We ate at this restaurant last night. We used to live in Ottawa and are back for a visit. We had a nice table outside. It become evident at the start that if you were not a regular you did not get the attention that a customer deserves. It Is great that the regulars get attention but new visitors also... more
I have read other reviews of this place and they refer to it as dated. I thought it was comfortable. We were served by an older gentleman in a suit. He was very pleasant. we had delicious buns with olive oil and olives. I had calamari frutti which was a very large serving and very good. Next came grilled salmon... more
We had a coupon for buy one get one free! The chicken parm with alfredo pasta is delicious! The décor is outdated but the service was friendly. We would return if we had another coupon, the menu is a bit overpriced. Overall enjoyable experience!
Not a great experience........................................the decor is very old with Italian men walking around with unpleasant looks on there face.
The atmosphere is warm and the service is great. The food in general lacked full taste that I expect from Italian food. Maybe they ran out of seasoning this night. We were served fresh bread and olives in a balsamic and oil dressing that was enjoyed .I was looking forward to our dinner but it was only ok.The salad and... more
My family and I have been going here for years and the food and service are always top rate. On this particular occasion were were celebrating Mother's Day. We started with a plate of antipasto for the table and warm rolls. For a main most of us had the special, a lamb shank, that was falling off the bone melt... more
A group of us went to Da Sergio a week ago, early in the evening. None of us had been to the restaurant before, but decided to give it a try despite the mixed reviews that we had read.
The menu was standard for Ottawa Little Italy, with some interesting options in the daily specials, especially the lamb shank. But...

My wife and I wanted to make a change and visit a different restaurant on Corso Italia in Ottawa. Something simple. Our standard has been la Trattoria Italia, a few doors north of this one. So I compared the food fare, presentation, service, ambiance and..price. Da Sergio is located below street level but, for warmer days, has a sidewalk café... more
5 friends (late 30, 50s and 60s) professionals eat out often.... Celebrated a birthday... Most have been there many times before... Relatively quiet given sunday evening... Ordered various appetizers --calamari and smelts delicious... Well prepared fish dishes, a good indicator of a good italian restaurant. The anti pasto was good but over priced for the dish. The fish of the... more
We were a group of 18 persons who reserved ahead of time, we had calamari that was the best I have ever tasted, light and airy, anitpasto plates that were very well served with a great variety, salad was very fresh, pasta dish was more than we could ask for, and the main course of veal was delicate and full... more
We were checking out the menus down Preston on our first visit to Ottawa and decided to go to Da Sergio only because the other restaurant we had in mind had a line up. Big mistake. We were rushed in, seated and were not even offered water or...A MENU!!! One of us has to get up after nearly 10 minutes... more

Fresh italian deli meats, fresh bocconcini chesse and an assortment of our chef’s specialties
We rec'd 4 kind of meat which I though they forgot because they put on bottom of plate and could barely see it because they top with CAN artichoke, CAN eggplant, 8 or 9 olives, 4...

This is one of my favourite restaurants to visit in Ottawa. I've never had a bad meal, the food is always fresh and the staff are always very helpful! I try to go every time I'm in the city.
It is kind of tucked away in Little Italy but I think it's a hidden gem. It is a bit pricey...

I was at Da Sergio with my wife and some friends. We have been a number of times and it has become our favourite Italian restaurant in Ottawa.
There is a lot of variety on the menu in addition to the daily specials. The house red wine is very nice and reasonably priced. The food is some of the best...

We, admittedly, ventured into Ottawa's little Italy without reservations on a Labour day weekend Saturday night. We were turned away ... in the nicest way, from several bustling restaurants ... with likely stellar reputations, because they were full. We eventually walked down into the Da Sergio, and were welcomed into a quiet, neat restaurant. The waitress was efficient and friendly;... more
My boss took me there, very nice menu and ambience
I have been to this resaurant and did not enjoy the food what so ever,It is too small, the food was not fresh,It is way too dark and no parking. The menu is over priced for the quality and quanity of the food.It was my
If you want fresh, flavorful Italian food served with unpretentious attention in a quiet, intimate setting, this Preston Street gem is for you. Discovered by accident a few years ago, I have been here dozens of times for lunch or dinner and have never been disappointed. The food is consistently good (whether pasta, chicken, veal or fish), the owner takes pride in what he serves and claims he... more
Nice little Italian place with one of the best calamari appetizers.
This is without doubt the best Italian restaurant in a city with several good Italian restaurants. Unpretentious with original dishes. We have been going for several years, a few times a year, (we don't go out that much) and bring guests or refer friends to experience the pleasure. While my husband makes exceptional home made pasta, this is the only Italian restaurant he has experienced that... more
I have been going to Da Sergio's for over three years now and have never had a bad meal and / or service. Everything has always been very consistent and the ambience of this quaint restaurant is wonderful. Linda
A great taste experience from antipasto through to desert!
We ordered the specialty dish of the day. Seafood alfredo..absolutely delicious, with generous heaps of Salmon, scallops, shrimp, crab etc. We always leave this restaurant happy with our tastebuds satisfied.
