I don't understand why De Dutch is so popular

Now I have been to a few De Dutchs and I just don't understand why this place is so popular. Every time I go, it's packed. Food is over priced and soso and service never that great. For the past few years, I can only say one of 5 De Dutchs gave me a pleasant experience. Yet it is still popular so.. what do I know... apparently not the brunch market... more

I can believe it! I waited 30min for a table alone with another couple. Although there was a table for six available ( which was reserved for a party that showed up after we were seated). Horrible, horrible service. Possibly the worst service I've ever had in Vancouver. Seated us then completely ignored us. It took almost an hour to get some tea and place our orders. Waitress actually scolded us for asking someone else for service. She stood within view of us counting her till and then sat down to eat breakfast herself before she'd even taken our order. best breakfast menu

Their customer service was great - my coffee mug was never empty and I was full until dinner time. I really enjoyed it that I had to go back the next day.
