The Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Edmonton while offering the scenic serenity of the citys picturesque River Valley
Welcome to Crowne Plaza, a chain of full service, upscale hotels. Here visitors can experience the utmost in convenience and top-notch event facilities. Crowne plaza caters to business travelers and to the meetings and conventions market.
Centrally located downtown, the Crowne Plaza, a round 24-story tower sitting on the edge of a cliff overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, possesses some of the city's best views (best seen from La Ronde, the hotel's revolving restaurant). The nicely furnished standard rooms aren't huge, though the wedge-shaped design means that they are broadest toward the windows, where you'll spend time... more
The bed was quite possibly the worst bed I've ever slept in. We barely got any sleep and the shower also got stuck and we couldn't turn it off. This hotel is completely overpriced and overrated. The breakfast cost $20/person. Go somewhere else!!
The hotel was downtown Edmonton, which meant we ran into some interesting people at night. The hotel was surrounded by several pubs, restaurant and fast food options etc. Walking distance to Landmark cinema and downtown mall. It was an easy drive to big box outlets and the west Edmonton mall.
The hotel room was nicely renovated, staff friendly and we enjoyed the concierge lounge service provided with our room. We did however find room to warm and the Manger said it was central heating so couldn't be adjusted. We also had problems with toilet backing up into shower but we were compensated for that by the Manger.
Currently undergoing reno's but other than a bit of a maze through the lobby it did not affect my stay. One down side to my stay was the hot water from the sink never really was much more than warm. Shower was hot though
My daughter booked the honeymoon suit and a week and a half before her wedding they called and canceled it on her and said that it was beening renovated. she booked her room a while back why would they let her book the honeymoon suite then cancel it on her they never said anything about it Being renovated when she booked it and then Call her a week and a half before her wedding!!! It was to... more
We've stayed here before - always enjoyed our stay. This time, though, we ended up in a room that was not quite as maintained, needed a little TLC and had only a double bed instead of a queen. The hotel claims that it is recently renovated, but I'm not sure about all of the rooms. The finish on our tub was peeling and parts of the room looked a little worn.
The hotel is bright and has a cheerful atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, helpful making my stay a very pleasant experience. The bed was very comfortable affording me a good nights sleep, which was very important for the purpose of my visit. Thanks for a great experience.
Looking at the hotel from outside and it seems that were getting good service, fast forward into checking-in. The lady on the desk just ignored me for a while without saying anything like "could you wait for a moment" and it seems that she is doing nothing at all then after 10 minutes she finally talked to me and did stuff. I always remember and checked if I declared that we have 4 people... more
Although the staff were very helpful. Check in took so long. The parking is very expensive. The rooms were very outdated. The eggs benedict I had for breakfast did not come with hollandaise sauce but with mayonaise. The floors on the reception are very rough due to construction so I almost tripped. They originally checked me in to the wrong floor. We only stayed because we had been going to... more
The taxi dropped us off at the front door and as we struggled with our luggage, the doorman stepped outside to help us collect ourselves. Inside the desk clerk was gracious and friendly. She accommodated us with an early registration. After being awake most of the night on a cold, hard train seat, it was a welcome experience. Our room was as we had requested and nicely appointed. We had no... more
It was a great stay.We arrived early and they let us check in even if its not 3 pm so we had a little time to rest after a long drive. The hotel staff was very accomodating and friendly. One thing i dont like about the hotel is that the parking is not free and to think that most of the hotel have their free parking.
In the heart of downtown, the hotel was reasonably priced and made our Monday morning errands much more reasonable to accomplish. While the bathrooms and windows could be upgraded, the beds had been upgraded and were extremely comfortable.
Got mid-September off-season rate ($105.00) plus $15.00 for each night parking (booked through Expedia). Poor breakfast service, left waiting after coffee served, had to get up and approach staff to ask to order breakfast. All else was well.
Was on the Concierge floor which was renovated. Very much liked the floor, lounge and guest room. Internet was very fast, room amenities were great! I wish that they had movie channels though as there is not much as far as television options. Had brunch on Sunday at La Ronde which was very good. Pricey but good.
We recently attended a function at Chateau Lacombe Hotel. Everything, the function the hotel was great. A wonderful room comfy beds, wonderful people. There were some renovations being done but they had no effect on our stay. good job Chateau Lacombe Hotel.
I arrived from a late flight (1:30 am) on business and was given a very quiet room on the 10th floor. Staff were very nice, and the room was without any problems (clean, well appointed, nice view, and easy access to elevator). The parking lot is adjacent (and only $15.00), but it is dark and not secure (it might well make some people feel unsafe while walking through it at night - do ask the... more
Hotel lobby undergoing minor renovation. The plumbing in the room could've used some improvemet because you hear sounds from the water pressure flowing through the plumbing and it is loud and you feel a bit of vibration as you turn the water on.
I hope I don't get charged for the missing appliances. With the alarm clock I thought to myself that is annoying not to have one but then I thought I can use a wake up call instead. In the morning when I noticed the missing hair dryer I put two and two together: someone must have stolen the items.
The hotel driveway was under construction, so it was pretty congested. When I arrived the bellmen were very helpful to direct me to where to park. They offered valet service which was great and helped me unload all of my bags. I had a junior suite which was perfectly layed out and felt like I was at home rather than in a hotel.
This was my worst experience staying in a Hotel worldwide. Rooms are small and overpriced. Everything is expensive. Can you imagine a hotel will charge $4 for each tea bag, when I asked for it? Room telephone did not work. When asked front desk they said we will ask maintenance which never showed up. Internet did not work in my room for entire stay & again same reply about maintenance which... more
The hotel is old and is showning it's age, rooms are out of date and very beat up. Walls are marked, furniture out of date and beat up, bath rooms are in need of serious renovation. They are replacing the windows in the rooms and they put me directly below the workers. So at 8:00am the drills and saws start up couldn't even hear the TV or talk on phone. Asked to be moved they placed me in a... more
This rooms in this hotel need a serious upgrade. I had a Jr Suite, the sagging sofa looked like it came out of a second hand store, the bathroom was worse... the finish was peeling off the bath tub, the make up mirrror had rust on it, overall not a great experience.
Stayed in a Single King with a view of the North Saskatchewan River. Bed was very comfortable. Only real knock in the room was the finish on the tub was coming off. Maids kept the room very clean and well supplied. Building was quiet. Common areas were clean. Décor of the hotel is pleasant and acceptable. Clientelle is more business class, government types and well to do. Parking is an extra... more
Staff very friendly and the shuttle van both driver were very good.
I am here now having lunch and it is very good. I only stayed one night but the hotel was clean and nice and the service is wonderful. I asked for a late check out and they were fine with that at no extra charge!! I would come and stay here again.
I was a little worried because I have never booked on line like this and the price just blew me away. Our room was really nice, the staff was great! It was great to come back to the hotel, jumping into our suits and going to pool room and just RELAXED! After walking, watching our daughter & grad-daughter try on wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses, that was great way to end the day. The... more
The hotel staff were friendly and the room was spacious. The bathroom wasn't overly clean, hair behind door, dust on the fan etc. The pool area was dirty, and there were no towels.I'd recommend this hotel if you can get a low rate but you would be disappointed paying regular rates. There's a Boston pizza, tim's and Subway within a block. Parking is $20/day.
This hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the downtown area - Jasper Avenue is just half-a-block away. McEwan University and Norquest College a few blocks away. Top floors offer an amazing view of the city and they offer smoking rooms still. Great amenities like the fitness centre, the pool, the jacuzzi, and the steam room - open till 11:00 p.m.House keeping staff was efficient and... more
Hotel is great and eco friendly. Parking is $20 Canadian dollars/day. They also hold $230 dolllars on your credit card for possible damages to the room. I was not informed of this practice until I saw the charge on my credit card and called to inquire
I went in Edmonton for the first time. The hotel room was very comfortable. Also other amenities provided were good enough. Just the room didn't have proper lighting. Also hotel should provide enough sugar and coffee-cups to make tea/coffee. rest of the things were perfect.
Stayed there during my one week visit to the Edmonton and I seriously can't fault the place. Location is fantastic and within reach of everything. Area is very safe and sound. I would definitely stay there in my next visit in December.
This was a nice hotel with reasonably priced rooms. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean and location is great. Overall, if you need a hotel in downtown Edmonton I would recommend this one, great value and would not hesitate to stay here again.
My husband and I have stayed at the hotel many times and have always been pleased. No different this time. Room was clean, staff was pleasant and very helpful. The only drawback is that there is no access to the ATM machine from inside the hotel after a certain hour, so can be a little scary, but otherwise very pleased... more
Had a quite 7 night stay at my week off from work.No free breakfast ! Guest room was very clean and the hotel staff very friendly. The hotel restaurant was good with a good price. Had a really nice stay @ this hotel for 9 nights this past march/april and really enjoyed my stay here. The front desk staff did their best to accommodate guest needs. Rooms were always cleaned daily. The restaurant has a full menu @ good prices; there is also a buffet daily as well.

After a long and tiring but fun day at the West Edmonton Mall to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, we were looking forward to resting. Had some difficulties getting timely front desk support, but overall it was a good stay. Good beds, decent rooms- maybe a bit overpriced for what you get, but only by $20 or so. This isn't the fanciest hotel, so not sure what people expect. I read some of the reviews below and roll my eyes.......people are so fussy. I've stayed here 1/2 a dozen times or so for the purposes of business in Edmonton. The Coast Plaza Hotel in Edmonton offered a very nice few days recently. The hotel appeared

Our stay was delightful. The clerk at the front counter was in training and could not have been better. Very courteous, efficient and helpful.

I booked a room that was supposed to be a non-smoking non-pet friendly, however, after unpacking I accidentally found out that the guest who was there the day before had a dog! Easily the worst hotel I have stayed at. The entire place seems like it is going to collapse into the river. Stayed in the Coast Edmonton Plaza for the Easter weekend with my family nice reception area and a private underground parking which you had to pay ,stayed in a superior double which was a nice room with a good view ,nice pool area in the hotel my only complaint is they scanned my husbands credit card on arrival which we... more
Affordable stay ! The beds comfortable ! The breakfast was great and the staff amazing ! only downfall was no where to take your dog for a bathroom break with the hotel being pet friendly it needs a little patch of green grass somewhere :)
I always try to stay in this hotel as the location is very agreeably for my work. Room was clean, quiet, and warm. The front desk service was great, they were very helpful for all my travel needs. Thank you for the great stay!
No elevator from parkade to hotel. Access is dark and feels unsafe.
Rooms need renovation and the food is pretty bad......soggy English muffin on Eggs Benedict, coffee refill was requested but forgotten. Bar is open to the lobby which was noisy . No ambiance

Rooms are dirty, stained and the place has a feeling of uncleanliness. I did not expect to see stains of the walls or ceiling or have wall paper fraying. Yes, looking back it was a bad idea to take what I thought was going to be "a" pillow case which turned out to be "two" off the cleaning ladies cart. Morning buffet is complete and excellent. Room is clean.
1- i had to turn off the noisy heater fan (major)

We arrived at the hotel quite early and expected to leave our luggage and come back later, however we were given an early check in with a smile and at no additional cost. The place was welcoming and friendly. Even though our reservation was waylayed we enjoyed the lounge and the staff were enjoyable in all areas.
We booked a river view and did not get it but I still. Enjoyed the view. The cleanliness of the tub was a little below par and the building. Needs some TLC.
Good central location
Difficult to find while city was under construction
Great view of the river and city, delightful overnight stay, and pleasant service.
The beds were very comfortable!
Lots of parking!
The blow dryer in the room did not work called front desk to see if I could get another one. The lady was not very friendly. And it took over an hour and a half. When we were leaving the room to check out the man was just getting up to the floor. Very disappointed
Really enjoyed the continental breakfast and the option to choose the hot menu for such reasonable charge. It was a great stay. Thank you
Was a little disappointed when the full price of the buffet was on our final bill but the girls at the desk handled that quickly.
I liked how everything is Handled in Coast Edmonton plaza hotel, you make people fill at home no matter where they come from. I salute you for the excellent service you extended to me.
What i don't like is that i did like everything at coast Edmonton plaza hotel
Nothing to dislike!! Room, staff, food, location all fantastic !!
I liked the no obligation booking, the staff was nice, hotel is a little
dated but still nice.
I didn't like the parking options as I drive a truck and would
not fit in the underground parkade, the only other options were pay
$18.00 or wait till 6:00 to park in only a few designated spots on
the street for free...Had to park on the other side of the parking
lot on the street.
Friendly and helpful staff
Nice view from the bedroom
Safe place to stay
1. The line up for breakfast buffet was too long probably because it is a big hotel 2. The bathroom tiles were not very clean. 3. The bedsheets were very clean but a bit old (not very white)
The hotel is central in Edmonton
Gold location, large rooms and very clean
Location, hot tub, low noise level, good air conditioner. Elevators were quick and plentiful. Comfortable bed
No refrigerator in room, cramped fitness room, walls had stains on them, one towel was a rag not a towel. Registration staff not particularly friendly or helpful. Massage staff not helpful or friendly.
Front desk clerks flirting with boyfriend.
Close to downtown and parks on the river .price was good . Food at la ronde is good .
We expected much more from this place looks like there was nothing changed in the last 30 years .la ronde is very outdated and booring and over priced for todays standards
It's very close to city center.
It's a little noisy at night.
Location to shaw conference centre
Extra $ to have a fridge in room?!
When we first checked-in, we found the bathroom wasn't cleaned but the next day, the housekeeping lady was embarrased and polite enough about it and had our room cleaned appropriately for the following night at the hotel.
The beds, and free parking, location, river view room.
Run down windows leaking, front said free breakfast but charged, beat up
elevator, dirty carpet in rooms, no pool or gym, unhelp valet.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and quiet rooms. Good restaraunt. Overall good value for money.
Es liegt im Zentrum. Gutes Wifi.
Das Angebot im Hotelrestaurant ist dürftig. Man kann die Kleider nicht im Hotel Waschen.
I have stayed at this location many times as it is so close to my meeting locations and this trip was no different the proximity to our event venue and to shopping the next day was fantastic. The staff were great as my niece forgot her cell phone in the room after we checked out and she got it back no problem.

Room was in need of upkeep (fix dings in wall, paint) Missed having a mini-fridge Didn't get any maid service one day (and no, there was NOT a 'don't disturb' in the key slot) Chose this hotel as it seemed the best value. THEN I discovered that parking wasn't included. That extra $18 was an irritant when I've stayed at other downtown hotels where parking was included in the price.
The staff at the Chateau Lacombe were extremely helpful and friendly. They would be the main reason we would return to this hotel! The location is also great, but again, I cannot say enough about the friendly staff!!! A great experience.\n\nI did find that the hotel itself has become somewhat 'AGED' since my last stay there and could definitely use some upgrades... it appears to be a little... more
The hotel staff was unprofessional, and needed better customer service training. I booked and paid for my hotel in advance, yet they still took a pre-auth payment from my visa for $350 in error. The manager said it would be fixed right away, but it took 4 days to return the payment to me. I was very dissapointed. The view was beautiful, but the room was small and old. The pool was aweful! ... more
The Coast was great value for money compared to some of the other downtown Edmonton hotels. Parking is cheaper, internet is free, gym is decent. It's not the poshest or fanciest hotel, but it really had everything we needed at a fair price. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good value as well.
The Coast Edmonton Plaza is perfect for our purposes, both in terms of the quality of accommodation and the location. Also the staff is consistently pleasant, obliging, and efficient. We will certainly stay there again--and book through Skoosh. One slight problem this time, and it may have been just with our room: the water in the shower never got beyond luke-warm.
We would stay there again. Clean, helpful and well located.
Pleasant, obliging staff; useful shuttle service; good location; internet access; well kept; fair value. Would certainly recommend it to others.
I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in downtown Edmonton. It is right in the heart of the city with all the shopping close by and the LRT is a block away which makes it great for getting to Rexall Place. Great rooms and amenities and super friendly staff. Great value all around!
Hotel is in about the best location for Edmonton. I arrived on a busy rodeo weekend to find that the hotel had not pre-checked me in and assigned a room already, however they made up for that by upgrading me to a suite on the top floor. Ask for rooms on floors 21 and 22, the best and biggest.
Really good location. I was attending a conference at the Shaw Centre so it was a nice walk. Close to the City Centre mall and a Starbucks. Free internet was a plus.\n\nBreakfast was pretty expensive tho the view was lovely. I ended up buying groceries from the mall and eating in my room.\n\nI ended up extending my stay by one day and the hotel gave me the same rate I paid with priceline.
When I stay here I am recognized by and remembered by some of the staff. Stay often.\n\nNice hotel over looking the river valley with a revolving restaurant on the top of the building.
This hotel is handy if you want to stay in the city centre many shops and restaurants nearby. Room was clean and well appointed and the staff were great. Free wifi too! Only criticism is that the underground car park is £10 per day as it's managed independently. This wasn't clear on website.
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza to attend a conference at the convention center. It was a quick walk to the center, as well as a grocery store and several good bars and restaurants. My room was large and clean, and wireless was free. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I liked the view and the quietness of the room\n\nParking garage was somewhat stressful and costs an extra 15 bucks\n\nI enjoyed my stay although the front desk weren't not very informative. They just handed me my key and did not tell me where to go etc
Staff was very friendly\n\nBathroom ceiling paint was peeling\n\nGood location. Good value.
Exceptional service by the doorman and front counter customer service reps.\n\nPoor service, took forever to get seated for breakfast buffet that was not worth $40. Eggs were rubber with no taste!\n\nFor the age of this hotel, it is in very good condition and clean. For the most part the service was excellent except for the restaurant which we found slow and not very friendly compared to the... more
“It was a nice hotel, only thing is that parking should have been free.”
It was round so your room was wedge shaped.\n\nThe hotel cleaning staff just walked into the room at 8:00 in the morning. We hadn't checked out yet.
The staff was totally unfriendly, the room had no refrigerator (although there was a place for one), and the bed was awful. We moved to a Best Western after three days and it was fabulous - indoor pool with a slide, a workout room, a free business center, and in the room - a microwave and refrigerator! For an expensive downtown hotel, the bed should have been better at the Chateau LaCombe.
“Great location in Downtown Edmonton. I found the hotel quiet.”
Front desk staff was unhelpful and rude.\n\nWould never stay again due to the rude desk staff.
close to river\n\nmold around windows\n\ncomfortable stay. glad i had priceline deal and not regular rate for quality of room received.
nothing.\n\nthe staff was so rude and unhelpful\n\nnothing to say but the worst experience I've ever had.
I did not expect to have to pay for parking besides the price of the hotel. Parking was expensive.
Nice rooms, very comfy bed.\n\nHave to pay for parking an extra $13/day. It's kind of pricey.\n\nThe hotel is nice, it is on a hill. Clean rooms, comfy beds, flat screen TV, coffee machine. Have to pay for parking (I guess that's because of the location). Within walking distance to a supermarket and few eateries.
Hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate me.\n\nThe location of the fire alarm adjacent to the bathroom. It sounded off twice with a slight increase in humidity.
Bought a night here on a silent auction so we stayed for our Christmas Party and for fun! Our room was by the elevator and was rated Superior. I never heard the elevator. I never heard the doors slam like in hotels or noise. I never heard neighbors. I have never seen such friendly staff by housekeeping and the restaurant. It must display how they are managed! They appeared to love their jobs!... more
I've lived in 3 countries on 3 different continents and traveled the world and I've never experienced such bad customer service as I did at the coast. A group of us booked 8 rooms 11 months in advance. At the last minute, without informing us they moved all of us 4 kilometers further away from where we wanted to be (The Grey Cup Parties) They offered no apology and offered no compensation for... more
the hotel is in a great location for walking around jasper ave. and city center mall with all the glass towers surronding it. the $15.00 a day parking fee is a bit of a turn-off and i would have thought regesterd guests would not have to pay it. other than that.. a nice stay, and if going in for a one nighter would probabley stay there again.
I stay at this hotel quite often when I'm in Edmonton- but not choice, it's where my company books the reservation. It's a dated property, but it's not bad. The carpets look about 30 years old, and there is never enough lighting in the rooms once the sun has gone down. The heating & air conditioning system is old and NOISY. The air is also very dry. The rooms have an empty mini refrigerator -... more
“We were amazed that we got such a great room for so low a price. The hotel has a great view and has a great look to it, save the miniscule lobby.”
“I would not recommend this hotel, for the price and location, there are better ones available. There are plenty of beggars and homeless people around.”
Great location, but ended up on a smoking floor with a smelly room. Asked for a non smoking room...I misinterpreted your add..."Comfort room 1 queen bed smk free local phone calls / daily newspaper city view aaa or caa membership id required at check-in for this rate.."I thought this meant smk free, not smoking and free local phone calls.
“We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Good location. Nice lobby. Good parking.”
“Nice older property. Room no fancier than a decent modern 2-star, but certainly suited my simple needs.”
“Good facilities, good value, courteous staff, free Internet.”
“The hotel was great, I didn't want to get out of bed that's how comfy the beds were. We were also traveling with a swim team and the hotel staff was nice enough to dry our towels.”
“ Best view and loved free newspaper (globe and mail). ”
“Staff were friendly, room needed updating. pool was a little cool and needed a little cleaning. overall, not bad for the price,”
“Excellent staff; very nice, but old hotel(bathroom had chip in bathtub), have to pay for parking.”
“The lobby carpet was dirty or very outdated. The room was nice, but also outdated.”
Great rooms, excellent service and an amazing breakfast.
“Room was clean and functional. Lighting in room could have been better as it seemed a bit too dark. Furnishings seemed a bit dated, but was quite functional.”
Had a good experience here. Parking was an extra $12 per night. Free wireless Internet.
“I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was nice. I like the size of the room.”
“I will not book a downtown 2.5 hotel in edmonton again!”
The Coast Hotels are great, and this was no exception. Very clean, lovely pool and hot tub - a sauna too, excellent, high quality breakfast buffet available, and great customer service. We stayed at the Coast Hillcrest in Revelstoke on this trip too - also excellent. A great setting in the woods just a couple of minutes from the city.
I have stayed here before and for the price, its a great hotel for downtown location and comfy beds. The hallways need updating (looked like Miami Vice!) and are a bit smelly. Housekeeping staff was great, as was the pub staff. For the price, I'd stay here again.
“We liked it. Only stayed one night, but was a good experience overall.”
the price I got was a good deal. it is better than my expectation.

I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in downtown Edmonton. It is right in the heart of the city with all the shopping close by and the LRT is a block away which makes it great for getting to Rexall Place. Great rooms and amenities and super friendly staff. Great value all around!
“Hotel parking was reasonable and the corner suite we had was very spacious. It also included a in room fridge.Restaurant food was good, the buffets gave one lots of choices.”
“Located nicely down town easy to get to, friendly staff, eat in on the 24th floor didn't have reservations but they were very kind to find us a table very quickly, even though very busy. Great food, highly recommended, will definitely stay there again.”
Stay here constantly for business (not my choice - contracted). Rooms are average... Bathroom quite small and toiletries cheap (large bottles of shampoo/soap in shower for guests to reuse - yuck). Desk is too small, my chair was broken last time. The room temperature is hard to control, beds are average (not pillowtop like most these days) and lighting poor. Wireless signal is far too weak on... more
“We received a phantom wake up call three hours before we wanted to wake up. My son was also burnt by faulty plumbing in the shower. No consideration or concern by management. Customer service is dead in Edmonton. Not sure if this is a review of the hotel or of the city?”
“We had a lovely stay at this hotel for our first visit to Edmonton.
The service was friendly and accommodating.”
“Good location but could use a make over in the rooms.”
“I loved this hotel and the location is excellent for the traveler who would rather not drive every where. Easy connections to West Edmonton Mall, the Airport, in the heart of downtown and a short ways from the artsy section of Edmonton (Whyte Ave).”
“The lobby is nice and clean, however the age of the hotel is apparent once you see the rooms (i.e. worn and soiled hallway carpets and old wooden doors with a 1 inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I was also very annoyed when I received a bill for parking at the end of my stay for $9.00 a day that we were never told about. The high end restaurant also closes early if they... more
“Not worth the money. Large roomy room, free coffee machine (actually decent coffee); free internet was a bonus (brought my own cable). Great location to LRT and restaurants. Downtown is kind of dead though.”
“Have stayed here several times and never been disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms or by the staff. It could use some upgrades and renovations (some things have gotten a little well-used) but I can do without newer less worn items if its clean and their rooms always are. Have talked to the housekeepers and they all seem to take pride in their jobs and several had been there for many... more
“I liked the hotel very good service! And as well very friendly staff.”
“The hotel was beautiful and clean. It is close to the mall, good location. However the bed was really uncomfortable, so much so, we had sore backs the next day. We tossed and turned all night and could not get comfortable. Very tired in the morning. I was very disappointed and will not return again.”
“The good: 1) The bed is comfortable and the sleep aid program with the CD and the lavender linen spray were nice touches. 2) A printed list of the TV channels. Simple yet helpful! 3) The fitness room has brand new equipment. Probably best hotel gym in the city. 4) Free wired/wireless internet. The bad: 1) The decor of the hotel and the rooms are extremely outdated. The decor just screams out... more
“The hotel overall is comfortable, the bed was excellent and in the end, a good sleep is the most important part for me. I did get the impression that the maintenance plan was following the old adage "if isn't broken, don't fix it." There were parts of the hotel that had been repaired, but the repaired part did not match with the rest of the decor. A creative renovation plan could easily make... more
“The hotel staff was so very willing to assist with our requests and went out of their way to accommodate us. They had 3 huge weddings to look after and still, they were calm, friendly and fantastic! Would highly recommend Chateau Lacombe to friends!”
“This hotel is close to other hotels in the area but is too far away from the West Edmonton Mall (if you intend to go there). The hotel was very clean and the staff was great!”
“Found the hotel needs serious upgrades, my bathtub was peeled 2 layers, rug was clean but stained lovely location but lets keep up with the times and hotels around you.”
“Other than the window thing, the hotel was quite nice for a couple not for a family. They could not accommodate the family i.e., there was a room with a king size bed available. So I am not sure whether that is a hotel. The hotel itself was clean, well kept and the staff was very courteous. The location was convenient for our activities and we enjoyed our stay.”
“Overall satisfactions with friendly staffs and clean environment. Convenient location and easy access to town and shopping mall. The gift shop located at the hotel was closed whole day.”
“Over all we thought the hotel service was gracious and the location was great for our needs.”
“Great location downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Wireless high speed Internet was great. The only thing wrong with this hotel was the filthy carpet in the elevator from the parking garage. The need to make it tile or replace the carpet more often.”
“I would highly recommend this hotel for the weary, burnt out leisure guest trying to get away from the madness of the world. We were treated superbly and the beautiful feather down duvets were so inviting. We also enjoyed the sleep CD and sleep enhancing package. Reservations accommodated our requests and we had a beautiful room with a valley view. Awesome!”
“Great place to stay for a relaxing, quiet get-away.”
“There was a blonde girl with glasses who worked there showed a long face all the time. Tourists pay to stay at the hotel and deserve better service. Smiles should be free!”
“An all around good hotel, not great but good. The pull out sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable if someone needs to sleep on it.”
“This hotel in Edmonton was very clean and well maintained. I would encourage any business traveler to stay here, there is no pool or hot tub though and so families might not have anything to do.”
“Although the location is excellent, I was surprised that this caliber hotel had such small rooms. The hotel's website was a little deceiving.”
“The hotel was generally pleasant. The staff was attentive and friendly. However, attention to detail and cleanliness was lacking. The carpet in the lobby was worn and needed to be replaced. Lobby furniture was unkempt. The curtains in our room were in disrepair.”
“Not impressed with the parking. As you enter the parking area, the roof is caving in. I'm sure it is safe but not a good feeling. The room we were in is small and so so for cleanliness. It would not be a hotel that I would choose to stay in.”
“Because of the downtown location and parking space being at a premium, there was an additional charge for parking. This made the total price less of a bargain.”
I'm a regular guest at this hotel (on business) and it has never been a disappointment. Truly whatever you require all under one roof...even a complimentary packet of hot chocolate in the room if you're neither a coffee nor tea drinker. The basket of fresh apples at reception is a lovely touch. It's hard to resist taking one. The bathrooms are clean, the rooms quiet, and the hotel scores... more
