Worst service ever!!! From the manager to the servers. Service is not commensurate to the price of the food! Expensive and yet lousy service. Not coming back here again! I'll also tell my friends.
I came here for dim sum the other day because I had heard lots of great things about this restaurant. Needless to say, I ended up disappointed.
When I showed up around 12:30pm on a weekday, I was surprised to see that it seemed super busy. The hostess was scrambling to find tables for everyone and it seemed like she could use some help. We were told we had to wait until 1:30pm to get a table...

Very solid traditional Cantonese-style cuisine with comfortable seating and very fast service.
Some highlights:
1. Stir fried sweet and sour beef tenderloin: very tender slices of beef in a tangy and sweet Peking sauce over shredded onions.
2. Stir fried pea shoots with mushrooms: Tender pea shoots sautéed with button, shitake, and golden mushrooms. A great veggie dish!
3. Stir fried tofu with...

Came here for a family dinner with a group of 6 and I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The decor of the restaurant is brightly lit and tasteful for a high(ish)-end Chinese restaurant.
We ordered the 6 person set meal priced at $168 and comes with Fish Maw Soup, Peking Duck both ways, Lobster in consomme, Eggplant with waygu beef, stir fry fish with vegetables, Fried rice. We also...

Was in Vancouver in June. We asked friends to recommend a Chinese restaurant to go to and ended up here. Went for brunch on a weekday and found it very good. We wanted to go back on a Saturday morning and went there at about 10:30 am and it was too busy already! Had to find another place to go.
Good dimsum at this place, though it's definitely more expensive than the out of the way locations like East River or Cindy's Palace. Interesting to note that the congee here is huge and is definitely enough to fill two people so it's a great choice if you're looking for non-rice fillers!
The cold plate appy was promising, That was only one of the two things that stood out.

Honestly, I doubt I'd come here for dinner again. Too many inconsistencies and a terrible fried rice. Maybe dim sum.
Dim sum here is very different in all their flavors than I am used to. The only thing I cared for was the beef balls and har gowout of all our dishes. Fancy decor, feels like a hotel but still very loud when its full. A bit pricey but portions are large.
The food were good, but not especially great. Especially considering all the great food in the same area. Part of the reason seems like they did not have enough servers. Most of the food arrive warm, but not hot. (Maybe left waiting to be picked up and cooled down through the process?) Love the dessert, but slightly on the warm side as well.
While the food is alright, service is where I...

This restaurant is my family's favourite place to go. We go around 9 am and order about 7-8 dishes from no 1to 39 on the menu. There are more items available after 10am which I haven't tried yet. Staff are helpful and service can be hit and miss at times. I don't like it when servers take condiments away. We like all of their sauces including blackbean sauce and hot sauce.
I love most of their...

Food here is ok as well. Not a high end restaurant quality food. But they have the usual food and reasonable price. Best part is they have free parking in a parking lot that is shared by London Drugs.
Staffs are tentative but again it really depends where you sit too. Service is hit and miss at times.
They do have specials like the Peking Duck special but you have to do the math and not all...

I like this place! Liu Sha Bao is better than any other dims places that I've been to! Service is good too
The food here is pretty decent. I think it got better over time. Last year when I came, it was just too oily and salty. This time it didn't have that problem. It is a pretty standard affair - I liked their deep fried tofu and deep fried spicy squid. The shrimp paste with eggplant was pretty decent as well - big portion and tasty. I thought their shrimp and scallop dumplings were ok but not as... more
One of my favourite place for Dim Sum in Richmond: Variety of choices and stable taste after several visits --- very busy before 11 am since it offers 20% discount for early birds.
Tried many places in Richmond area for some top notch chinese food while here on vacation, I have to say this one is the best! Came here several times for dim sum, almost everything is just about perfect. Much better than what's available in Houston I'm sorry to say. For dinner, should have tried one of the dinner for two since it was just my husband and I, and each dish was just enormous and... more
I had the 11 course set dinner and it was dinner with out of town relatives.
The waiter told us that they ran out of roasted pig, so we were substituted with a seafood appetizer that consisted of arctic surf clams, jellyfish, salmon sashimi and fish seaweed rolls - there was a generous amount for each item, and it was good, but nothing amazing.
Braised dried oyster and conpoy (dried scallops)...

We came here for a birthday dinner and had the most disappointed experience.
On a Friday night there were only 5 tables at 7pm, there were 3 managers, 3 servers and 2 waiters and cashier working.
It took us 10 minutes to flag down a manager to place our order, the other people walking around never made eye contact.

In a city teeming with competition for Chinese restaurants, this place is surprisingly ungood. The décor is quite nice, relatively upscale, but the dim sum we had was remarkably iffy. Among the usual dishes such as har gow and sticky rice, we had the halibut, (awful), shark fin soup (iffy) chicken knees (marginal). It's possible we caught them on an off day, but it's hard to go back and give... more
Poor and horrible service from the reception especially for a small group. The lady just told us not to wait because they were too busy to accommodate small group and not even asking if we would like to wait and it was just 10:30 in the morning. We'll never consider to visit this restaurant at all.
The staff were very quick and attentive. Unlike most dim sum restaurants, this one is well lit and the many windows you get a nice view even though it's just the skytrain you'll be staring at. It was on the noisy side, the the acoustics might need some work.
Maybe I was there on an off day, but the quality of the food seemed to be iffy:
The shrimp dumpling skin was too thick and was...

Dim sum and then some. It was good and thankful to have gotten a reservation because the wait on a sunday morning was absolutely insane.
Went for dim sum with the bf and only issue was that food came out slow but it's because it was so fresh. It didn't sit in a cart all morning for you to come pick it out but all the food seemed to be made once ordered. Ordered sticky rice, beef balls, baked bbq pork bun, deep fried pork dumplings and beef rice roll. Loved the bbq pork bun and rice roll the best.

I live upstairs in the apartment building above Empire and always see that it's busy day and night so I finally made it down there for dim sum.

My family and I went for dim sum and we were amazed at how big the portions were. The food tasted great abd the restaurant looked clean as well, big bonus!
I was here for a wedding dinner and couldn't believe shark fin soup was on the menu. I wish I had walked out but I stayed for the subpar food. Wait staff was pleasant but shark fin is unforgivable.
We ordered seven dishes, out of several were the best versions of that dish I've ever had (pan fried turnip cake, stirfried eggplant with beef tenderloin, and bao stuffed with chicken and ginger), and two were unlike anything I've had at dim sum before and truly stunning. Those two would be the rice roll with crispy pork and a deep... more

Hot appetizers is still frozen at the core. Fish dish is tasteless. All six dishes are substandard. Serve only tables that order king crabs. Rating should be less than one star.
I have always come to Empire Seafood for family dinner. The food never disappoint me. The Alaskan King Crab cooked into 3 different ways (Steamed Leg, Deep Fried, and Fried Rice on its Shell) by far is my favorite. Other foods are excellent too. The restaurant interior is very nice too, and it is recommended to invite your guest.
I visited this restaurant twice last week.
First one, we (two of us) were sitting close to where many of the servers would come to get some items. However, I felt like flagging them was not even enough to get attention from them and seemed like I wasn't there at times.
It was frustrating at times. I am used to...

Tea is quality here it's just a shame there isn't consistency of quality of the dim sum. This is a very popular dim sum restaurant that I've been to a couple of times and you definitely need reservations. Good/average food and service for a seafood restaurant to have a dinner
O.K. food. Noting extra ordinary.
Not a very exiting place to eat.
While Empire might have what is considered delicious Dim Sum in most other parts of North America, in Richmond it is merely average. Located across the street from popular rival Kirin (yelp.com/biz/kirin-seafo…), Empire typically gets some of their spillover crowd when they've decided they can't wit any more and want to pay less. Empire is just perfect for that.

I attended a banquet and it was amazing. This used to be a Milestones and has been completely renovated. The interior is elegant.
