The Delta Hotels by Marriott Halifax offers the backdrop for a perfect visit to Nova Scotia. Enjoy comfortable accommodations, impeccable service and breathtaking views of Halifax Harbour.
The Delta Halifax (formerly the Hotel Halifax, which was formerly the Chateau Halifax) is a slick and modern downtown hotel that offers premium services. It's located just a block off the waterfront, to which it's connected via a skyway, although navigating the skyway involves an annoying labyrinth of parking garages and charmless concrete structures. The lobby is street-side, and guests --... more
I stayed at the Delta Halifax for business for one night and was treated like royalty! I rented a car from enterprise (which is a short walk up two flights of stairs from the lobby to scotia square, where you'll find sushi, a food court, and your car rental! I was so pleased with Elisthe at the front desk who patiently checked me in with someone else's card over the secure billing site. When I... more
Clean room, nice view, friendly and helpful staff, overall it was fine. Expensive parking and resturant in hotel. Wouldn't be my first choice in Halifax due to the cost- overpriced for the lack of amenities.

They are professional in every aspect but also respect your needs and confidentiality if needed . Understanding your needs is an... more
Rooms clean. Helpful friendly staff. Subpar gym - limited equipment, dark and unwelcoming space. Dark hallways definitely need an update. Easy access to Halifax World Trade Centre (didn't have to go outside in days of rain).
Clean rooms, awesome customer service, would recommend 100%!
Staff were great,we wanted to buy a late check out but they gave it to us for free!! The restaurant/room service was super awesome too! The room was tidy and updated had a mini fridge which was a perfect size !
Overall I had a lovely trip. I booked into the Delta Barrington but the 1-800 number placed me into the Delta Halifax. The Delta Barrington was very nice and helped me across the street to the hotel. When I checked in, I received a hand written note from the Delta Barrington and plate of fruit. This was a lovely gesture.... more
I stayed here days after one of winter's nastiest storms.
Great very friendly staff at every turn.
Large comfortable room
Best features:
Connected to indoor walkways to other buildings
Super quality and selection at breakfast buffet and of course great waiters
Close to city hall, citadel, casino, waterfront, Scotiacentre
Staff was very helpful and accommodation were excellent.Service was great .location is well central in Halifax with access to night clubs peddy way walking and bus route. Room service menu excellent and the extra TLC was great.
My room in this big downtown hotel was comfortable and quiet with a small outdoor sitting area in an interior courtyard. No sign of a doorman, or anyone for that matter upon check-in at 5:00 p.m. Check in was smooth but we were shocked to learn that we would be charged $25.28 (includes tax) per day for parking! Had the opportunity to stay here for 4 nights and really enjoyed my stay. The front-desk staff were great to deal with and very friendly and helpful. My favorite hotel to stay at in Halifax. It's close to everything and it's in a mall with a great food court. Staff are friendly. The only problem I have is it seems like the room I got this time has the bathroom inside a closet. Sort of odd? In any case, it's a nice hotel with a good location and I'll def stay again.
Coffee, tea, toiletries not replenished every morning had to request then at the desk every evening.
The Harbour Bar and Grukk was excellent, staff excellent in particular.
Great hotel, a little tricky to get in and out of, but parking is very accommodating, being validated for 24 hours for each night's stay, corresponding to when you arrived. That allowed me to keep my car in the parking garage after I checked out, giving me more time. Restaurant had very good quality food, but it would have been nice to see a simpler menu, and a bit more extended room service... more
Nothing to complain about. We were there for a wedding in the hotel, and that went well. The buffet meal was good, as was the breakfast buffet the next day, though neither was outstanding. The hallways were surprisingly cool, but that was not an issue for us. Room temperature was easily adjusted. Parking was easy and convenient. We didn't make any use of pool or exercise facilities.
Very much enjoyed my stay at Delta Halifax, very convenient location. Very close to waterfront, could walk there. Would definitely stay there again!
Thouroughly enjoyed my stay. It was a great place to stay and would definitely stay at the Delta again!
The stay was fine - clean, efficient, neutral decor, etc. - but nothing mind blowingly special, typical of pretty much any decent hotel chain offering. The staff were pleasant, efficient.. The restaurant however, The Harbour Light was above average, at least for the supper hour, service efficient but relaxed and genuinely friendly and the food really high class.
The staff went beyond the normal expectations at times to ensure our stay was welcomed and valued. I appreciated everything they did. Friendly and courteous. Professional. The location is perfect. Easy walk to so much. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We were given wrong room upon arrival, 2 doubles instead of deluxe queen. After some searching they did find a room with king bed but would not say deluxe!
We go to Halifax for one weekend a year for the Casino. This was the first time we stayed at Delta Halifax, and we would stay there again, definitely.
The hotel is in a convenient location. One block from the wharf. We upgraded our room to a harbour view which was worth the extra $20/night. Upon arrival they asked what brought us to Halifax, we told them it was our 35th Anniversary and within 10 minutes of being in our room we were brought a decadent dessert, two forks, a bottle of champagne and some glasses. That was a wonderful surprise.... more
The hotel is just a block away from the beautiful waterfront, and the facilities are great. Friendly staff and good service.....moved to the Westin after staying at the Delya and it has been a disappointment.
Nice Facility. Very comfortable room. Staff very accommodating.
We ended up sleeping on a pull out bed in a suite with a nice board room table.
For a room that was specifically for two adults, we didn't have toiletry supplies for two adults - only one house robe, not enough shampoo for two people, etc. A bit of a disappointment. Otherwise, a nice place to stay.
pleasant stay. just wish parking had been included or at least advised clearly this was an extra
It's located in an awkward location. Having to cross major street to get to the sea side... Also it's at the one end of Halifax thus long walk to other side also parking is not free..,
We stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean, comfortable with a nice view. Really convenient location.
Staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants and happening activities. Our room was not ready upon arrival but staff were very accommodating offering a temporary room to freshen up in and then transferred our belongings to our room later.
Rooms might be dated...but the service is exceptional. .love the ease of vallet parking...which I wasn't sure about until I experienced it. Easier than slepping down to a parking garage!
Delta Halifax is very close to the boardwalk of Downtown Halifax. You can walk outside or take the pedway if the weather is cooler. The pool is very family friendly and the room was quite comfortable - Great Pillows! The staff at the restaurant catered to our needs and even provided our children's meals free of charge. Overall, a great experience that I would recommend to a friend.
We stayed four nights and used the hotel as a home base for some day travel. It was great to be able to come back, swim and them be able to walk to a choice of dozens of restaurants.
The staff was very friendly. The location is perfect for strolling along the harbour. Loved the pedway for returning to the hotel at night.
Our experience was amazing. They upgraded us without us even asking, provide playpen for our baby to sleep with no added cost, pool has a section that is very shallow (2'9") perfect for our 4 year old, and restaurant had amazing food (lobster dinners for $25 plus kids <6 eat free & <12 is half price!)
Hotel right in the downtown area and close to waterfront. Many restaurants and pubs within walking distance from hotel.
Our room was by the elevator and people were very noisy. They do not bring salt and pepper with any room service order. Bathrooms are very small. They do not take away the empty room service when they clean the room. Overall stay was good just room service needs some customer service.
Close to the wharf about 1 block and the wonderful restaurant on the way from the hotel. Close to the casino if that's your thing. This hotel is connected underground to McDonald's, Starbucks and a multitude of stores for shopping and from there you can walk to the wharf if its raining. Murphy's is a great restaurant to eat especially if you have kids and get a table right on the water. This... more
Had a great stay at this location. The front desk servers were very polite and one made my boyfriends day when she remembered his birthday the next morning at check out and wished him a happy birthday. The workout facilities were exceptional for a hotel and the rooms were comfortable. Mine did not have a fridge though. One and only shortfall. Overall, great experience.
Pros : close to everything , walking distance to everything. Nice balcony view. Pool and hottub was nice. Cons: room was small , had a 5th person and no room for the cot. Rooms and hallways need updates as far as modern goes . Overall enjoyed our stay.
The service at the hotel was great. Close enough to walk everywhere down to the boardwalk, close to restaurants and even the Citadel. The hotel is in need of renovations to freshen it up but I was told that it is slated to be done in 2015. Overall a great stay!
Everything was great, but the parking was awkward.
upon arrival was checked in by ellen she was the BEST most helpfull and just plain nicest person we ever met in that position and my wife and I travel a lot she alone assured us a return stay
Stayed 6 days, the rooms to me were not 4 star. Rooms like any other rooms, bathrooms were old fixtures.
i love the water front i come every year my dauthter and i loved it the restaurants the walk aboutevr
We stayed at the Delta Halifax for 4 nights in late July and the service was truly fantastic! We were given the opportunity to see several rooms before choosing one with a great view. great, very helpful staff, we highly recommend the Delta Halifax to everyone!!!! The hotel room was very clean, the staff were very helpful and the location is very central. Close to everything downtown.
Although this hotel is in a great location, I would not go back. The desk staff were wonderful and we were upgraded to a King suite upon checkin. Wi-Fi Signal was very bad. Bed it self was not good. Elevator's have no working sign, whether they are going up or down. You need to guess. Overall I am not happy with the service and conditions of the hotel.
Convenient location near the Citadel and waterfront. Also connected to indoor mall via "pedway" which we took all the way to the waterfront as the weather was not ideal during our visit.
Very polite and agreeable staff. Very attentive to my request of being changed rooms because of the noise of the elevator ( my room was by the elevator)
Parking was in a creepy, semi-abandoned parking structure undergoing construction. Confusing at first. Check-in was smooth, room had a view of the harbour. Bathroom was very tight, room was comfortable, but dusty.
Parking is expensive $20 a night and a nightmare to navigate. Check in was slow, desk clerk continually complained/apologized for the hotel computer system. Showed up at the bar 20 mins before posted close time and was told they were closed and I couldn't get a drink. Hotel corridors for whatever reason were not heated and were extremely cold. Room/bed/shower all decent
This hotel is everything you need , close to most attractions and resturants overall very good.
My husband and I use the Delta as our "get-away" and we are always pleased.
Being someone from out of town, I found this hotel to be more difficult to get to than I anticipated. The room was clean and suitable to our needs. I found that the wait staff in the dining room were friendlier than the staff at the registration counter.
Checking in was painless, they were very knowledgeable with what is around the hotel attraction wise. Checkout was even easier, the hotel was clean and simple. Only complaint was that the pool service states after 9pm, kids under 18 are to be accompanied by an adult. A friend of mine and I purposely waited until after 9 to swim and relax, but when we went it was swarming with kids 15 and under.... more

$20 per day for parking is CRAZY - hotel guest should be allowed to park for free as they are staying at the hotel. Upgraded to a King room with Harbour View from a Quuen - Queen room was must larger and nicer, but the view was amazing.
the staff were immediatley helpfull and friendley which made us feel compfortable and relaxed with our stay there,we will be bookong there again on our next get away
I enjoyed the location the most. Where it's at the of Barrington, you're close to everything without feeling like you're downtown.

I did not like the parkade. Found it very difficult navigating between the levels while trying to find parking on the north end.
Great location near most of the atrractions in Halifax. I had a great view from my room which added to the ambiance of the hotel. The restaurant was excellent wih really good food and the service in the bar was exceptionally good.

Management re water problem, did not inform us,couldn't find door to hotel from parking garage without help, only sign is at door after finding.
The staff when I asked for help for directions etc could not have done more, they even gave us take away menus.

The check in staff mislead us on check in we asked for 2 rooms nearby which was confirmed and they were on different levels. The reception, bar and restaurant are excellent and very modern but the rooms and corridors seriously need investment and updating for the prices you charged.

Enjoyed my stay. Room was a little dated but overall great location and very close to casino. Rate was competitive for value and other similar ones in Area. I would easily stay there again $20 night parking is steep but becoming standard
Hotel room elevator too far from garage. Signs not clear or not enough signs to indicate where things are.
To find the hotel was difficult. I came in a rented car and being so close to a busy corner where people are watching traffic while turning it is easy to miss the turn off. If there is a map online showing the exact location, I missed it.
