The patio initially caught our eyes when we walked around main st to try and find a place for lunch. We arrived just before the lunch hour so didn't need to wait for a seat, I suggest arriving early as the place filled very quickly. We were still hoping to get breakfast food, but were out of luck. No biggie. I order the chicken pita which came with potato salad (~$10) and my friends both... more
This place came recommended from the shop next door and an excellent recommendation it was.
I had the chicken crepe. It was just enough to satisfy a hunger that had been 3 hours in the making sitting in stop and go traffic.
Although the food was excellent, the service was on the slower side, or maybe it was just us as we were all famished by the time we walked in. Everything came fresh and hot...

I came here for brunch once when I was staying in Collingwood. The decor was nice, but the food and service was disappointing.
The server came off as a little rude, but it might've just been his personality. However, I ordered a glass of water and I had to remind him twice about it. I also wanted the bill, but he forgot again so my dad had to get up and ask again.
The food was sub par. I...

The place has great energy. The food was great. Service was awesome. Our only complaints were that they didn't have pancakes and the home fries sucked!
Came here for a Saturday night dinner before the movie. Heard great things about brunch.......thought we'd try dinner.
Wife and I split the soup and salad starter. Absolutely killer cream of mushroom soup. Salad was lovely as was the atmosphere. Not pretentious and very easy going and fun staff.
Wife's main -- chicken and leek crepes. Filling with a lovely sauce an nice big pieces of chicken....

I'm not in the Collingwood area very often, but I stopped by here for brunch on my way back from a weekend at Blue Mountain. We picked Duncan's while searching for brunch places based on some pretty good Yelp reviews. That being said, maybe with limited options in the vicinity, the rave reviews should be taken with a grain of salt.
So we arrived around 11-ish with a large group of 8 people, no...

Came here for brunch after a weekend of skiing at blue mountain (located on the way back to Toronto). Great atmosphere on first impression, Canadian artworks, acoustic music really added to a Canadian diner feel. Server wasn't able to accommodate our group of 8 people but once a bigger table became available she was happily able to move us. The Western Omelet was served very quickly and was... more
I came here with a group of friends and was just able to get a table for 8. They have a few tables for groups but tables of 4 are the best.
Breakfast options are available but the diner gets busy around lunch.
I really like how all the art on the walls are for sale - adds a distinctive taste to the cafe and also helps to promote local artists.
I ordered a steak and eggs. It was very average in...

I had the leek and potato soup, which was quite good. Serving portions were good. They served us at around 3:30, so it wasn't very busy. Food took longer to bring than expected, considering it was empty. Pretty good service. At least they served us instead of turning us away at the door, like cafe chartreuse.
We stopped in here on our way to Toronto and we were not impressed. The burger was good, but roasted potatoes were very oily. The coleslaw was ok, not great. Perhaps it's a Canadian thing, (I'm from the U.S.), but the "iced tea" was Snapple. Yuck.
The food is fantastic but the service is impersonal on also good day. For me that is not even remotely a factor as long as the food is good. Try the turkey burger. It tastes like thanksgiving. That's really the only way to explain it. I've also had the mushroom ravioli which is some of the best I've ever had,... more
I was told about Duncan's by a friend. Food was great, staff friendly and efficient, but the best was the soup! Took 2 jars home, ate them in 2 days delicious!

We were in Collingwood for a few days. Walked around main street looking for a restaurant most of which were expensive. We passed by the Duncan Cafe and asked a couple coming out what they thought of this restaurant and they raved about it so we thought we would give it a try. We had fish and it was done... more
if your fond of Mullicatawny soup, look no further, if you have never tried it, bring a friend and enjoy. Have had some other appetizer and sandwich creations, we live in wasaga, i make it a habit to at least purchase the extra large take out mason jar $17.00, they charge $2 for the mason jar, refundable when returned.

Flavour is #1! Every meal says prepared with love and I believe it! Splitting a meal and appatizer is also fine with them. Definitly a keeper over and over!

I love this place. Whenever we are in Collingwood we drop in! The burritos are unreal. Full of delicious ingredients and lots of flavour. We spit a burrito and the veggie spring rolls and we were full! The spring rolls are made in house and are chock full of "stuff". Can't compare to the pathetic eggrolls you get in Chinese... more
Three sisters and a friend had lunch at Duncan's Cafe. The homemade Falafel Pita was the best I have ever had. The Quesadillas were packed and excellent as was the chicken wrap and the Manderin Chicken salad. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Also the coffee is good not weak and watered down. This is a cute place that I... more
A small restaurant right in downtown Collingwood. We have eaten lunch there every time we've visited the area. The food is top notch, homemade with obvious care. The staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient. I have no complaints about this establishment and if I lived in the area I'm sure I'd be there two or three times a week.
Had a good lunch here. Everything well prepared and servings were ample. Great club sandwich. Others had salads and sandwiches that were-also very good.
Service was friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
If you are a soup lover this is the place . The potato leek, thick flavorful really yummy, the butternut squash had a little zing not bland as some can be, and they had mulligatawny which you do mot see every day. Three of us had soup and all three were scrumptious. We shared a portobello mushroom wrap with goat... more
Napkins smell normal, juice comes in a minute maid bottle, waittress was astoundingly monotone, food was subpar and undercooked.
My husband and I stopped in for lunch midweek at 2:00pm and stood by the "please wait to be seated" sign for about 10 minutes without anyone even greeting us or letting us know it would be a few minutes. Servers continued to rush by us without a word and worked very hard to avoid eye contact. We were finally... more
Exactly what you would be looking for. We are from out of town and stumbled in while doing some local shopping. Perfect mix of menu items for everyone, freshly prepared in a low key comfortable atmosphere. Pleasant treat! We will be back.
Went on a stormy winter day with my wife.
Ordered potato and leak soup which is delicious and steak that was good.
Fantastic lunch fare! Best soups in town! Warm atmosphere! Always busy....that should tell ya something!
This is my third time stopping at Duncan's..... My wife and I got off the hill at Blue and decided to stop for lunch before heading North. I had the 3 Cheese grilled cheese and a side of Potato/Leek/Stilton cheese soup. First of all the grill cheese sandwich was deliscious, and the fact that it was on sourdough made it... more
Great menu with lots to choose from. I had blackened chicken wrap with roast potatoes. Delicious! Friendly service and a nice atmosphere.
These folks have mastered the art of soup! My personal favourite is the regularly available Potato Leek with Stilton. The Mulligatawny is also an excellent preparation if you favour that particular concoction. On our most recent visit both of us ordered pasta dishes, one with salmon and the other with chicken. Both dishes offered different flavour profiles but the proteins... more
Fabulous place for lunch!! Went with my husband and a friend on a lovely fall day. Sat outside and we all enjoyed what we ordered. I had the portebello mushroom wrap and I have had it before and did not disappoint.
As an annual ritual, a bunch of friends finish off our September camping weekend with breakfast at this cafe. The service has never been good, but we had enjoyed the food other years. This year however, when we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter flat out said we could not sit together that we would have to sit at two... more
On the way up to Sauble Beach my brother and I stopped into Duncan's. He picked it out, and it seemed like a decent pick because they had 4 stars on yelp and the menu looked interesting.
I think they try to at least do interesting food at Duncan's, but they miss the mark. I had the steak sandwich, and they didn't slice the steak into strips at all like I had expected but put a big chunk of...

The guys maked our day - in a city like Collingwood where everyone wants to make a fast dollar they didn't charged us for a beer - because they recommended it and we did not like it. This is as Canadian as it gets! Great stuff.
This is a great little spot downtown Collingwood. Went there yesterday for lunch and found the staff to be less than friendly......the most our waitress spoke to us was when I went inside to find her to pay the bill! Of course it pays to be friendly if there is a tip involved. The other waiter/host never did acknowledge us... more
perfect for a summer evening where one is not too hungry. Nice to eat a salad for dinner! Not a place where you are forced to eat a 4 course meal.
Whenever we are in Collingwood, Duncan's Café is always the restaurant we visit. We stumbled upon it one hungry, Fall Saturday and immediately decided that this was the place for us. I have to agree with one of the previous reviews -- all of their soups are fantastic! I have tried every single one but the Mulligatawny soup stands out as our family favourite. We went there for lunch.
I had the steak sandwich and it's a real steak in a sandwich not shredded meat.

I had lunch today at Duncan's Cafe. The service was fast ( I arrived just before noon)and the mulligatawny soup I ordered was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the place was packed within 15 minutes. I would definitely return to Duncan's for lunch.
Stuffed chicken & chicken pasta entrees were delicious. Cranberry/Goat cheese appetizer was lovely. Recommend to the chef use mint leaves instead of lettuce as a garnish. We'll be back again!
I don't normally write reviews but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Duncan's. We ordered eggs Benedict and veggie eggs for breakfast. Both orders were great, veggies included asparagus , tomato, peppers and onions. Great fresh taste, along with fresh coffee was good value for money spent.
I had lunch at Duncans for the second time and it was even better than the first visit. I ordered the Chicken and mango salad and it was delicious. The food is fantastic. Unfortunately, the staff isn't the best. Apparently everyone in town knows this, understands this yet the owner doesn't seem to employ people who are customer-first oriented. love Duncans one of our favorites, they have 5 homemade soups which you can purchases by the jar. really good. The chicken pita is great as well as the wraps and other sandwiches. the pasta is awesome. Also their homemade ceasar dressing is to die for. Always a great meal.
Come in for the potato, leek and Stilton cheese soup if you just want a snack. If you want an appetizer with your glass of pinot grigio, order the phyllo baked brie pastry with poached pair ($11.95) to share. The thick, gooey, savoury mushroom ravioli with fresh parmesean also hits the spot as a well-portioned main.
(And if you've got a few extra thousand dollars to spare, take home one of the...

I have never been to diner, so I cannot comment on that. However dining at noon has always been excellent. My favorites are: Thai Pork Rolls, Mulligatawny soup, Quesadilla, Chicken Club Caesar Salad. I have eaten here, and brought friends here many times
Mushroom wraps at Duncan's are so good it makes you want to go back for more. Service is always outstanding. Thumbs up for such great work. Will be back to see you soon.
Stopped for lunch today, sat in the window as they were a little busy. I've eaten at Duncan's a number of times and found the food usually good, service often slow and the soup usually too salty. But one would never be certain how service was going to be.

I had lunch the other day at Duncan's, and I was dissapointed. I ordered a Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich, with a side Cesar Salad.
