Old and in need of reno. Not what I would expect from Econolodge.
when we checked into the room it was the worst smell we have ever smelt the lady at the counter was kind enough to change our room for us and give us a bottle of Frebreeze...helped a bit but the hallway still smelled really bad
by Paul (from Toronto, ON) August 2010 - A friendly welcome, well-located for restaurants, 5 minutes from beach, reasonable price.
We went to Casino Rama and downtown Orillia is full of road contruction! The beach area is small but clean, the whole area needs a major make-over. We took a boat ride on the lake, which was nice and the captain was very informative! All in all we were a little disappointed in our trip!
by (from ) July 2010 - We checked out the next day , The internet shows the hotel lookingfresh and clean. It smells like cigar smoke even in the nonsmoking rooms.
by Robert (from Forest Ontario) May 2010 - At least it was a place to sleep for the night. Would not likely stay there again and would not recommend it to friends or family. It really could use some work. The ceilings and drapes were water stained. The room and hallways did not smell fresh or clean. Bedding was wrinkled and the pillows were practically flat.
by Tracey (from Temagami) April 2010 - We stayed here recently , not sure if we would again. The check in time was late and the girl at the desk a bit unprofessional. The room was not clean, dirty mirrors, hot tub was dirty, and the taps were falling apart. The room had beautiful potential but has not been cared for or cleaned properly. The bathroom door had a big fist hole through it , it had a... more
we had the ground floor room and the ground was poorly maintained at this time, it was such sunny but icy on the ground, dangerous for guests and staff to go into the rooms from the vehicle.other than that it was o.k.
by George (from Bolton, Ontario) November 2009 - Staying here for one night while going to show at Casino Rama. Shuttle to and from the casino was comfortable and on time. Nice breakfast spot just up the street. Overall a very nice experience.
by Bryan (from cobden, Ontario) August 2009 - The price was right & the service was good. Very clean. The only thing I was disappointed in was that there was know shuttle bus to the casino.
by (from ) July 2009 - Obliging staff saves this hotel ....the staff is great and works hard to please!
by terry (from toronto) February 2009 - great hotel, great service
by Terry (from Toronto, ontario) December 2008 - I was really impressed with your hotel in Orilla, the Service was great, all questions was answered and bonus the hotel was cheaper than I was quoted when I booked online.
by Michael (from Sudbury,Ontario) August 2008 - Convenient online booking made reservations a breeze. Clean quiet room, lots of restaurants in area. Overall very happy with my stay.
by Kevin (from Brighton, Ontario) August 2008 - The Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent. The only problem I saw was on the first morning, the complimentary breakfast, the food was practically gone by 0815 hrs. The breakfast goes on until 1000 hrs.
Convenient online booking made reservations a breeze. Clean quiet room, lots of restaurants in area.
by Marianne (from Toronto) February 2008 - I phoned ahead to verify the room had a coffee maker, iron and ironing board as indicated on the booking website. All items were confirmed for the room. We arrived to find all items missing. The bed did not look like it was make up properly so we pulled the top covers back to find the sheets had not been changed from the previous guests. by Stan (from Hamilton) November 2007 - This was the best priced hotel in Orillia and good value for the money. If all you need is a clean room with a comfortable bed, this more than meets the need. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. I would stay here again.
The saty at the hotel was good. The staff was courteous and the room ready and clean. Unfortunately when I booked the room on-line there was no indication whether the room was smoking or non-smoking (which has become the norm), so when I checked in all I could get was a smoking room. UGH! That was quite unpleasant.
