The Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Edmonton while offering the scenic serenity of the citys picturesque River Valley
Welcome to Crowne Plaza, a chain of full service, upscale hotels. Here visitors can experience the utmost in convenience and top-notch event facilities. Crowne plaza caters to business travelers and to the meetings and conventions market.
Centrally located downtown, the Crowne Plaza, a round 24-story tower sitting on the edge of a cliff overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, possesses some of the city's best views (best seen from La Ronde, the hotel's revolving restaurant). The nicely furnished standard rooms aren't huge, though the wedge-shaped design means that they are broadest toward the windows, where you'll spend time... more
I arrived after 3pm and my room was not ready. I was told that I would have to wait for an hour... I was able to move my flight up by an hour in order to allow me an our to prepare for my evening meetings, only to be informed that my room was not avaialble for another hour. After insisting to getting a room I was put into a little dump of a room with some old furniture and a wiew of a roof top... more
The staff service is just average. One elevator feels like it needs maintenance - the one close to the reception. Also, the pop machine where I stayed did not have the pepsi refilled.
Chose this hotel because of hot tub, sauna and pool. To get to pool area you had to walk through hallway between conference rooms. To get into the hot tub there were about 8 steps, not great for someone with limited mobility. Also the hot tub was not always working. Rather inconvenient. However the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the restaurant was excellent. I was not impressed to... more
It took me 15 minutes to check in as the front desk as the guy was talking on the phone without acknowledging me. I was the only one in line. They "lost" my room service request for breakfast and to boot sent me a bill for parking without indicating at the time of check in that there was a charge. Rooms are shabby but not horrible. Internet was fine. Decor is dated. Not worth the nightly room... more
The staff were very unhelpful, in fact if there was an award for delivering poor service these guys would win..if they could be bothered, which based on our experience they couldn't. The fittings in the room were falling off, the pool was cold & the drinks machines were empty. It is a $25 cab ride to the mall, contrary their statement that the mall is nearby. Pay the extra & stay somewhere... more
Hotel staff were friendly. Room was very dated and poorly lit.
I rented two rooms for one week. The rooms were small. The front desk staff said the right things but were unfriendly. The hotel staff was unfriendly. One of the rooms did not have a refrigerator. The hotle store clerk was very rude. I did not enjoy my stay.
This hotel is in a very good location as it is close to all amenities.
Had to pay for parking in a tight terrible garage , which should we be told about when booking. Also the pool is only 3-1/2 FT deep. Terrible for adults. No comp was offered the next day after loosing sleep due to fire alarm. I am writing this two days after being back in Calgary and am still very tired from the stay at this hotel. I like to travel out of the city now and then but this has been... more
Wireless signal very low in room and no cable connection. Worst food in a restaurant. Good, spacious room.
Ok place, getting old, needs reno's. Front desk help was rude and vehicle didn't fit in underground parking. Had to leave outside with no security in downtown Edmonton !!!
My family wanted to go to Edmonton for one night, so I spent a fair amount of time online looking for a decent hotel that wasn't too pricey - I settled on the coast hotel based on other reviews and the over all rating of 3.6 out of 5.0. Remember, we were only staying ONE night. We had to have two service calls for our room; one was for the air conditioner that was broke when we got there and... more
The guest services agent may look professional but they don't act like it!!! After paying the parking fee in their parking lot, and notice I can only parking till 6:00am. And I was told I will need to paying the hotel to allow me to park my till check out. When I turn down the offer, the agent comment how stupid I will be to wake up 6:00am in the morning to move my car!!! He also fail to inform... more
An excellent place to stay if you're looking for great value in a central location. We stayed two nights and were able to wake up and walk to nearby coffee shops and a mall. The room and hotel was clean. The room was a little small and a bit dark, but we were very satisfied about the good price we got by booking with Expedia. We will stay there again.
The biggest and really the only concern I had was the noise from near by construction. It appears that a new multi storey condo complex is going up beside the hotel. A little nasty waking up to construction work at 0700 on Saturday morning. The food was good, breakfast buffet was excellent. The location is only minutes from anything you would want to visit in Edmonton.
I think that this was once a great hotel but is now showing its age. The walls are very thin and the doors can be heard closing, as they all slam. I don't know what they have to add to keep doors from slamming but it kept me awake most of the night. I found some of the staff a little less helpful then I would expect. I was surprised that there was no fridge in the room and when I asked for... more
This hotel has a lot of maintenance problems. The toilets don't flush properly in our room and even in the guest washrooms in the lobby. The lightbulb burnt out in our room's hallway and the mini bar fridge doesn't work. However, they were able to provide a replacement fridge in our room which compensated for the broken mini bar fridge.
The room was dated and the pool was horrible and the beds were really hard.
Food was really good and staff was great
Well located. Nothing special, but very decent value. For I short business stay, I would return.
Run down, dirty, staff completely unhelpful. Parkade is atrocious and unsafe - let alone virtually impossible to move items between hotel and vehicle.
Avoid this hotel... Go elsewhere!!!
Due to weddings going on at this hotel on the weekend, there were parties going on all night long. Making noise complaints to the front desk was futile. It was difficult to get any sleep at all. Plus, due to no fault of the hotel, the fire alarm went off at 2am, which forced every man, woman, and chile to evacuate for the false alarm. Very disappointed at the lack of sleep due to these events.... more
Temperature of water was pathetic. Could not get the water warm enough to Shower!
The Rooms Smelled, The Hot Tub Was Very Dirty, Staff Was Nice But Slow, Rooms Were Dirty And Dark, And The Water Never Worked
Good downtown location. Good stay. Room was clean but dated. Room had LCD TV which was nice. Internet works for basic email and browsing but could not stream any videos. Rogers Cell phone coverage was spotty on 14th floor but worked close to the windows.
Used this hotel for the first time because it was close to the royal alex hospital. my stay was because my son had test at hospital and its location was excellent for the hospital and central edmonton. The beds were very comfortable and white and very clean. had a lunch and breakfast at this hotel. The meals were very good.Room service was within a good time. Was very pleased that the hotel... more
Upon arriving at hotel, front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. It was easy to see that they truly were happy that you had chosen to stay at their hotel. The room was very clean, neat and tidy. Ceiling in room had water stain damange, to which I submitted a report to the front desk upon noticing. The pool and hot tub was a great way to relax and unwind before a drink at their onsite... more
Despite some delays with the check-in process, everythign was fine. The hotel was able to recommend some restaurants within walking distance, and the one we picked was fabulous. The parking is not free, and the parkade is tiny and hard to navigate in an SUV. The breakfast was really expensive and not terribly exciting. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with free wireless internet (that was... more
A little surprised that the hotel would charge for parking per day. Also check in time is not until 3 p.m. so if you arrive early in a.m. for a conference, etc. you have to wait for a room.
Extremely good value for the standard of the hotel. Great sized rooms and an ideal location.
Hotel staff was very courteous and informed on the area, close to many amenities and 2 Tim Horton's within 2 blocks. As far as I'm concerned you cant go wrong!!
We were extremely pleased with this hotel. Staff was great and rooms were clean. Lots of extras in the room.
Great view, but the king size bed was very uncomfortable. But enjoyed we could walk to great restraunts.
Nice hotel, clean, everything worked, good food, nice people at service.
The food at the hotel was terrible. I am not sure the a 4 star rating necessarily means 4 star food, in this case it definitely did not. I ate 3 meals there and all were below my expectations. I would avoid eating at the hotel if you can. The staff are really nice and helpful, the food is just c@!p. Good thing I didn't have to pay for it... more
adequate restaurant, watch out for the hot water in the shower since it is difficult to regulate, slow in replacing light bulb, good value for the price
Good quality hotel. Did not get a chance to use the spa services but prices looked very reasonable. Would stay again.
A short cab ride to the IndyCar race track, and walking only a few blocks to malls and Churchill Square
We had a problem with our reservation. For some reason it was not in their system. They gave us free coffee and checked us in anyway so we could relax after a four hour drive. The room was so comfortable and private and offered a spectacular view of downtown Edmtonton. I was very impressed by the hotel staff at the front desk. They were highly professional and courteous. I would return to the... more
Right down town and close to the train. we were in town for a football game so it worked out very well
From parking to c heck-in, everything went smoothly. Room was spacious, and beds were comfortable. Room included mini-fridge, which is always a bonus! Conveniently located by the LRT and restaurants. Would stay here again.
You have to pay $14 for parking at the hotel overnight. Take that into consideration when pricing out your trip.
I come to Edmonton to visit my family, the location is perfect and the staff are always
very friendly. The parking is also very convenient and the rooms are always just what I
need.
Everything about the room was great, very modern and up to date, the room was totally clean, it had everything you would need, and the bathroom was excellent too. For the price you can't beat it.
Hotel is older, clean and quiet.rooms are not large.staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. The restaurant was decent.we enjoyed our stay and would stay again . Parking is an additional $17 per night per vehicle.
We were surprised with the beautiful King Suite we booked! It was huge, with a full dining table for 6 in a separate area from the king bed. 2 TVs and lots of amentities. However... I arrived at 2:45, check-in is at 3. I asked to check in and was told "I'll see IF we have something available." I was only fifteen minutes early and I was sure she was going to tell me I had to wait 15 minutes! The... more
The staff at the Chateau Lacombe were extremely helpful and friendly. They would be the main reason we would return to this hotel! I've had the pleasure of hosting several events at the Coast Edmonton Plaza over the past few months and am always impressed with the quality of the service and food. The Coast staff are always well prepared, flexible, and attentive.

I really liked this hotel. The bed was a dream. The view from floor 20 was spectacular. A newspaper was delivered in the morning. There was a little 'relaxation' pack on the bed. The service was good and the breakfast was great. Added to all that is its great location. Wonderful place to stay!
The hotel is good over all, clean and very spacious rooms. But most of the rooms have no views - mine had a view of the adjoining building. The internet is very slow. The reception told that they are unable to offer internet connection fast enough to stream online videos, which seemed a little ridiculous to me. They also didn't... more
We had to be in Edmonton for Medical Tests. The staff at this hotel smoothed the entire experience out for us. From the Concierge taking us to the Hospital and picking us up to the Front Desk being so friendly, our stay could not have been more caring!
We had family staying at the hotel, so we visited the restaurant down stairs for dinner which was a mistake. The waitress was slow and didn't know what she was doing, there was only 3 tables in the whole restaurant, but couldn't clear tables, refill on drinks took 20 minutes no matter what you ordered. Missed a complete order for... more
This centrally located downtown hotel is right in the heart of Edmonton's business section.

The hotel staff was unprofessional, and needed better customer service training. I booked and paid for my hotel in advance, yet they still took a pre-auth payment from my visa for $350 in error. This hotel was very reasonable for my stay in Edmonton. Located In central downtown made it easy access for other areas. Staff were friendly; restaurant was good with reasonably priced dinners.
The Coast was great value for money compared to some of the other downtown Edmonton hotels. Parking is cheaper, internet is free, gym is decent. It's not the poshest or fanciest hotel, but it really had everything we needed at a fair price. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good value as well.
The Coast Edmonton Plaza is perfect for our purposes, both in terms of the quality of accommodation and the location. Also the staff is consistently pleasant, obliging, and efficient. We will certainly stay there again--and book through Skoosh. One slight problem this time, and it may have been just with our room: the water in the shower never got beyond luke-warm.
We would stay there again. Clean, helpful and well located.
Pleasant, obliging staff; useful shuttle service; good location; internet access; well kept; fair value. Would certainly recommend it to others.
I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in downtown Edmonton. It is right in the heart of the city with all the shopping close by and the LRT is a block away which makes it great for getting to Rexall Place. Great rooms and amenities and super friendly staff. Great value all around!
This is an older hotel with somewhat dated but functional furnishings. It's a pretty good value for money being in downtown Edmonton. Close to Jasper Ave and shopping.
I regularly go through Edmonton and I really like the Coast. It's very central, the staff are friendly and it's pretty nice, too. I do wish they had a better gym, though the hot tub and pool are pretty nice.
Hotel is in about the best location for Edmonton. I arrived on a busy rodeo weekend to find that the hotel had not pre-checked me in and assigned a room already, however they made up for that by upgrading me to a suite on the top floor. Ask for rooms on floors 21 and 22, the best and biggest.
Dated hotel eventhough they say it is renovated. Only the TV and bedding is recent. Very dirty bathrooms and they did not change my sheets after 4 days! Internet is hit or miss. A overall bad experience
Stayed one night at this hotel in one of their Comfort Suites on the 24th floor. It was clean, well presented and the bed gave me a good night's sleep which is important if you are a frequent traveller. I also enjoyed a couple of meals in the restaurant in the lobby.
the location is good downtown. the staff was accomodatingPriceline reservation said that it included a free breakfast, which was not on the hotel reservation, but the manager took care of it and gave me a comp. coupon for breakfast, which was ve\n\nrooms getting a little dated, especially the bathroom. The TV sits on a small end table that is too low to watch from in bed.The beds were only twin... more

This hotel looks nice from the outside. It's tall. It stands out. Going rate was around $150 CAD. People are nice enough but the property isn't. I don't think this place should be commanding $150 CAD.

Just spent a night at Coast Edmonton Plaza and had an amazing sleep - really great bed and pillows, and for a frequent traveller that goes a long way. Really good location. I was attending a conference at the Shaw Centre so it was a nice walk. Close to the City Centre mall and a Starbucks. Free internet was a plus.\n\nBreakfast was pretty expensive tho the view was lovely. I ended up buying groceries from the mall and eating in my room.\n\nI ended up extending my stay by one day and the hotel gave me the same rate I paid with priceline.
Felt that the meeting rooms and accommodations met my expectations except for the food, unable to eat in the restaurant or at the event on Friday due to no/limited gluten free items. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a grocery store close by and for the most part there is transportation available very close by.
Check in was a breeze. The guest rooms need work (dated). Well, at least my room was dated. Okay to stay if only for 1 night. Great food at the bar but expect a wait. Only one person working the bar/restaurant when we were there. She was running back and forth mixing drinks and taking food orders. So if you're... more
I stay here all the time for business and it's a great place. Reasonably priced, centrally located and great staff! There is a restaurant on location so it's very convenient. Don, the Concierge is a gem!
I was very impressed with the helpful staff and clean, well-kept, comfortable rooms. The staff were accommodating, very helpful, friendly and nice- we had several special requests and they handled them promptly and cheerfully. This hotel is so much more than you would expect looking at it from the street! I will definitely be coming back.
This is my third and probably last review of this property. I am in Edmonton on business 5- times a year and usually alternate between this and the HIE down the road mainly for Priority Club points.

I stayed at this hotel over Christmas, and it was very enjoyable. The room is clean and well kept, enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Room service food is great! Reasonable and comfortable with a convenient location in downtown Edmonton. Will definitely stay again.
This hotel is trying to be a good place however the decor and furniture are very outdated. They have a lot of nice touches such as the bedding and pillows.
Service has been adequate and the price was reasonable.
Definitely needs updating. Room was not clean. Staff was very nice. Close to downtown businesses. The staff in the dining room made suggestions once they found out about not having gluten and made a special effort to bring great substitutes. Not sure if I would stay again at this location. Unusual for a Coast property.
My wife and I have five kids and thought a trip to the city just her and I would be a great escape. I stayed at the Crown 15 years ago and remembered it being fancy so thought I would get a room there. Yikes, 15 years later this place looks like the day I left except sans any maintenance.... more

The Crown offers a comfortable stay. Significant staff turnover in recent years has really impacted the feeling of family. It's good for a quick overnight trip to Edmonton. The staff are helpful and always kind. The one thing that could use an upgrade is the exercise room. The equipment is aging and it's always super hot in the room.
Stayed here at the property on business, the rooms were clean however the washroom was sub-par for the star rating when I booked it.
The staff was cordial and receptive, parking is at a premium.
Will consider staying here if I am in town.
Professionally and personally I spend 50 to 100 nights a year in hotels. Occasionally you have one of those trips or stays that just help take the dreariness out of living on the road. Really no complaints - hotel is easy to find, has ample parking (which you will PAY for, but you will at any hotel downtown), check in was quick and easy, rooms were spacious, (we stayed in King) and clean. - Only deal is in need of updating. When I stay here I am recognized by and remembered by some of the staff. Stay often.\n\nNice hotel over looking the river valley with a revolving restaurant on the top of the building.
The rooms came with 2 double beds, but they were absolutely tiny, too small for 2 people in 1 bed! So we had to sleep in separate beds. This hotel is handy if you want to stay in the city centre many shops and restaurants nearby. Room was clean and well appointed and the staff were great. Free wifi too! Only criticism is that the underground car park is £10 per day as it's managed independently. This wasn't clear on website.
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza to attend a conference at the convention center. It was a quick walk to the center, as well as a grocery store and several good bars and restaurants. My room was large and clean, and wireless was free. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was round so your room was wedge shaped.\n\nThe hotel cleaning staff just walked into the room at 8:00 in the morning. We hadn't checked out yet.
The staff was totally unfriendly, the room had no refrigerator (although there was a place for one), and the bed was awful. We moved to a Best Western after three days and it was fabulous - indoor pool with a slide, a workout room, a free business center, and in the room - a microwave and refrigerator! For an expensive downtown hotel, the bed should have been better at the Chateau LaCombe.
Good Location, comfortable bed, nice linens - great, hot shower.\n\nAge of the hotel beginning to show. quality of room service dinner was average.\n\nGreat location in Downtown Edmonton. I found the hotel quiet.
“Great location in Downtown Edmonton. I found the hotel quiet.”
Front desk staff was unhelpful and rude.\n\nWould never stay again due to the rude desk staff.
close to river\n\nmold around windows\n\ncomfortable stay. glad i had priceline deal and not regular rate for quality of room received.
Overall experience satisfactory
Convenient, easy to find, and comfortable beds.\n\nDesk staff were not knowledgeable about area or driving directions to major highway.
nothing.\n\nthe staff was so rude and unhelpful\n\nnothing to say but the worst experience I've ever had.
The gym has a great selection of free weights 5lbs - 60lbs, sauna is great. Room had a small bar fridge for food!\n\nThey need to invest in modern vacuum cleaner as the unit used in my room didn't seem to pick up all the hair.\n\nThis is a pretty good hotel for the price, located right downtown, gym is great, sauna is great and room service is good. Cleaning staff is always super helpful.
Parking was easy.\n\nThe bathrooms were old, toilet was poor, and shower was old.
The beds were comfortable, clean, room also was clean.\n\nVery poor access from parking lot to hotel -not clean or user friendly.\n\nThe parking situation was not user friendly because of the access to and from the lobby. Staff were accommodating. The staff in the main restaurant were very friendly.
I did not expect to have to pay for parking besides the price of the hotel. Parking was expensive.
It was downtown.\n\nTowel rack was located too near toilet.
Nice rooms, very comfy bed.\n\nHave to pay for parking an extra $13/day. It's kind of pricey.\n\nThe hotel is nice, it is on a hill. Clean rooms, comfy beds, flat screen TV, coffee machine. Have to pay for parking (I guess that's because of the location). Within walking distance to a supermarket and few eateries.
Nnothing\n\nRroom was designed in 1995.\n\nI have nothing good to say for this hotel. I have stayed with them in the past but this time just after I booked the hotel room I needed to change my plans.
The room was clean and comfortable and the location was convenient.\n\nThe service was poor and low class, the restaurant food was expensive and very poor as was the service.\n\nI would not stay at this hotel again.
Excellent stay with a handicapped senior, very easy to get around, everything was close.\n\nThis hotel is very easy to find and easy to navigate the underground parking. The price for parking was more reasonable than other downtown hotels. The rooms were fresh and clean and well arranged. The air conditioner was quiet, easy to control.
Hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate me.\n\nThe location of the fire alarm adjacent to the bathroom. It sounded off twice with a slight increase in humidity.
Good value for the price, friendly staff, ordinary restaurant
This hotel was clean, but not as quiet as I would have liked. The location was great - close to shopping and convention centres.
Went to this place for 2 nights. After checking in through very rude staff, we went to our room and got in bed. No sooner did I get in the sheets, I started getting very itchy. Looked down and the bed was full of little black bugs. They looked like fleas. After complaining to the night manager, he told us there was nothing he could do. The next day we found out that they allow pets in this... more
I do not agree with these comments, I stayed at the Crowne Plaza while on business and I had a wonderful experience! The service was friendly, the rooms were recently renovated and the Revolving Restaurant had amazing food and a spectacular view! All around would definitely book again!!
Bought a night here on a silent auction so we stayed for our Christmas Party and for fun! Our room was by the elevator and was rated Superior. I never heard the elevator. I never heard the doors slam like in hotels or noise. I never heard neighbors. I have never seen such friendly staff by housekeeping and the restaurant. It must display how they are managed! They appeared to love their jobs!... more
I've lived in 3 countries on 3 different continents and traveled the world and I've never experienced such bad customer service as I did at the coast. A group of us booked 8 rooms 11 months in advance. At the last minute, without informing us they moved all of us 4 kilometers further away from where we wanted to be (The Grey Cup Parties) They offered no apology and offered no compensation for... more
the hotel is in a great location for walking around jasper ave. and city center mall with all the glass towers surronding it. the $15.00 a day parking fee is a bit of a turn-off and i would have thought regesterd guests would not have to pay it. other than that.. a nice stay, and if going in for a one nighter would probabley stay there again.
I stay at this hotel quite often when I'm in Edmonton- but not choice, it's where my company books the reservation. It's a dated property, but it's not bad. The carpets look about 30 years old, and there is never enough lighting in the rooms once the sun has gone down. The heating & air conditioning system is old and NOISY. The air is also very dry. The rooms have an empty mini refrigerator -... more
There is a daily charge for parking, and the elevators and parkade were under repair.
“We were amazed that we got such a great room for so low a price. The hotel has a great view and has a great look to it, save the miniscule lobby.”
“I would not recommend this hotel, for the price and location, there are better ones available. There are plenty of beggars and homeless people around.”
Great location, but ended up on a smoking floor with a smelly room. Asked for a non smoking room...I misinterpreted your add..."Comfort room 1 queen bed smk free local phone calls / daily newspaper city view aaa or caa membership id required at check-in for this rate.."I thought this meant smk free, not smoking and free local phone calls.
“We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Good location. Nice lobby. Good parking.”
“Nice older property. Room no fancier than a decent modern 2-star, but certainly suited my simple needs.”
“Good facilities, good value, courteous staff, free Internet.”
“The hotel was great, I didn't want to get out of bed that's how comfy the beds were. We were also traveling with a swim team and the hotel staff was nice enough to dry our towels.”
“ Best view and loved free newspaper (globe and mail). ”
“Staff were friendly, room needed updating. pool was a little cool and needed a little cleaning. overall, not bad for the price,”
“Excellent staff; very nice, but old hotel(bathroom had chip in bathtub), have to pay for parking.”
“The lobby carpet was dirty or very outdated. The room was nice, but also outdated.”
Great rooms, excellent service and an amazing breakfast.
Emplyees are very helpful and friendly, the business centre, has four computers and two printers, the bed is very comfortable, the best one on my trips.
“Room was clean and functional. Lighting in room could have been better as it seemed a bit too dark. Furnishings seemed a bit dated, but was quite functional.”
Had a good experience here. Parking was an extra $12 per night. Free wireless Internet.
Just stayed a week at this hotel. Found the rooms nice and clean. No complaints about the rooms whatsoever, but the food in the restaurant on the main floor was overpriced and low quality food. I had chicken stuffed with crab, and it was a leg or something with a big bone (I thought they only stuffed chicken breast?), and the crab meat seemed to be the cheap minced kind from the can. Also the... more
“I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was nice. I like the size of the room.”
Great location for where we neede to be
“I will not book a downtown 2.5 hotel in edmonton again!”
The Coast Hotels are great, and this was no exception. Very clean, lovely pool and hot tub - a sauna too, excellent, high quality breakfast buffet available, and great customer service. We stayed at the Coast Hillcrest in Revelstoke on this trip too - also excellent. A great setting in the woods just a couple of minutes from the city.
I have stayed here before and for the price, its a great hotel for downtown location and comfy beds. The hallways need updating (looked like Miami Vice!) and are a bit smelly. Housekeeping staff was great, as was the pub staff. For the price, I'd stay here again.
Good hotel, excellent location and breakfast is good too.
“We liked it. Only stayed one night, but was a good experience overall.”
the price I got was a good deal. it is better than my expectation.

I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in downtown Edmonton. It is right in the heart of the city with all the shopping close by and the LRT is a block away which makes it great for getting to Rexall Place. Great rooms and amenities and super friendly staff. Great value all around!
“Hotel parking was reasonable and the corner suite we had was very spacious. It also included a in room fridge.Restaurant food was good, the buffets gave one lots of choices.”
Booked this hotel on their website, the site made it look great. Once in the room, the carpet was lifting throughout the room, wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the windows were so filthy you could hardly see out of them. Parking was deplorable, and there was a charge for parking in the attached parkade ($10.00/night). The TV was a c@!%!y old 26"", the enamel on the bathtub was peeling off.... more
“Located nicely down town easy to get to, friendly staff, eat in on the 24th floor didn't have reservations but they were very kind to find us a table very quickly, even though very busy. Great food, highly recommended, will definitely stay there again.”
Stay here constantly for business (not my choice - contracted). Rooms are average... Bathroom quite small and toiletries cheap (large bottles of shampoo/soap in shower for guests to reuse - yuck). Desk is too small, my chair was broken last time. The room temperature is hard to control, beds are average (not pillowtop like most these days) and lighting poor. Wireless signal is far too weak on... more
We liked the classy look of the hotel and all its amenities. Parking is not that good but the daily charge is fair. The only problem is that the washroom fan wasn't working and that's not acceptable. There wasn't a small fridge provided although there was room for it. We asked for a small fridge at the reception desk and this lady said one would be brought up immediately. It never came.... more
“We received a phantom wake up call three hours before we wanted to wake up. My son was also burnt by faulty plumbing in the shower. No consideration or concern by management. Customer service is dead in Edmonton. Not sure if this is a review of the hotel or of the city?”
“We had a lovely stay at this hotel for our first visit to Edmonton.
The service was friendly and accommodating.”
“Good location but could use a make over in the rooms.”
“I loved this hotel and the location is excellent for the traveler who would rather not drive every where. Easy connections to West Edmonton Mall, the Airport, in the heart of downtown and a short ways from the artsy section of Edmonton (Whyte Ave).”
“The lobby is nice and clean, however the age of the hotel is apparent once you see the rooms (i.e. worn and soiled hallway carpets and old wooden doors with a 1 inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I was also very annoyed when I received a bill for parking at the end of my stay for $9.00 a day that we were never told about. The high end restaurant also closes early if they... more
“Not worth the money. Large roomy room, free coffee machine (actually decent coffee); free internet was a bonus (brought my own cable). Great location to LRT and restaurants. Downtown is kind of dead though.”
“Have stayed here several times and never been disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms or by the staff. It could use some upgrades and renovations (some things have gotten a little well-used) but I can do without newer less worn items if its clean and their rooms always are. Have talked to the housekeepers and they all seem to take pride in their jobs and several had been there for many... more
“I liked the hotel very good service! And as well very friendly staff.”
“The hotel was beautiful and clean. It is close to the mall, good location. However the bed was really uncomfortable, so much so, we had sore backs the next day. We tossed and turned all night and could not get comfortable. Very tired in the morning. I was very disappointed and will not return again.”
“The good: 1) The bed is comfortable and the sleep aid program with the CD and the lavender linen spray were nice touches. 2) A printed list of the TV channels. Simple yet helpful! 3) The fitness room has brand new equipment. Probably best hotel gym in the city. 4) Free wired/wireless internet. The bad: 1) The decor of the hotel and the rooms are extremely outdated. The decor just screams out... more
“The hotel overall is comfortable, the bed was excellent and in the end, a good sleep is the most important part for me. I did get the impression that the maintenance plan was following the old adage "if isn't broken, don't fix it." There were parts of the hotel that had been repaired, but the repaired part did not match with the rest of the decor. A creative renovation plan could easily make... more
“The hotel staff was so very willing to assist with our requests and went out of their way to accommodate us. They had 3 huge weddings to look after and still, they were calm, friendly and fantastic! Would highly recommend Chateau Lacombe to friends!”
“This hotel is close to other hotels in the area but is too far away from the West Edmonton Mall (if you intend to go there). The hotel was very clean and the staff was great!”
“Found the hotel needs serious upgrades, my bathtub was peeled 2 layers, rug was clean but stained lovely location but lets keep up with the times and hotels around you.”
I think this is a decent hotel. I would stay here again. The only complaint I have is that when I booked the trip, I was under the impression that free shuttle service to and from the airport was included, because the information that travel website provides for the hotel about what benefits are included states that the hotel provides shuttle service, so I cancelled my car rental from the... more
Great hotel overall for business stay, however I was not able to access the internet from my room as advertised. It took many hours on the help line and some high tech gadgets to finally get poor reception. If you cant get reliable service, please do not advertise it as an amenity. I started by saying good service... Very patient, very prompt service in all areas.
Assigned non-smoking room was formerly smoking; unfortunately it still stank. Customer service was excellent though not effective for diminishing the smell. Otherwise the stay was fantastic; nice firm bed, cable, clean bathroom with good shower, nice view of the River Valley. Use the parking lot beneath the building for $8/day. Restaurant upstairs is overpriced but the view of the city is worth... more
There was only one thing that bothered me, I went to get breakfast in the morning, (continental $8, hot continental $12) I decided got the $12 one. I got my eggs benedict and realized that the whole egg shell was still on the half egg. When I complained and asked for a discount the waitress said ""That will be *insert total cost here*"" I tried to explain to her that I was unsatisfied with my... more
“Other than the window thing, the hotel was quite nice for a couple not for a family. They could not accommodate the family i.e., there was a room with a king size bed available. So I am not sure whether that is a hotel. The hotel itself was clean, well kept and the staff was very courteous. The location was convenient for our activities and we enjoyed our stay.”
“Overall satisfactions with friendly staffs and clean environment. Convenient location and easy access to town and shopping mall. The gift shop located at the hotel was closed whole day.”
“Over all we thought the hotel service was gracious and the location was great for our needs.”
“Great location downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Wireless high speed Internet was great. The only thing wrong with this hotel was the filthy carpet in the elevator from the parking garage. The need to make it tile or replace the carpet more often.”
“I would highly recommend this hotel for the weary, burnt out leisure guest trying to get away from the madness of the world. We were treated superbly and the beautiful feather down duvets were so inviting. We also enjoyed the sleep CD and sleep enhancing package. Reservations accommodated our requests and we had a beautiful room with a valley view. Awesome!”
The hotel was lovely and the staff was excellent. However, the air conditioning was broken the entire week I was there and the hotel did not have internet service as stated in their listing . Also parking cost an additional $72.
“Great place to stay for a relaxing, quiet get-away.”
“There was a blonde girl with glasses who worked there showed a long face all the time. Tourists pay to stay at the hotel and deserve better service. Smiles should be free!”
“An all around good hotel, not great but good. The pull out sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable if someone needs to sleep on it.”
“This hotel in Edmonton was very clean and well maintained. I would encourage any business traveler to stay here, there is no pool or hot tub though and so families might not have anything to do.”
“Although the location is excellent, I was surprised that this caliber hotel had such small rooms. The hotel's website was a little deceiving.”
“The hotel was generally pleasant. The staff was attentive and friendly. However, attention to detail and cleanliness was lacking. The carpet in the lobby was worn and needed to be replaced. Lobby furniture was unkempt. The curtains in our room were in disrepair.”
“Not impressed with the parking. As you enter the parking area, the roof is caving in. I'm sure it is safe but not a good feeling. The room we were in is small and so so for cleanliness. It would not be a hotel that I would choose to stay in.”
“Because of the downtown location and parking space being at a premium, there was an additional charge for parking. This made the total price less of a bargain.”
I'm a regular guest at this hotel (on business) and it has never been a disappointment. Truly whatever you require all under one roof...even a complimentary packet of hot chocolate in the room if you're neither a coffee nor tea drinker. The basket of fresh apples at reception is a lovely touch. It's hard to resist taking one. The bathrooms are clean, the rooms quiet, and the hotel scores... more
“Great service I will continue to recommend you !!”
Purchased the hotel for US$35/night on priceline. It is a three-star hotel, but an old one. Best part is they have FREE, UNLIMITED WI-FI access in every room.
