While visiting Kitchener, we wanted to try Italian food and Googled local restaurants, settling on this one based on its ranking and some reviews, as well as past experience from their first location many years ago. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. First, it was a hot evening, around 515pm, and the restaurant was too hot, although later they corrected this by cooling the place down.... more
Exceptional service and atmosphere - we frequent this Restaurant on many occasions as well as the waterloo location. We have NEVER been disappointed with the food or service at either location. We had reservations for Saturday at 7 while it wasn't at capacity I would highly recommend a res for a high traffic night. We always get the pazzo bread to start which is a great starter - I never leave... more
This place was great. I like that the pasta entrees come with a small side salad and fresh bread. The oil they give to dip the bread in is delicious.
I ordered the mushroom and bacon carbonara. My only complaint was that it was extremely salty. I ended up not eating most of the bacon just because it was so salty! Other than that, it was really good.
Wow, some people must have visited on an off night- we were there last night & had the Aglio Et Olio (called Aglio Olio on the menu) with "seared scallops". We shared the entree & it was delicious- was just the right amount - very generous servings with big scallops.
The service was good, & the waitress had no problem...

My son and I dropped in for dinner on a Wednesday night and were expecting a good meal based on the number of people who were at the restaurant. However, we were disappointed.
While the food is intended to be "authentic Italian", I found it to be more in the style of a diner that serves "Canadian Italian" food. I...

A nice Italian family run restaurant. Classic Italian dishes served in a comfortable environment. Excellent for dining in or take out. They even sell jars of their home made meat sauce! Overall an excellent establishment.
I work in the area so i have been here quite a number if times. I always enjoy it. I have seen Ennio there occaisionally, but usually its his wife & daughter that are there.
I went with a friend and client the other day and the food is as good as it always is. We spoke to Rosa and gave her our condolences since Ennio had just passed away and very unexpectedly. My friend and I both had salad and he had carbonara and I had spaghetti and meatball. ( only 1 meatball for... more
Don't mind the outdated decor, food is excellent and service was A1! My ravioli tasted like heaven and my friend's linguine was superb! Portions were good but left no room for dessert as they bring you a great salad to start. Will happily go back on my next business trip!
Four of us decided to go for a quick meal and dropped into Ennio's on Fairway Rd around 5:45 PM. We were sure on a Friday it would be jammed but they had a few tables free and we were seated promptly. It seemed Rosa, the boss was as busy as ever. After being seated our waitress asked if we... more
We had dinner here on Sunday March 9th, 2014.
When we arrived and we were greeted and seated at our table promptly. Our waitress introduced herself and ask about being served a beverage. She used good customer service skills. Our friends arrived and the waitress took their drink orders and then allowed us time to chat and catch up. Our...

A few friends and I decided to go out to Ennio's tonight (Sunday), I double checked the hours and it said they were open till 9pm. We arrived a little after 8, the restaurant still had customers eating and the open sign was on. Once we were seated our waitress came to the table and we all got the feeling... more
The menu and place look fancy. But really disappointed in the taste of the food.
We ordered pizza, Risotto and some plate which i don't remember.
None of them were good. And the food is quite pricey. Won't go back again.
We treated my sister and her husband to dinner at Ennios last night. I was really looking forward to a great meal of authentic pasta - unfortunately that is not what we got. The caprese salad was the only thing good about our entire meal (and the wine too - $32 for a $15 bottle of Masi but you expect... more
We recently had a marvelous dinner at Ennios Fairway Rd. in Kitchener. We all agreed that it was one of the best Italian meals we have had outside of Italy. However, we ordered a certain bottle of wine that was $32.00 and we even pointed to it on the menu to ensure that we rec'd this particular Masi wine. It... more
My husband, daughter and I enjoyed an absolutely splendid lunch at Ennio's. Our pasta and veal parm sandwich meals were delicious. The service was warm and friendly. The ambiance was perfect for a rainy afternoon with beautiful classical music as the background to our conversation.
Give this gem of a restaurant a try and you won't be disappointed.
I'm completely surprised and saddened by the negative reviews - we have been coming to Ennios's since our grown children were small and have enjoyed many, many wonderful meals. Rosa (the owner) always makes us feel at home, and all of the staff we have dealt with over the years have been wonderful as well. My boys always order the... more
The reviews on here must be a reflection of the quality of food in Kitchener. For context I travel extensively and as a result I eat at a lot of restaurants at multiple price points. To set the stage, we paid $100 for two entrees a wine and beer. My wife and I had two traditional dishes i.e. veal. There... more
Horrible food... When there for the first time and We were very disappointed… being European couple we know how real European/Italian food supposed to taste like... Food that we received was from a microwave... Staff was extremely rude… and it was just unbearably hot in the restaurant… overall biggest waste of money ever... As one of the previous comments said... more
Found by accident on a weekday afternoon the atmosphere was dead but the food and drink more than made up for it. Homemade Italian dishes with homemade portion sizes.
My wife and I just ate here on a weeknight and had a great experience. There were only a handful of people in the restaurant when we got there around 830, so it felt like I had rented out the whole restaurant. My wife has a gluten allergy and the server was very accommodating and knowledgable about food recommendations for... more
Good service, nice atmosphere, wonderful food.
We've eaten at the Waterloo location a number of times but this was our first visit to the Kitchener restaurant. My husband and I both have menu favourites - Carbonara and Mafalda Rustica. We were not disappointed - creamy, rich and calorie-laden. Such a treat! We started with Ennio's version of Caesar salad and...

that the best homemade food, in Kitchener, would be found in a strip plaza.
My husband wanted a bowl of spaghetti and I immediately logged into trip advisor to look for Italian restaurants in Kitchener. I read the reviews of this restaurant and we drove to Kitchener on a leap of faith. In the past we had gone to many...

Located in a strip mall on a busy street, Ennio's was a pleasant choice for lunch. It's peaceful environment and cheerful efficient service is a delight compared to all the chains with loud set-level music and TV sports that line the street. Great pasta!
A beautiful restaurant where you can entertain your family, friends or business clientele and know they will enjoy the atmosphere,, decor, food and wine...great service.....good prices!
Love it! And so will you!!

My husband and children took me here for my Birthday dinner this past weekend. It's a lovely little place with nice service and great food. Will definitely be back.
The food is always fresh and dellicous at Ennios. They always aim to please and usually they do! The restaurant is very clean and the waitress was very helpful as well.
We go every Thursday and often have our favorites, Bambino pizza and Frutta de Mare. Great service, even better food. When you have Ennio's withdrawals, you know you're hooked. :-)
Even with the most basic pasta dish the flavour is well above average, including the Gluten free pasta which is well prepared (unlike many other places). The servers are generally smiling and friendly though they sometimes appear a little rushed. The best visits are the ones when Rosa is working because she makes sure you feel welcome.
i have been to ennios multiple times and on most occassions the food is exquisite and the service is above average and the servers and hosts are rather pleasant. however on this trip myself and friends were in disbelief of one of the servers. while walking to the washroom there was a server basically laying on the counter complaining how... more
We eat at the Ennio's in Kitchener about once a month. We like to see Rosa's the owner and we enjoy the food. The pasta is great and the my son loves their pizza. Excellent place to eat.
Whether it be their Fairway Road, Kitchener Location or King Street North, Waterloo Location.
For lunch, pasta, a sandwich or wrap.
For Supper...definitely pasta!

Rosa and Ennio - Good people! I enjoy eating here!
The ambiance is very good , the food excellent and the service is above average.

I adore Italian food, and this is by far the best outside of Italy.
Everything there is handmade with care and experience. Their selection of pizza and pasta is truly remarkable, and I have yet to try something there that wasn't delicious.

Tonight I looked through their online menu hoping to find something that adheres to my strict dietary restrictions. I was thrilled when I found the 'Col Pesto' Pasta, made with rice noodles. Wow... my wife and I were craving pasta while we were in town... I find that food in Kitchener typically quite horrible.

Went here twice for Christmas Ladies Night, a bit pricy But the food was very good :) Would be a very good place for a date for that special someone ;)
I ordered pineapple juice there. It was old and rotten I am sure. It tasted like a root beer and looked quite darker than the usual lemon color of pineapple juice. what is worse is that I am pregnant now! The staff did not even aologize for it. Unbelievable.
I eat at Ennio's on a regular basis and the food and service are always excellent. It is located in a strip Mall but don't let that deter you since once inside the atmosphere is friendly and the food is great. If you love Italian food this is the place to eat in Kitchener.
Pasta is great, dessert is like they just unthawed an M&M meats box. Don't bother with it. Service is ok if you don't get Ennios wife. She stands outside in the day at the front smoking (just doesn't look good). If she serves you she tends to argue with you about what you ordered when she brings the wrong item-which... more
Love the pasta and the service is great!
I always finish my meal with the Bread Pudding for dessert.
The original Ennio and wife host you at theFfairway Road location. His fresh made sauces are a delight. The baked lasagna is the best in the area.Have orderedit take away for entertaining at home. Great Place.
We've been there many times and have never been disappointed! "Mrs. Ennio" is there most nights.
Very pleasant greeting and prompt seating. Service was attentive and efficient, but not really friendly.
Pasta servings were large and well prepared (flavorful)
Most Appetizers priced around $ 10. $ 20 for antipasta platter ( for 3)
Pasta entrees $ 18 to $ 22 includes Italian salad and bread.
Did not try desserts.
I love pasta and I love this place!
Although my last visit wasn't that good, Friday nights are usually busy so our orders came after waiting for more than an hour. We were really hungry, we ate past 9 in the evening :(
So if you are coming here on a Friday, arrive a little early.
This is the best chicken parm with penne that I've had. Amazing flavor and the portion is huge. It's definitely enough for 2 meals. Reasonable prices too.
Serving homemade style pastas. Good service, and reasonable prices. We have never been disappointed with the service, or the meal.
Too bad the food is so great because the service is consistently horrible. Don't bother with dessert. Big prices for poor portions.
We have been to this restaurant many times but tired the Trout for the first time and found it excellent.
Hi Ennio !! Great PASTA , always great food and service, family owned business... more
was told best italian food in k dub area... overpriced.. seafood pasta had very little seafood.. penne arrabiatta was not spicy as it should be... was mild... serving station near us was dirty, cheese spilled on carpet was never cleaned up. and when we asked for water, they used a jug that was sitting there.

The food was excellent, no complaints. I had the Mafalda Rustica, and my companion had the Cappelletti and both were fresh tasting and delicious. So my first time to this Ennio's location and I would say overall it was a success. Like the previous reviewer my Sprite tasted really weird, it wasn't flat but it was definately off. Very nice. Homemade Italian food made on the spot.
Really, a 3.5 (downgraded primarily because of service and funky tasting water and sprite!).
This restaurant, Ennio's, was recommended to us by two different locals who had not talked to one another prior to giving the recommendation! It was described as a restaurant that serves authentic Italian.

We like Italian food, this is a nice "new" Italian restaurant close by that we are familiar with, so we come here every few months.
Every time we come here, why do I keep having to ask myself: "What's with the off-the-shelf dinner rolls served with dinner?" They aren't even Italian, let alone "bread." It's so "low-budget" it's moved me...
