Evocative of a quaint little restaurant you might wander into in Cuba, Delux on Ossington delivers the look, feel and taste of Cuba in the heart of Little Italy. Bistro fare done with imagination in a very "intime" setting. The menu is not expansive but every dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. This for the true foodie. The home made donuts are a dessert must.
Delux on Ossington was a pleasant surprise. And coveniently located a couple doors down from our favorite tequila bar; Reposado (save that for next time though. This was a Tuesday night). Since most spots are closed for lunch we checked out Delux for lunch. We had the Cuban Sandwich, it was delish, service was good and quick! Great area!
Ossington has become such a great street for dining. Not long ago was a derelict spot. "Deluxe" has a warm feeling, simple exposed heat ducts, banquettes and windows onto the street. After taking in the home and garden show a walk along Ossington and its many choices brought us to Delux, in business for 5 yrs. The combination of textures and flavours on the trout entre and the omg greshly made donuts and cheesplate , good wine list - what a delicious evening !
Fantastic Cuban food (and great fries!). My friend had the Cuban dinner and declared it delicious. I had the chicken sandwich - tasty, fresh and well worth it. Don't come here in a rush. The kitchen is not quick. I'll be back.
The Ossington strip has become quite the popular destination for foodies. With crowd-pleasers such as Rock Lobster Food, The Saint and Yours Truly, Delux can be easily missed. It doesn’t have an eye-catching sign and is rather low-key. We tried the cassoulet tonight and it was very good indeed. Duck confit and home made Toulouse sausage were served on flageolets as it should. Unfortunately the portions were frugal. Wine is expensive.
Had an amazing dinner at Delux on Ossington St, each course was superb. We started with the glazed pork belly - tender, tasty and perfectly textured with the chewy skin and melt-in-your mouth meat. My friends and I went to Delux on Saturday with the intention of having lunch, but were slightly disappointed to find out they only had brunch on Sundays. I guess we should have paid a bit more attention to their website, but I figured brunch was a universal weekend thing.

Go for lunch--the cubano is outstanding (the pork plate is excellent too). And don't forget the beignets for dessert. Simple, satisfying food in an unpretentious setting. Oh, and if you go for lunch, it is also a kid friendly venue.
Went here for lunch and had the pressed cubano sandwich. It was delicious, but very rich, buttery and meaty. Filling enough for 2 meals! The atmosphere was nice, and the server friendly. Great but nothing too unique or special. Wish they offered more lunch options than sandwiches!
This was my first time at Delux. I went on a Wednesday evening for dinner. The place has a cool vibe - very Queen West. The place is quite small - if you're not sitting in a booth (which there were only 3 or 4), then the tables they have are literally 1 foot away from each other. I have been wanting to check this place out for ages. What a mediocre experience. Wednesday night, no reservations, the place was pretty dead. We went in at around 7:30. Oyster special is great. Not impressed with steak frites: almost raw when ordered med-rare. "Re-fired" meat was unpleasant and chewy.

Vrrrrm has it right. The food is good (though not great), but if you're unlucky enough to be seated in the backroom you'll have trouble squeezing into your table and being heard across from your dining partner. It you do go, definitely refuse a table in the back room and head somewhere else!
This is what Cuban food should taste like when you go on that all inclusive Cuban vacation. Avocado salad was delicious. If you're hungry, pulled pork, rice and beans plate will satisfy any apetite. The Cubano sandwich is their signature dish. Coffee is delicious.
I was pretty excited to have an authentic cuban mohito, as the place is Cuban... but they were out of rum on a Saturday night. My steak frites was cooked to order and it was fun to sit at the bar. I would come back to try the brunch which I heard is pretty good and fun.
A resounding yes to delux! Breakfast on a Sunday around 12:30 - did not wait long for a table, server was good looking and good humoured. Their sausages - awesome and a little spicy. Tostones - these are like plantain latkes, quite yummy and starchy. Rice and beans - excellent, possibly the best ever. French toast - pleasing but a bit too sweet!
Went to Delux on a Sunday night in December to celebrate the holidays. Since our group consisted of 16 people, the restaurant requested (in advance) that we do a prix-fixe menu. That was fine with us.

Brunch in Toronto is usually very depressing. Aunties & Uncles excepted, the waiting is just not worth it. Delux is different. very tiny but dedicated to the culinary arts by nice people who care about your experience
nice room on Ossingtons hipsters row. Great staff. good fresh menu. good cocktails and wines. Whats not to like.
They served up a horrible steak frites last night, which was simply inedible. The meat had notmarbling, and was tough and sinewy, even though it came medium rare. A waste of $21- and even then you only get 6 strips of steak!
Since Jay, the manager at the restaurant left, service sucks at the restaurant. Our table was given away because we were 15 mins late. Called to alert them we're running late but no one picked up the phone. Two ladies behind me waiting in line for a table (they made res though) witnessed that their table being given away to customers who arrived later than they are.

Located on the popular Ossington Street strip, Delux has been a west-end Toronto dining fixture since opening in 2008. At lunch during the week and for weekend brunch, chef Corrina Mozo's menus are focused on Cuban food, with the Cuban sandwich drawing rave reviews. But at dinner time, traditional French dishes make their way out of the kitchen at this bistro. Try braised rabbit and vegetable... more
Traditional French tastings on the menu with Cuban influence, Delux has made its name as one of Toronto's most up and coming restaurants in the downtown area. From the outside it looks like a true bistro jammed between two edifices, with only a small awning to give it away. Deep mahogany walls and tables are countered by dim neon-lit signs and a sleek fireplace to give this place an... more
