The Quality Inn West Harvest is not a cheap hotel it's affordable!
The Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Edmonton while offering the scenic serenity of the citys picturesque River Valley
I have been to a few events at the chateau lacombe - weddings and a couple of Edmonton Opera's brunches -- and the food and service is always great! It's not the newest hotel, but it's definitely a classy one.
Originally just went to the revolving restaurant when I was staying at the hotel. Got my car valeted (great service) and the meal was incredible although on the pricier side which is what i expected. I came back to stay there the next time and visited the restaurant again. Nice place!
our room was fine but we had 2 coupons for a free breakfast..so when we went down to have breakfast the worker in the restaurant asked if we could possibly go back up to our room to eat, which we could not as we had checked out already. So our free breakfast then turned into a $22.00 bill because they had the mothers day brunch going on.. the food was horrible. Plus because they were busy with... more
I stayed at the hotel on a weekend and was not impressed with the old room. The curtians were faded and discoloured, and the large cluster flies in the window were not nice. Perhaps staying on the traffic side of the hotel made the room less desireable also. When they leave ear plugs in the room with the other 'goodies' it is a sure sign the room won't be very quiet. Also entry and exit of the... more
Had my wedding reception there in Aug 2011 after cancelling at the AWFUL Sutton Place hotel due to the rude catering manager there. Susan Freitas-Neil, the catering manager at Crowne however, was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with and ensured all our needs were met, and smoothed over issues during the actual event. Cannot say enough good things about her and would recommend her and... more
Unfriendly, pretentious front-desk staff. Asked for a break down of bill, they were arrogant about it. Held more than $75 on credit card (held up to $250). Poor menu choices, and overpriced bar-food in suite for a more upscale hotel. Discrepencies between site and front-desk staff. Staff claimed parking was free, when it clearly wasn't. The waiting area between the parking lot and the hotel was... more
This coast hotel is a dump! For one thing, they play opera/classical music to outside speakers directed to a neighbourhood park which totally interferes with the enjoyment of staying here in this downtown hotel. The music is so loud: I asked them why they play the music and they said it was to deter 'undesirables' from staying in the park...in other words, there are lots of First Nations people... more
Hotel staff was very friendly and efficient. Room was as expected. Only major drawback was that the wireless netowrk coverage in my room (1704) was very weak and mostly unusable. Wireless in lobby and business center was much better. Also if taking the Air Shuttle to airport you will have a slow tour of 5-6 hotels before you get to the airport. Allow over an hour if taking the shuttle. Taxi... more
A good value for the buck. If you need a downtown hotel, this will do it.
I was pleasantly surprised at the amenities and comfort of the room for the price. I was on the club floor and had a big desk and leather chair to work at.
The Coast Edmonton plaza is downtown and competitively (if not cheaply) priced as such. The single best thing about the hotel is that they provide a shuttle service to and from local (downtown only) locales... this is pretty important when its is 20 to 40 below zero. You will have to pay for the shuttle service to and from the airport and will have to use a bus or taxi to get to the giant... more
The staff was totally unfriendly, the room had no refrigerator (although there was a place for one), and the bed was awful. We moved to a Best Western after three days and it was fabulous - indoor pool with a slide, a workout room, a free business center, and in the room - a microwave and refrigerator! For an expensive downtown hotel, the bed should have been better at the Chateau LaCombe.
The hotel is nice; however, rooms feel like they need a major renovation. As most Edmonton hotels, a little expensive.
this hotel will be the first I'll check up on. Excellent in every way for my price range and comfort standards. Staff very helpful, polite and considerate. Shuttle to airport.
Overall experience satisfactory
There was a long line when we ckecked in , there must have been 12 people in line plus a bride and a groom that just had their receptionint the Ball Room. Two persons at the the desk on a saturday is not GOOD... more
This is a nice hotel that I basically stumbled on and was pleased. My room was business comfy and very clean. King Size Bed was heavenly and linens were wonderful. I enjoyed the pool spa exercise area, and I also loved the bar. I did not try the restaurant. The services I used were great and a boon was being two blocks from the Light Rail which took me to the University area quickly and also... more
Good value for the price, friendly staff, ordinary restaurant
Everything was what we expected, The rooms were great. Staff were fantastic. Would certainly stay there again.
Bought a night here on a silent auction so we stayed for our Christmas Party and for fun! Our room was by the elevator and was rated Superior. I never heard the elevator. I never heard the doors slam like in hotels or noise. I never heard neighbors. I have never seen such friendly staff by housekeeping and the restaurant. It must display how they are managed! They appeared to love their jobs!... more
I've lived in 3 countries on 3 different continents and traveled the world and I've never experienced such bad customer service as I did at the coast. A group of us booked 8 rooms 11 months in advance. At the last minute, without informing us they moved all of us 4 kilometers further away from where we wanted to be (The Grey Cup Parties) They offered no apology and offered no compensation for... more
the hotel is in a great location for walking around jasper ave. and city center mall with all the glass towers surronding it. the $15.00 a day parking fee is a bit of a turn-off and i would have thought regesterd guests would not have to pay it. other than that.. a nice stay, and if going in for a one nighter would probabley stay there again.
I stay at this hotel quite often when I'm in Edmonton- but not choice, it's where my company books the reservation. It's a dated property, but it's not bad. The carpets look about 30 years old, and there is never enough lighting in the rooms once the sun has gone down. The heating & air conditioning system is old and NOISY. The air is also very dry. The rooms have an empty mini refrigerator -... more
There is a daily charge for parking, and the elevators and parkade were under repair.
Great location, but ended up on a smoking floor with a smelly room. Asked for a non smoking room...I misinterpreted your add..."Comfort room 1 queen bed smk free local phone calls / daily newspaper city view aaa or caa membership id required at check-in for this rate.."I thought this meant smk free, not smoking and free local phone calls.
Older hotel, in the midst of some renovations, but well kept and impeccable service.
Great rooms, excellent service and an amazing breakfast.
Great place for the money!
the hotel was very good and staff were helpful, friendly.
bed was comfotable and duvet were lovely.
our experience for the fist time was lovely.
Emplyees are very helpful and friendly, the business centre, has four computers and two printers, the bed is very comfortable, the best one on my trips.
Had a good experience here. Parking was an extra $12 per night. Free wireless Internet.
I enjoy staying at 4* or better, hotels. This was a 3* and I stayed here, because it was the only hotel that could guaranty me two beds in a room. There is nothing wrong with the hotel, but nothing great either. We did complain about a truck parked in handicapped parking, as I had to walk to another level and being disabled, was inconvenienced. Truck was ticketed but remained, so the following... more
Great location for where we neede to be
For the price, it was a good value. It is in a convenient downtown location, close to the mass transit station and restaurants, and had a nice workout facility. Our room had a great view of the downtown skyline, and it was a short walk to the parks along the river. The only downside was the condition of the hotel. The carpet in our room was a little worn and dirty, and the bathtub had a big... more
I loved this place. The only problem I had with it was that as a non-local it was really hard to find the hotel in downtown Edmonton. If you had a GPS I'm sure it would have been different.
The Coast Hotels are great, and this was no exception. Very clean, lovely pool and hot tub - a sauna too, excellent, high quality breakfast buffet available, and great customer service. We stayed at the Coast Hillcrest in Revelstoke on this trip too - also excellent. A great setting in the woods just a couple of minutes from the city.
I have stayed here before and for the price, its a great hotel for downtown location and comfy beds. The hallways need updating (looked like Miami Vice!) and are a bit smelly. Housekeeping staff was great, as was the pub staff. For the price, I'd stay here again.
Good hotel, excellent location and breakfast is good too.
great help at the front desk for pointing in the right directions to get to other hotels for meetings
the price I got was a good deal. it is better than my expectation.

I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in downtown Edmonton. It is right in the heart of the city with all the shopping close by and the LRT is a block away which makes it great for getting to Rexall Place. Great rooms and amenities and super friendly staff. Great value all around!
Stay here constantly for business (not my choice - contracted). Rooms are average... Bathroom quite small and toiletries cheap (large bottles of shampoo/soap in shower for guests to reuse - yuck). Desk is too small, my chair was broken last time. The room temperature is hard to control, beds are average (not pillowtop like most these days) and lighting poor. Wireless signal is far too weak on... more
We were fortunate to get a room facing south-east at the Crown Plaza-Chateau Lacombe in Edmonton, Alberta. The view of the river valley in the fall is spectacular, and the night lights are fascinating as well. This is a great place to stay since it is a nice walking distance from the city centre, and from both the Winspear and Citadel Theatres. Our room was very clean, which is a real plus.... more
What a great place. Good looking waiters and waitress's and good service. The air in the room was definiteley breathable. And the view was of edmonton.
I'm a regular guest at this hotel (on business) and it has never been a disappointment. Truly whatever you require all under one roof...even a complimentary packet of hot chocolate in the room if you're neither a coffee nor tea drinker. The basket of fresh apples at reception is a lovely touch. It's hard to resist taking one. The bathrooms are clean, the rooms quiet, and the hotel scores... more
