We stayed at the Delta Chelsea for a couple nights while in Toronto to see a concert. I have stayed there before, pleasure and work. I love the location, the rooms are clean and attractive. There is a pool, great restaurants and a play area for kids, including a pool with a slide. This hotel is my number one choice.
Eaton Chelsea is one of Canada's largest hotels, located in the heart of downtown. Aside from the over 1500 hundred rooms, there's a spa and fitness center. Also, there's the Tbar lounge and the Monarchs Pub which are open to all.
spent a week here with my spouse - enjoyed the room and the Market Restaurant. Staff very helpful and friendly. Loved the 27th floor workout/pool area. Very enjoyable visit with evverything we needed, restaurants, shows, etc. accessble.
Started a tour of Canada in Toronto at this hotel. It was extremely busy when we arrived here but the staff were very efficient and we were being attended to within 10 mins which I thought was great for a hotel with around 1500 rooms. The room was nice and generous with a really comfy bed. (seems that they know... more
First the positives. The staff are friendly.
Staying here on business. First room assigned was right beside service elevator. Someone was working in the area at 2:00 am making enough noise to keep me up. I asked to switch rooms. Had to do all the moving myself. Changed at 2:15 am to 4th floor room equally noisy room facing Gerrard....

The Chelsea Hotel (aka Eaton Chelsea) is a TERRIBLE HOTEL!
Where do i start this review?
1) The check in process...after waiting 25 minutes with only 3 guests in front of me, which tells me that the front desk manager are not accommodating the needs of their guests. With the sophisticated technology associated with hotel reservation systems - they are...

Deciding on a hotel to stay at when going to Toronto is a big decision. We decided to stay at the Eaton Chelsea and I have not regrets! I've stayed here a couple of times when it was the Delta Chelsea and stayed here last week with a girl-friend. The location is very convenient - 5 minute walking distance from the Eaton Centre, Yonge x Dundas Square, transit, lots of places to eat, etc.

Stayed for four nights recently. Room was spacious but a little dated, bed and pillows were very comfortable. Hotel is under-going major room renovations. Excellent location within walking distance to many attractions. Pool and fitness centre located on 27th floor were well appointed and very clean. Staff very courteous and helpful.
Being the largest hotel in Canada, it obviously has to cater to many needs, and because of that, it is not going to excel in anything. On the negative, the hotel did seem very tired in places (the lifts, carpets, the standard rooms that have not been upgraded yet). On the positive, it was very well located for us as... more
The Chelses Hotel is very convenient to Sick Kids Hospital, where we were going and it's nice having a late checkout as I never know how long we will be at the appointments. Every one is very friendly and very eager to help out.
Pros: Conveniently near to really everything, with fast internet and great, accommodating stuff. Cons: not at all helpful with late checkout ("the room was assigned"...), their restaurants charge you for delivery in their own hotel, the parking is too expensive. Note: their internet is fast and reliable but seems to have some small problems from time to time. I discovered... more
We were there for two days and no one ever even came to offer fresh towels or clean the room. They offered free wifi but we never got it and even though we called their IT people, we still never got it. We certainly expected more and were very disappointed.
We booked this hotel because of the kid's pool area. When we arrived we were told it was closed. The rooms were very dated, especially the bathrooms. We went for brunch in the morning which looked like a wide variety of choices, but only to find out there were only 4 choices available in the hot food breakfast area.
Warm greeting upon arrival via Elm st entrance. Chief greeter super helpful with luggage. Car valet smiling and friendly takes over the car and returns it upon check-out next morning. For supper had superb steaks with salads in Market Garden prepared by master chefs who interact with you directly to determine your preferences. Great experience. Everyone amazingly courteous.will return in July!
The core business of the Chelsea Hotel at Gerrard and Yonge has always been serving large numbers of mid-range business travellers. Along with the recent makeover of its lobby and cafeteria--both fresher, brighter--it is upgrading its large contingent of rooms. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient (if a little quick to sell you upgrades for $30 more), the bed,... more
this hotel was ok. really well located downtown. the room was spacious. it needs renovations a little bit. the room was old. it is really similar to an old holiday inn hotel. expensive for what you get but it is always like this when you decide to stay downtown.
After reading other reviews, I felt apprehensive in booking the Eaton Chelsea through Travelocity.com. The Eaton Chelsea was selected for us by the site through their secret deal system. When you do this, you get their most basic room... The Chelsea Queen. Knowing we got bargain rates, I did think we would get an old disappointing room. I couldn't have... more
Let's begin with the good points. The hotel had wonderfully friendly staff at the guest check in. And the motif behind the front desk is really interesting. And if you join the loyalty program you get automatic late checkout.
Now for the areas for improvement. The underground parking lot would seem to be intermediating for cars larger than compact size....

Very nice, great location, staff extremely friendly
The room was fine. Would like to see a small fridge in room. Would recommend to family and friends.
We had eye surgery at the Kensington Eye Clinic the hotel was closed by. There was easy access to a variety of food services, the old Eaton Centre was great for a walk without having to be outside in the cold!
booked 2 rooms and one smelt bad of smoke but once you were in it for awhile you got used to it. Overall the room was ok and the beds were really comfortable which made it a plus.
The over all experience of my stay was good. The only complaint I have is the TV was hard to operate.
Staff were friendly and helpful and allowed me to check in early. Room small but bed comfortable. Okay for my needs but but room was in need of renovation. Wallpaper gloomy and peeling; bath grout discolored. TV not HD. If you just need a place to sleep this room is fine; if you plan to spend any time lounging in room, consider an upgrade. Fridge would have been nice.
We upgraded our deal for upper floor city side...worth every penny. Wonderful experience with great location and service. Would choose to stay here again in the future.
Great stay. Hotel staff friendly and accommodating. Close to shopping and restaurants.

Hotel was nice, in a good location. Pretty basic but clean rooms, had a nice pool/workout area with view of CN Tower. Only stayed two nights but would stay again as the price was good when compared to other options in the area. Rooms were dated, but clean. Lots of restaurants in the area, close to businesses or tourist attractions depending on what you're visiting for.
Though this hotel isn't the fanciest- it has everything you need and a great location. Pool and fitness centre are amazing- best part of my stay!

Great place to stay,it's very Central close to the shops and restaurants
The largest hotel in Canada has a lobby comparable to an airport terminal; perfect if you're gathering with 1,000 or more close friends. The Eaton Chelsea made me feel lost in a vast fading empire of aged and dirty brass (the elevators, ugh!), un-vacuumed stairwells and peeling wallpaper. I applied my own elbow grease to suspicious bathroom stains and dusted long-ignored surfaces.
Eaton Chelsea is located right in the thick of it - Central to everything in downtown. The Airport Express stops right outside the Gerrard entrance and there are exits to three sides - easy access to a lot of near by attractions, CitySightseeing bus, Metro, trolley bus and shopping. The BB33 bistro is a buffet breakfast and at $22 per head (plus tax+tip) it's very overpriced. The MarketGarden... more
The hotel provided everything I needed for a short stay. The room had a balcony with great view of downtown Toronto. Bed was comfy and coffee facilities and bathroom toiletries were good. There was a pub and good restaurants in the hotel but the central location was the best feature.
Very good hotel. Clean, quiet at night. Great location!
I'd forgotten how annoying very large hotels can be. Lots of people, had to stand in line for 15 minutes to check in, slow and crowded elevators. The climate control in the guest rooms isn't truly controllable by the guest; I was there in late October, and the AC was turned off in the rooms but temps were much warmer than typical. It was never cool enough in my room. Good location.
We were pleased with the friendly staff, clean rooms, good ammenities and convienent location.

The Eaton Chelsea was ideally located downtown to everything that you needed. What also made it very gratifying for me is that since I took the Megabus, my concern was that I would get lost in a foreign country & maybe even miss my bus. Not the case. The Eaton hotel was only about 3 minutes walking from the bus depot which is good to know for the future.
There were a few negatives: a dirty glass, wallpaper starting to peel, bathroom in need of renovation. Despite this, the room was otherwise clean, if small. We chose this hotel and this room based on price and location. There was nothing in downtown Toronto any cheaper, and this was the neighborhood we wanted. Many restaurants in the area, including great breakfast places, for those like us who... more
Perfect location, clean room, great and helpful staff. Parking on site but 29$.
Overall, a very good three-day business stay. Staff is very accommodating and polite. The best parts of the hotel are the pool/gym on the 27th floor, and the convenient self-serve café that has a number of different food stations, is open early and stays open late, has plenty of seating, is well lit and has a number of TV screens and WiFi. The food is more than passable. My room was only... more
Great night in Toronto! I love this hotel and would stay here again! Staff very friendly and hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city! I love this place!
Room is just nice for business traveler although the toilet is small.Parking charges is too expensive for the guest.
Nice clean room with a queensize bed and at a good price. Very comfy yet spacious.
Location is real good for downtown events. Decor could use an update, but still a nice hotel.
The parking fee was high. The room was very tight. Little room to move around. No refrigerator in our room.No safe in our room.Lousy internet connection.Very busy and disorganized lobby and services.
The staff at this hotel was absolutely awesome. Right from the time we stepped on the sidewalk out front. We were welcomed, helped and pampered. it was a wonderful stay.
The lobby area is nice, but the rooms are loud and dated. Since the hotel is in the party center you'll have street noise as well as noise from other guests. In fact I got tired of hearing the crude yelling from the bacony above me that I requested a new room. They gave us a room on the 9th floor. This one was quiet, but for most of our stay the elevator didn't work.... It's no fun walking up 9... more
Staff was very courteous once my reservation was received. Hotel is a great place to stay. Room was spacious. Good view of the city. Close to Eaton Centre Mall. Already recommended this hotel to a friend.
Great stay at Chelsea Eaton. The staff were very helpful in providing maps and directions to the local events in town. Recommendations to nearby shops, restaurants, mall, theater is all within walking distance. Easy access to PATH, subway, taxis, shuttle to airport, etc.

We stayed at the Delta Chelsea in downtown Toronto from February 12 -13, 2005. I guess when they rated this hotel a four-star it must have been absolutely empty of people, because if you like waiting in a line-up for check-in, waiting to get into a crammed elevator, waiting to get down to the garage, and then waiting an hour-and-half in a car line-up to get out of the parking garage--this is... more
On a trip to visit family over the Thanksgiving weekend, several members of my family stayed at this hotel for. My mother and I stayed in one room on the 26th floors, while other family members stayed in other rooms on lower floors.

Accomodation right downtown isn't cheap. On the very cheap end there is the Backpacker's hostel on King St. West at Spadina (which is in a great location in the heart of the city), but Toronto really doesn't have any mid-range hotels right downtown that I'm aware of. All big name hotels are represented here - the Sheraton, Delta Chelsea, Hyatt, etc...and all are nice and conveniently located if... more
During my June, 2004 visit, the meeting was set up for the Delta Chelsea. This is a rather non-descript hotel from the outside, but I rather liked its interior lobby area with its decor and attached Bar, Pub and Restaurant areas. I really didn't get to choose the hotel, as I was to be amidst the "hub-bub" of what was going on (eg: Meeting w/ Berni amongst others). The old rooms.. First room was definitely smoked in, second room we had, had mould in the washroom and room was very outdated.
The location was very convenient to shopping and nightlife.
Room was very outdated and beds less than comfortable for the cost of the room.
Valet parking, though expensive, decor, location close to the hospital
Price, including restaurant prices
location is good, bellhops are good
rooms, especially washrooms, are getting pretty dated. Also they need to patrol the hallways at night to keep the noise and foot traffic in check.

The wallpaper was peeling on every wall: the balcony had cigarette butts on it (in a non smoking room), the door latch plate was hanging off, the door key cards failed working after 24 hours, when the room was cleaned, the wet towels were not taken out: new ones stacked right beside them. The TV remote was really 'sad'. Check out line took a long time.

Broken plug in washbasin - therefore no water stayed
The room service. The staff was nice and the location was a perfect city view.

My toilet backed up. Somebody was supposed to call a plumber, but he was out playing soccer. All in all, it was a hotel.
Over all not a bad hotel to stay at an a deal via the name your own price program priceline has. I did get a giant splinter from one of their wooden railings. I reported it to the front desk to ask if their was a gift shop I could buy a sewing kit from, they did send one up to the room but they never apologized or anything which did disappoint me. Also, security is very very low, and maybe that... more
Was like deja vu, as if the staff new everything about me, a little freaky at first but then comforting accept for the sense of alternative motivEs that remain unclear
I stayed on my Birthday and the staff went out of thier way to make it a special night. We have stayed at many Hotels in Toronto but this one will always stand out! Thank you Front desk and staff at Bb33
“Good location, but not a 2.5 star at best. The washroom was the biggest disappointment.”
“I expected more from this hotel. It likely would have been worth the travel time to stay at the Delta East. We booked this hotel because of the family pool. Although the pool was good for loud kids, it was essentially a basic shallow apartment pool, with a water slide. The room was dated and very basic. It was evident that they place customers in theses types of rooms.”
“Highly recommend this for a business or leisure stay in Toronto. In/out privileges parking, well situated, beautiful hotel, great staff, and
great bed.”
“Have stayed here a number of times and always clean, friendly and a reasonable price.”
“Great staff , but poor management - some rooms are horrible an others are great.”
“The hotel was close to the Eaton Center which was great. Walking distance to Dundas Square and Yonge Street. Got fooled with the slide. Swimming area was tiny, smaller then house pools and so overcrowded due to the Santa clause parade
I guess, over 50 kids which shud not have been allowed and only one lifeguard. Felt unsafe and left after 10 minutes of being there. Not worth $200 dollars!”
“When I bid for a 4 star or 3.5 star room, I expect the hotel that accepts the bid actually meets that criteria. Have been very satisfied, but the last two times the Delta Chelsea Inn has accepted my offer and I have been very disappointed. The common areas of the hotel are very nice, but the rooms that I have been given my last two stays were very small, quite dated, 20 year old T.V's, no... more
“In my view, they seem to treat
poorly in terms of room assignment. If all of their rooms are like the one I got, this hotel should be avoided.”
“I'd come here again if I got a better room. Service was up to a high standard, but we visited friends at the courtyard and their rooms were larger for less money. The only difference I noted was a smaller lobby, but that doesn't matter to much to me compared with my personal accommodations.”
“I would have had this hotel at the 3 star level at most. It was adequate for my needs. Clean for the most part with the exception of a glob of toothpaste residue from a previous guest and a cracked bathroom door. I got put into a room overlooking construction.”
“The desk staff were pleasant and helpful but housekeeping was not. The room (and the hallway smelled awful) and was very hot, even though the heater wasn't on. The AC didn't work and the sliding door to the terrace was blocked from opening by a block of wood that was nailed down. Housekeeping offered to "spray" and bring a fan but they never showed up. The bed was nice and firm and very... more
“The hotel is very nice and well situated.
I do believe that renovations of the rooms is long overdue and maybe a refrigerator in the room would be an added feature.with more than 1 night stays, it would come in handy.”
“I don't think this hotel should accept bids at the 3.5 star level, because it is clearly not at that level.”
“Fine hotel, good restaurant, breakfast however was cold. Public areas look good.”
“Customer service is horrible. I can not believe people actually stay in this hotel. This is the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel.”
“Very large hotel with a lot of amenities. Friendly staff. Acceptable restaurants and bar with live entertainment. Looked like there were very good facilities for people with children. Rooftop pool and fitness facilities. Parking, as always in downtown Toronto, is expensive.”
“This hotel was in a great location, safe, clean, with a very pleasant staff. Well worth the money. We enjoyed our stay.”
“I don't think that you could find a better hotel in GTA for your family than the Delta Chelsea. Tons of stuff to do for the kids and we didn't even touch the pool. Location is fantastic for Younge St and everything near by.”
“The hotel is always fantastic; nice and clean, pretty, comfortable beds, competent staff (usually), good prices on Priceline, and the best location ever. The few times I've ordered room service I have always been very happy with it. The pool area is great too - it's my favorite hotel in Toronto.”
“It was a nice hotel, but not as nice as the website made it look. We must have gotten a "priceline customer" room, because I did not think it was up to par. The beds were very comfortable and they cleaned our room very nicely every day.”
“This was a lovely hotel in a great and convenient area.”
“This hotel has an impressive lobby but do not be fooled, the rooms are dirty, old and run down with old tech furniture. Definitely not a 3 1/2 star!”
“Although we have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, I would look for another hotel next Rome, for the price we payed for the room we should have had a much nicer one.”
“Great location, large hotel with many rooms, lots of food options right outside the hotel. Older hotel, bathrooms need to be completely renovated, but they were clean. Public spaces needed to be cleaned more often.”
“Construction across the street from our room at 7 a.m. made for an early rise. For the inconvenience, they should have waived their $30 parking fee, which is excessive.”
“In general it is a nice, clean hotel, and people are friendly. I hope when people are reserving they have to see the exact room which they will get.”
Just returned from a week stay at Delta Chelsea. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Pillows were AMAZING! Great location! Would recommend this hotel to anyone!
hello, check out this page dedicated to this amazing hotel! www.cooneelee.com/en-ca/hotel/Canada/...
“In our room, our balcony door could not open, there was a piece of wood that was nailed down. We were disappointed because we had good weather, and we wanted to go out on the balcony in the morning and in the evening.”
“It's a great place for family and children. The food was really good in the lobby restaurants.”
staff & service was excellent. but the hotel itself needs updating. I think also when they are getting a large crowd of tourist, they need to do a better job of escorting these people to the rooms. the elevators was held up for a half hour. i had to walk around an wait for an elevator. would not stay at that hotel again.the food at the market place was horrible
“Overall, good hotel in a great location in downtown Toronto. Room was small but adequate for 2 people. The service people were nice, but slow in responding to requests. The public spaces in the hotel were overcrowded and loud. Overall, had a pleasant stay.”
Great Hotel! prime location, close to main square at Yonge and Dundas. allowed for cheap upgrades. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Delta Chelsea. When I arrived the staff was very friendly, accommodating, and promptly assisted me in getting settled. It was St. Patrick's Day evening, and I was advised on the numerous activities that were unfolding near the hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room layout was cozy. On my next trip to Toronto I will definitely stay... more
I had a perfect stay at the Hotel. Great location to everything under the sun in Toronto. The only draw back was that there was not a safe in the hotel room. Nothing went missing, but I still feel certain things belong in a safe.
The hotel is average but very close to everything you may want to do while in DT Toronto. The kids loved the water slide and pool but I was a little skived out by it and wouldn't go in. Made the kids shower as soon as we got back up to the room.
I had enjoyed my stay at the Delta Chelsea during a previous trip to Toronto so had decided to go with a familiar name when I booked this one night stay over. It was a little pricey given the area, which at least on the surface seemed a little dodgy. I was only there overnight, so didn't use the amenities
“Great deal for the quality. Rooms were large and clean, it was a very comfortable stay.”
I have usually had a great experience at the Delta, so I decided to try the Delta Chelsea in Toronto this past weekend. What's not to like, luxurious comfortable beds perfect for a good night sleep, not quite so! My friend and I having pre-booked, were placed in room 1032 right beside the ice machine.... We were constantly awoken by party goers filling their buckets with ice. The constant... more
“I love this hotel. I have stayed there many times and would definitely consider going back. Although, I have never paid the hotel asking price so I don't know if that would skew my perception of the quality. At any rate I found the hotel staff and facility to be wonderful. The location is amazing, it is close to almost everything, there are always cabs waiting out front and the options for... more
“The hotel was great except i did not get my delta privilege benefits”
“I have been staying at the Delta Chelsea for the eight years or so. I find it very convenient for all my travel needs. It is close to the major core of downtown. I can walk almost everywhere I require.”
“Our kids enjoyed it, which was great. Dining was expensive according to menu in room $7 for one egg. Staff was half and half for friendliness, helpfulness.”
“Hotel is centrally located, good value but the check in was not very good, long lines and slow.”
Delta Chelsea is a nice hotel in a great location in downtown Toronto, you can walk to many sites and events. The hotel is clean, classy, great customer service!
the bed was fabulous! the sheets were very high quality.
I was very pleased with my stay here, the location was perfect and the price I found on Travelocity could not be beat. My room was very comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay there again.
my room was comfortable and clean. the concierge was very helpful also recommended a great restaurant. my wife and i are looking foward to another visit. the hotel is central to the many ethnic neighborhoods lots of good places to shop and sample good food .
This is a nice hotel with attentive front desk/check-in staff. They welcomed me even though the airfare/hotel package was not approved by them initially. they were gracious in accommodating me. The rooms are comfortable, pretty well appointed and decent restaurant for late meal. I did not utilize the other services as I was in a multiple day training off-site during my stay. With the... more
My husband, mother-in-law and I stayed here for two nights. My mother-in-law called the hotel to book a seniors' rate, and she got one of the recently renovated rooms for $99/night. What was good about this hotel: - excellent downtown Toronto location - our room/floor was... more
I spent 4 days in this hotel during a family reunion a year ago. We booked several rooms and it was perfect for all of us. My husband and I decided last minute to make a surprise trip to Toronto. We were looking for a hotel downtown. The Delta Chelsea came up on our Travelocity search. We would have been more comfortable locking up... more
“Good hotel, clean, and friendly staff. Room was what I expected.”
The location was perfect...close to everything. Felt like a got a steal for the price I paid and the service/quality of hotel that I received. Worth it!
For the money, this is one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. The hotel is massive but not impersonal, and perfectly situated about as centrally as possible but without being noisy. Upon checking in I was instantly upgraded to the next class of room for no apparent reason. The room was spacious and the facilities expansive. For me, hotels live and die by their gyms since I have to get my... more
Totally will come back. Good location, nice amenities, excellent staff.
Hotel was too old needs remodeling. Got put in room next to service elevators ,so could hear them going up and down all night in our room and they told me they gave me a upgraded room, very poorly insulatated. Asked for a new room never responded to my request after I asked them on two different times. This hotel is between two subways stops so not as convenient for using public transport. Pool... more
The hotel is situated in a great location and has a great pool for the kids. I thought that the room was small and the restaurants located in the hotel were overpriced. That being said I would stay there again.
I spent one night at the hotel. The size of the room is small and the parking fee is expensive. It is convenient to restaurants.
Staff at the desk friendly and helpful. Clean room, but on the small side - fine with me, though. Delicious food- wait staff consistently made errors, but maybe that is not typical. Pool and gym facilities great. After much work, glad we found a rate of *. Not worth the * total tallied up by another site!
“ The Delta Chelsea was a great place to go with my family. The beds were comfortable, the pool and activity area great fun and nicely designed for everyone to enjoy. The games rooms was not a rip off as many are - it had very reasonably priced games-pool, football, X box, computers with Internet access. The work out room was lovely and the amenities very welcoming. The Marketplace Restaurant... more
“Loved it.
I was very happy that
I chose Delta Chelsea and would put it at the top of places to stay when revisiting Toronto.”
“The hotel is conveniently located and it is in good shape. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The only negative comment I have is with respect to the incredibly uncomfortable bed and pillows.”
“ Hotel was well situated in the city however my experience was not fantastic. Two of the restaurants were closed and we were held up before we could enter due to a employee demonstration regarding the current labour dispute. ”
“ If I hadn't pre-paid, I would not have stayed at this hotel. I was uncomfortable crossing the picket line. Also, my room wasn't cleaned during my stay due to the strike. Also, WiFi didn't work in the room. Not good. ”
“This is a great place to stay, clean, friendly, and it runs like a well oiled machine!”
Booked two nights at the Delta Chelsea through Priceline for $143. I arrived at the hotel at roughly 10pm. I was tired from all the traveling, not to mention sick, so I wanted to be in my room as soon as possible. The front desk staff were very friendly. Check in took about 5 minutes. I was told that I would be upgraded to a double bedroom in one of the upper rooms for free! The upgraded room... more
“Good location, clean and comfy beds, but too small room. I can even hear the voice from the room next door.”
This isn't the most attractive hotel but the location is excellent. I stayed here earlier in the summer and I don't have any complaints other that they charge for internet access. Seriously, a hotel of that size should offer free wi-fi throughout the hotel as opposed to just the lobby. I mean during the day there were folks teetering on their toes as they tried mercilessly to maintain... more
When you book a hotel room with a hotel name as famous as Delta you expect a level of quality. This hotel does not live up to that level. Be prepared to pay $27 a day for parking and $13.95 a day for Internet. I found the room to be covered in a layer of dust (very odd I have never experienced that one before). The curtains and sheets were threadbare. We actually thought the sheets were... more
I was in Toronto for a few days with my wife and 2 year old son and we had decided to stay here at the Delta Chelsea. The price was right ($70/night online) and it was a stop for our bus from the airport. The lobby, as others have noted, is very busy at all times. Trying to figure out where to check in was a bit confusing but not bad at all. The front desk staff was very courteous and... more
I am staying in this hotel at the moment for a 3 days family weekend, with my whole family (wife, 2 sons, daughter). We spent a long weekend with our kids at the Delta Chelsea -- it's a great family hotel. The kids swimming pool and water slide is great and provided for much fun. The hotel restaurants are great. And the staff was really nice especially to the kids. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Toronto with kids.
We arrived at our hotel around 3PM during the day to check-in and had no problems. We were greeted nicely, and other than being informed about very overpriced parking (*dollars a day), we had no complaints. Upon entering our room, we were completed disgusted. The room was incredibly small, outdated, and the bathroom door did not even close. The TV was a little 17 inch, and the alarm clock was... more
found the delta to be very family friendly. My family enjoyed both pools, and esp the slide. Lobby was perfect "says my 11 yr old son " and the food choices and lounge were very comfortable. most likely to return. Friendly enviroment room service quick most definitly our standard
The Delta Chelsea is one of, if not the largest hotel in Canada with almost 1600 rooms over 27 floors. I've stayed at the Delta Chelsea a couple of times over the years, once on business and once for pleasure. I have a friend to goes to Toronto every summer for a long weekend and she always stays at the Delta. We both agree, the service is excellent and the location is amazing. It is set in off... more
The first time I stayed at this hotel, I was upgraded to an executive room which was divine. The next time I stayed here, the room was awful: outdated, dingy, chips in the sink, on the toilet, in the tub as well as the tiled floor. There were plaster marks all over the walls on top of the wallpaper in the main room. The furniture was outdated and too small which made the room look cheap (as in... more
From the moment of courteous check-in, to my stay, to my check-out, my Delta Chelsea experience was enjoyable. The hotel was clean and modern; it was, also, conveniently located in downtown Toronto and easily accessible to restaurants, other attractions, and the Subway Lines.
Hotel is in a great location and the lobby is nice. But the room was not what I expected. The rooms were extremely small. There where stains on the one of the sheets, bathroom was not clean. There was long strands of hair on the floor and in the shower. The room was very small. I was upgraded to a Deluxe Room from a Premium Room. I don't want to know what the Premium looked like. There are no... more
Stayed here July 16-18 of 09. Had a very pleasant stay. Got it off Hotwire for 61 per night. When we got there they asked for upgrade to an updated room which I initially rejected, but as a joke said I'll do it for 10 bucks which they accepted. The room was standard size but definitely looked more updated. A maintenance guy walking around saw I was looking for ice and showed me where to go... more
Do not stay here. I had to stay here for a business trip. I will never stay here again. There was water on the bathroom floor when i arrived and when i called to tell them, they acted like i was doing them a favor by telling them rather than making it a priority to have it fixed and have me moved to a new room. The room smelled moldy and had an overall damp feeling. I couldn't see out the... more
Very nice hotel, very helpful front desk, we asked for more blankets and towels and got them right away. We had 4 adults and 1 teenager and when we checked in, we were upgraded to a room with a separate sitting area with sofa bed for teen at no extra charge. ...but concierge lacked basic information about the location of U of Toronto colleges. At check-in, the clerk was brusque and unhelpful. And at the price, there should have been free wireless throughout the hotel and not just in the lobby. Otherwise fine.
I was recently in Toronto from NYC for the NXNE music festival. My friends and I stayed at the Delta Chelsea for two nights. The hotel itself is nice and clean, as well as the rooms. Great location, good hotel. Good service and decent rooms. The really great thing about this hotel is that you can get cheap prices here via Hotwire and Priceline.
Got my room for only US$* on another site (rhymes with ""nice line""), and was very pleased. The room looks great with really attractive comforters/blankets/pillows/etc. and nice furniture although the bathroom is small because the building is 30-40 years old and that can't be helped. I used the free gym/pool on the 27th floor, which had a great atrium view of downtown Toronto. Food court in... more
Decent downtown Toronto hotel option. I was stuck in one of their "not yet" updated rooms since I got a rate of only $45/night with Priceline. Great Downtown location. Really Great Breakfast. As one Yelper noted, the lobby is typically quite busy, for whatever reason. The rooms are appointed just over the mark of Very Well. I enjoyed my time at the Delta, my first visit to Toronto many years ago. During all subsequent visits to the city, however, I opted for a Junior Suite at the Westin.
Stayed for one night after booking a special deal through their website for a newly renovated "Signature" room. Chose this hotel because of location (airport shutlle pickup spot) and because I'm a Delta Privilege member and wanted the late check-out.Delta hotels used to be the luxury hotel brand in Canada back in the 1980's but unfortunately after checking into this hotel I think they're still... more

I have stayed at this hotel twice now, and I can't stand it! The Marriott Eaton Centre is so much better. Let's talk about the Delta Chelsea though. This hotel has an expansive lobby. Excellent! I had a wonderful time. I spent half my time there as a tourist and the other half co-producing a conference at the hotel. My experiences in both roles with the hotel was perfect. The Delta Chelsea Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, is the one and only place to stay when visiting this lovely city. It is right in the heart of the city, and offers quick access to all major destinations. I would recommend this location to anyone visiting Toronto.
The Hotel is in a good location but the quality of room was very poor. We booked a supposely Upgraded Deluxe King bedroom but the furniture was well worn with stains on the carpet. If it was upgraded it must have been years ago. The check in staff were friendly and so were the maids but I don't think we got value for money. The quality of a hotel like Embassy Suites which we have stayed in a... more
This was definitely not the four star hotel that was in the pictures. The lobby and workout areas were great, but the room was less than par. The bathroom was dirty and the floor was sticky feeling. The shower was absolutely filthy. Compared to what I thought I was getting I was completely unsatisfied. I would not stay there again.
The Delta Chelsea is a conveniently located, comfortable hotel with 3 restaurants and 3 bars. The staff is very professional and accomodating. Our stay was very pleasant!
Overall the hotel was OK. The staff were friendly and helpful, however the main dissapointment was the roof top deck is closed from July thru August and that was one of the main reasons we picked that hotel. There should have been some sort of notification prior to booking, like "we have a roof top deck that you would be able to use". But it is conveniently located to Dundas Square and all that... more
Stayed here for a weekend and got a very good deal on the room. It's hard to complain too much when the price was right, but this is an aging hotel in need of some upgrades. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, and the lobby was pretty nice with a restaurant and two bars. They claim the hotel is "100% smoke free" but our room was quite obviously recently converted from a smoking room. So... more
I had a relaxing time staying at this hotel. I didn't have to go far from the hotel for anything I needed as there are shops and restaurants all around. The hotel staff is very friendly and glad to assist you with whatever you need.
The staff was pleasant and friendly. I stayed in an upgraded King room and well worth it. Tight parking garage so be careful and leave your large SUV or truck at home.
Location! Location! Location! This is an excellent hotel if you want to get out and walk around downtown Toronto. It is centrally-located and I was able to walk to most of the tourist sites and "happening" places within 10 or 15 minutes. Another great thing about it was that the airport shuttle drops you off and picks you up at the front door for less than $30 roundtrip. This shuttle runs... more
Hotel is close to many types of transportation. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were very clean. For some reason the hotel eletronically rekeyed our door locks in the middle of our stay. Only the person who the room is registered to may get new keys... not my spouse, even with id. The garden market restaurant had alot of choices, but a little on the pricey side. I would stay here... more
I enjoyed staying at the Delta Chelsea for a number of reasons. First of all it is centrally located in downtown Toronto, close to many shopping areas, restaurants and public transportation. The facilities were very clean, and especially important, it was quiet at night when I was in my room. My only misgiving is the parking fees for my rental car, more than $* per night. Not sure how to lessen... more
I was upgraded to a double room when a single was not available. The room was comfortable and clean and I was relaxed in my time there. I used the pool, the spa, and the sauna. High speed internet was provided at an extra cost of $11.95 a day. It could have been cheaper. The airport bus stop is right outside the hotel entrance. Normally the cost would be out of my price range, but I saved money... more
The only thing I was a little disturbed about would be the front desk. It took a while to check-in and even longer to check-out. I was pre-paid, but I had to give my credit card when I checked in and I wanted to be sure that nothing had been added to my card as I had not charged anything.
Many friends referred us to online travel website but this was our first experience. Delta Chelsea is a wonderful very upscale facility with beautiful rooms and many dining options. Great spot in central downtown Toronto. The hotel is a bit old, but gym facilities and pool all up to date. Super fun water slide! A bit overpriced unless you book with flight.
I read other reviews of this hotel before finally choosing it. There are some non-flattering comments, however, I can state with COMPLETE conviction that The Delta Chelsea is a wonderful hotel with wonderful staff. It is convenient to the heart of Downtown. The rooms were clean and the extra facilities (i.e. gym, pool) were great, too. I will come back to Toronto and I WILL come back to stay at... more
Good location. Close to subway. Small room. No refrigerator in my delta room (not sure about others). No soundproof. I heard service ladies talking outside the room. U can hear them and they can hear u. Professional and friendly staffs.
The hotel was nice, it is in downtown toronto so everything is right at hand. They offer bus service to and from the airport which is a plus.
We stayed for 7 nights at this hotel in a room in the North Tower which was in need of some refurbishment! However, it was clean and the hotel staff were very quick to respond to any requests we had. We then returned for a further 1 night after staying over at Niagara falls for a few days. This time we were put in a room on the 24th floor. This room was much better, newly refurbished and we... more
