you can find the remains of the great ancient city of Pompeii, and Vesuvius, the large glacier that rammed into the city in1473 A.D., forcing most inhabitants to relinquish their homes and move to New York.
This place has become our go-to for Neapolitan. Pizzas have that great crunchy yet chewy crust, sauce is simple Italian tomatoes & the fresh mozzarella has a great creaminess. Love the casual counter ordering & the friendly service that follows. Great prices & and a delicious wine list.
Okay, so we were initially confused about their service, but once you order your pizza, it's quite an easy task! Write it on the paper provided and go up to the front and order! No biggie!
Awesome place for vegan neapolitan pizza.
Stupid ordering system. Margherita pizza has basil as an afterthought. I thought I'd never see shaker Parm again, but apparently it lives on. However, service is friendly, prompt and kind. Wine list is balanced, but limited. Won't come back as there's better pizza to be had. Too bad though, as the staff here are a caring bunch. Alberta-based chains are not a good concept outside of AB.
Pretty good and really nice atmosphere. I have to say considering it's right across the street from Marcello's it definately beats it foodwise. I had the bbq chicken pizza and the dough is great and good flavor but wth where is my cheese? I know it's a different style of pizza but the chicken and cheese was definately almost nonexistent. It was however, overloaded with tons of chopped tomatoes... more
My friends and I went to Famoso last night after the hockey game :( hoping to cheer up with some good food and drinks. I love the vibe of Commercial Dr. but have never found really good food there at a decent price. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to explain their service style and how Neapolitan pizza is different (I've had it before but my friends hadn't). The... more
Checked out the newest italian restuarant on the drive as Marcellos has left a bitter taste in my mouth over the years (poor service, high prices). Famoso has a great atmosphere and interior, the staff is very friendly. The pizza is good but not authentic. Salad was nothing special. Gelato was very good. The fact that you have to go up and order your own food is very confusing and kinda defeats... more
