A big bakery, NOT a restaurant
August 20, 2014Dooher's is a bakery with lots of baked goods to choose from. There might be a place or two to sit inside, with a few spots (in summer) outside to eat the sweet or meat pie you lined up at the counter to buy, but this is by no means a full serve restaurant. BEST pies ever (and everything else too
August 03, 2014Dooher's butterscotch cream pie is the most amazing pie I have ever tasted. The whipped cream on the top is more than needed but oh, so tasty. Great doughnuts
April 20, 2014If you're in the area, get Dooher's doughnuts. We got a 1/2 dozen for $6, including apple fritters, an apple fritter with maple glaze, boston cream, etc. They were all good. Very fresh. They are very traditional, though, no crazy flavours. I saw only yeast doughnuts, no cake doughnuts -- but maybe that was only the time I went.

Very worthwhile to stop in
March 15, 2014The cream filled donuts are heavenly as is the bread pudding at Easter, all donut delicious. The coconut squares are good. The only thing that I have been disappointed with is the date squares, the filling was watered down or something, not natural thick date filling.

worth the drive

this is not a restaurant but it is the best small town bakery east of Toronto and probably including Toronto.
Everything is made from scratch and fresh daily. It must be great if there is a lineup out onto the street in the summer tourist season. Avoid the rush and come and see us in the winter !!

Keep up the great work

I went in on a busy afternoon ( like most are) and some one was giving the cashier heck about not wearing a glove while slicing the bread. It takes time to put on and take off a glove when I watched her washer... more

Staff are not friendly at all

Known for its breads and cakes, but if you get there in the afternoon it seems everything is sold out.
I found prices a little high. Berry tarts sold out, should make more
especially in the summer months when there are a lot of tourists around this areas.
Should train staff to be a little more friendly with the customers....

It was late in the day & few choices left to make so decided on the date turnovers ~ a bit disappointed as they were dry & overbaked. Stopped in with my family in the late afternoon and was bale to try the famous cream donuts and some other baked goods.
The quality of the treats are excellent and not sickening like a Tim Hortons donut would make you feel.
We were very pleased with our order and was impressed with the selection and the price was good...

So simple and yet so delicious

Everything in the bakery looked delicious and there were generous samples available. Took advantage of an advertised donut sale of $7/dzn. August 16, 2011Although off the 'tourist track', I can highly recommend a visit to Dooher's. A great variety of scrumptious breads, cakes and, especially, pies and doughnuts.
