Well coming back. To chilliwack after two and a half months I was looking forward. To Dakota's .
Anyway sorry to say t is out of business.
Not sure why. I heard different stories.
Anyway a big sign saying for lease.

What a beautiful restaurant to start.
The hostess was very friendly and nice.
We had drinks that were well made except one was returned.
We had salads and onion sop .
The salads are incredible. Also very large portions and very innovative.
The goat cheese and beet salad is the best. It has the perfect amount of dressing.

I liked everything i tried here. Nice salad with fruit and nuts, glazed salmon and some sort of girly martinis (can't remember the name!) Great Lunch Stop in Chilliwack

We stopped for lunch with a group of over 100 persons. Reservations had been made and we had all pre-ordered from an offering of three entrees. Our seating was fast and efficient and our food was served very promptly. My wife and I were entirely satisfied with out meals.

Nice surroundings

Loved the inside of this place, were given a nice quiet table.
the food was well prepared and nicely presented and not expensive. we thought it was very good value for our money. we also found the staff to be very friendly . Will definitely eat here again on our next visit to Chilliwack. Definitely worth the visit

New Owners - New Experience

We have been frequenting Dakota's for over eight years. You could expect great food at a reasonable price that included salad or escargot. New owners have taken over recently. Same name - Not the same food

This was my wifes favourite restaurant for their fettucine. Now its not even on the menu . Lots of other things missing now as well. We haven't been for about a year & I guess we wont be going back as the food doesn't seem to be the quality that it used to be . Plus the new owners sold... more

New owners? bad decisions

Dekotas used to be one of my favorite places to eat. The building is beautiful what a shame. I was disappointed to be handed a plastic menu that had none of my favorite items on it. Not for me

The service was extremely slow. There were no more than 30 people in the place and it took at least 5 minutes just to see a menu. The waitress did not mention any specials until we asked.The soup was luke warm and the meal soso . That will be my last trip there.

New bad management, food gone downhill, place is empty for a reason

We used to eat here regularly, food is now just aceptable at best. I also used to send clients here, probably spent over $2000 on gift certificates in last few years..beware...I was told they won't honor because they got a raw deal when they bought the resteraunt..so customers will have to take the loss.

We had our 29th anniversary on Feb.25,2013.We chose Dakota's Rest. Because it is close to home.Have not been there for approx. 1 1/2 years.. Not honoring gift certificates

I cannot understand how a restaurant can change ownership & not honor a gift certificate which had no expiry date - I'm not sure this is legal.
Maybe Steel on you side would be interested in this story.

Disappointed

I was hoping that the new management and new chef would have revitalized this restaurant . We were disappointed to see that the menu was unchanged and that the quality of the food not as good as it once was. This restaurant is lovely inside but food and service are not good enough. Use to be one of my favorites

If you are looking for a unique building this is the place to go. I understand that they are under new ownership so I must go back and try them. This was one of my favorite places to go.

Eliminating Choices

Went to Dakota's restaurant for my mother's 72nd birthday. The reservation was made for seven and reconfirmed for seven and a change to the seven o'clock reservation was made but when we got there we were written down for six. They did fit us in without any real problem.

I have been to dakotas before and found it mediocre. I thought we would try it again and found it terrible and very disappointing. My family went there for New Year's Eve. aweful 'could care a less' service

I was given a gift certificate for Dakota's and decided to use it with a friend that was visiting from the U.S There was only one other couple in the place at the time we placed our order. Food

Went back recently for the first time since it changed hands a bit ago. The service was good, the food was good. Will give it another chance or two before we decide whether or not it's going to improve under the new management. (it had definitely gone downhill with the old owners). We're remaining hopeful at this point.

Reno's

Not a fan of the new layout of the place. The food is good, it's more the layout of the restaurant that annoys me. You'll either have a spot that's so closed in, that no one knows you're there, or you have a spot that exposes you far too much.

Lunch today

We were at Dakota's for lunch today...Schnitchle's were massive x2, with a nice mushroom gravy...rice n' ceasar salad......Seafood Sandwich with melted cheese...scallops,smoked salmon,and shrimp was totaly awesome ...with a great greek salad. Small portions for the price. What happened to the plateful of fresh calamari? Used to be good value. Otherwise..so so.

Great decor, good value food

Their meals come complete with either a caesar salad or escargot!
Try the schnizel; it's thin with a nice, crisp coating.

Great service, good atmosphere, we had a group and there were no complaints whatsoever regarding the choices, food or service.

A group of us went for lunch recently at this restaurant. No one was overjoyed with the food or the service. It was a very average restaurant. The tables not overly clean, food was OK, I don't think anyone will be anxious to return. We will try somewhere else next time in town.

This is a very nice place for Chilliwack almost as nice as the Cactus Club.

Customer Satification Survey

Periodically we visit Dakotas for a casual dining experience.
Although the menu isn't very inspired we have our favorites like the Fajita Skillet.
Prices are reasonable and service has always been fine.
The decor is beautiful but we often will choose alternative restaurants for general North American fare.

We consider Dakota's a 'special' restaurant that one might not expect to find in our little community. Food and choices are good, and the presentation is typically special.

Several poor to average experiences

Dakota's at one time was a great restaurant with excellent service. Today it's absolutely average with typical food options, decent to poor service. The best part of dining at Dakota's is the environment; the restaurant is attractive and unique in it's lay out.

Food is not very good

We have eaten there several times for family celebrations and would not go back again. Slow learners, giving it a chance again each time. Overpriced for what you get and the food just isn't very good. Fancy place, poor food in stead of it creating cravings you think it's just a big waste of money.

Seems to be Sliding

Looks can be deceiving

I had both lunch, dinner, and cocktails.
The building is amazing. The staff is relatively friendly, but not up to standard for an establishment like this.
food was decent, .. didn't wow me.
I'd golden again, but wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

Best Dining in Chilliwack

Great place, love the decor, food, and the staff is great. Had the Prime Rib and my husband had the Steak and prawns. Will definitely return.
