Food was good but with complications

Well worth a visit

Excellent service and good choice of dishes. What we had was well cooked and presented, we didn't have the buffet as that seemed on the expensive side. Our waiter, Gary, was a real gas but sadly he went off duty, to be replaced by Brenda who was a very good substitute. Thanks both for a great evening.

Meals are always well prepared and tasty.
They are always opened late which is great.

All I wanted was a glass of wine and a bowl of soup and after I saw the buffet I wished that I was really hungry. In spite of the remains of Hurricane Arthur the service and the food was excellent.

Great Chowder

I just went to the Diplomat as it was suggested by my cab driver and had the best seafood chowder of my life! Tomorrow I am going back just to try the lobster chowder. Crab rangoons were also delicious.

Quality is somewhat inconsistent

Beautiful inside atmosphere. Food and staff were great. Nice varied menu including an all-you-can-eat buffet. A very important thing here......it wasn't noisy.

Great lunch

We enjoyed our lunch on Sunday. There were 8 in our group so we opted for two separate tables. Most of us got the buffet but one had a medium curry which he raved about the entire drive home. The vegetarian in our group only had a couple of options but really liked the chow mein she chose.

Food is amazing. Service is absolutley the worst. Staff and ownership should take some customer service classes. I will never bring another friend or business associate to this place again. The food here is good and the service is quite reasonable. This restaurant can be quite busy at times, but the staff are accomodating and usually professional. The Diplomat distributes glossy take out menus at the door and has a web site. This is more than just a Chinese take out, it's a well rounded restaurant with good service, good atmosphere and good food. Recommended.

It's a little expensive, but the food there is really good. Sometimes the wait is long, but once you sit down it is well worth the wait. Try it, it's awesome!
