Delicious!

Mmm yummy, tasty, delicious....everything you can say about the best quality pastry and sandwiches. I absolutely adore the almond croissants and their fruit tarts. Every morning I can not start without grabbing one of these and my latte of course! Thank you, boys!

Tastiest pastry in the city!

Very tasty croissants and extremely well prepared coffee. I don't know exactly what they do there at Duc de Lorraine but their pastry keeps getting better, along with service. Guys greet me every time I come like if I am the first time visitor. Also love the cote-des-neiges cheese cake.

Great coffee and nice vibe!

Prices for coffees might be a bit steep... $4 for a black coffee but it's totally worth it! One the best tastes in town! Amazing selection of pastries and the room has a fun bustling cafe vibe most times. The salads are a highlight and it's a great place to grab a table and have lunch (there is table service) or grab something to go

Incredible Patisserie

I work near that place and every time I have a minute for a coffee and a croissant, thats where I go. So much love for Duc de Lorraine. Everything is just perfect(maybe for me), you have to try it to compare to others. It is something different in that boring Montreal.

My favorite place!

My favorite place to take a little break and to drink some good coffee, Duc de Lorraine. People are scared to try something different in Montreal. I recommend it (by the numbers of times I tried it), nice people, good prices, fresh food.

I didn't know it was a famous place

I didn't know it was a famous place, but it was close to Mont-Royal Park and St-Joseph Cathedral so I went there to grab some pastries for breakfast. By surprise, everything I bought was so good! First I thought they were good because I'm in Montreal, little Paris so they say... thinking any pastry would taste good here, but I was wrong. It was impossible to find anywhere better!

Beautiful presentation

Beautiful presentation, incredible variety, wonderfully aromatic, and delicious tasting stuff...how many superlatives do you need? This bakery is as good as it gets IMO. It is bright but smallish inside. You can smell the buttery richness penetrating the air. There are chairs and tables if you want to eat in. But most people take stuff to go. Fabulous place!

This is my favorite cafe in Montreal. After enjoying their delicious array of pastries on previous visits to Montreal, I decided to order a main course on my current visit, and was not disappointed. Way too overhyped and expensive. Yeah it's been around for a long time but since they've opened there's been a lot of competition. The pastries aren't as good as some other places and are also more expensive, perfect example are their éclairs, they're around $5.50 and same size as every other place... so they taste better? No. Never bothered trying the other things they offer there since... more

I came here to grab a warm to go coffee before visiting the St. Joseph Oratory on a very cold day. I was met by a beautiful pastry shop, with a great and wide selection of baked goods. I wouldn't recommend coming here to grab a quick and affordable coffee. I would come again to sit down and enjoy a pastry and conversation with friends.

On a sunny spring Sunday, my friends and I decided to go to Joseph's oratory to experience the beautiful view of Montreal. After this excursion we decided to go for an impromptu meal and found this unassuming spot on the corner of the street.

I had two so much different experiences in a week time in Duc de Lorraine that I have the feeling I visited two different places. Well the location and personnel were the same. Wow! Just did a takeout, $17 sandwich and they made it on a stale baguette. Inside the stale baguette was the smallest portion imaginable. I've ordered this before so I know what it's supposed to be. It unfortunately has happened before and I will no longer try again. Stop pretending to be a classy establishment, you're not what you used to be.

Duc de Lorraine is not the Upscale French Bakery/Cafe it once was.Although t!he waitress was polite and pleasant, she couldn't handle a simple order of eggs and coffee. One of the plates wasn't what we ordered. The croissants, formerly known as the best in the city, were chewy and not flaky at all...as if microwaved. We had to return them as they were inedible!
