Very nice!

Very nice hotel! The staff were helpful and I truly enjoyed my visit to the spa. The only downside of my visit was that when I went to get a take out meal from the Bistro, they actually gave me a plate with cutlery to carry to my room, which was somewhat uncomfortable. Take out containers would have been much better. Also, more information on room service options would have also been helpful.

Adequate accommodations but expected more

For the price of the hotel I expected more. Thought the price was high and we were overcharged on our credit card. Not a great experience . Will choose another hotel next time.

Beautiful hotel in downtown area

We chose this hotel to experience downtown Halifax. We were quite close to the waterfront and within walking distance of some great restaurants and shops. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the valet service for our car rental was worth every penny. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This was a great place for self-guided walking tours of downtown Halifax. We enjoyed proximity to the harbor, historic sites, and great food. The hotel was wonderful and the staff were great.

The hotel is beautiful,clean, and comfortable, but it is a hassle with all the downtown traffic and valet parking and no complimentary breakfast with the premium price you pay for an expensive hotel.

Murky pool, stinky towels

The room was like going back to the 90's. There was black mold along edge of tub. There was no ppv movies. White plastic patio furniture that was very wobbly. Pool was very dirty and murky, jets in hot tub didn't work.

Great location near harbour

Could walk to restaurants, tourist spots and even Dalhousie. Nice room and lobby. Really enjoyed the roof too deck during the day and the evening too! Only 2 complaints - 1) linens - very skimpy - can't imagine what it would be like in winter. 2) shampoo etc in tiny awful bottles - couldn't even get it out of the bottle.

great staff...friendly atmosphere and a great view of the harbour. We would return.

Close to harbor.

On a 2 night stay, no one came to clean our room all day. We came back to find it still unmade and not refreshed. We spoke to a housekeeper in the hall and she contacted the front desk. They sent someone up after we went out for dinner. Really shouldn't have had to call anyone.

This hotel was excellent in every way. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The facilities were A1. We were made to feel very welcome. We would stay there again without question.

Noisy and icky

Our room was near the elevator and we heard people all night long as well as early in the morning. We had a "terrace" that was actually below a ramp to a parking garage....it was blocked, dirty and weird. A GREAT long weekend stay at the end of July

Staff was always friendly, polite, accommodating and happy. We got great recommendations on restuarants, shops and even where to get the best views for the parade!It was our first time in Nova Scotia and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. It seems that this hotel is a favorite for parents with young kids and hockey teams. So it was a little noisy at times and you really couldn't use the pool / hot-tub. Location and staff were amazing at the hotel. Newly renovated area is also very nice.
Only item that I dislike is the tiny gym with only two threadmills. It was always busy and never got a chance. I think a hotel of this size should have a real size training room!

Enjoyed our stay

Great hotel, located conveniently downtown. Our kids enjoyed the restaurant ( my 7 year old picky eater, loved the chicken wings) The chef personally served the food to our kids!
The room was spacious and clean, with a great shower.
Valet parking was quick and courteous.

It's All Good

Great Hotel close to the shops and dining on the waterfront. Staff were excellent and very friendly especially Charlynn! I was there on business so it was nice to be able to walk on the boardwalk during lunch break and in the evening. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed 3 nights. Everything about the hotel was fine, until my wife found the some jewely was missing from a drawer where she had hid it in some clothing. We reported it at leaving but they called and said the room search had found nothing. BAD feelings about this hotel to return.

Beautiful view of the harbour

Even on the rainy, windy days a cup of coffee and the view of Lower Water Street and the harbour was a treat. We could always get a good breakfast at the Bistro to start our day. And Starbucks makes a great latte. I would definitely come back to this hotel. Thank you to the front desk staff who started our days off with a pleasant smile and a ready response to any questions we may ask.

I spent only two nights at the Courtyard Marriott but left with no complaints. Comfortable room, pleasant efficient service at the desk, from the housekeeper and the valet.Close to bars and restaurants on the waterfront. I'd stay again with no second thoughts.

Close to waterfront and downtown

We were pleasantly surprised at the recent upgrades to the Courtyard Marriott. The lobby looks great. Our only complaint was lack of luggage racks in the rooms. We could only get one and needed 3. Also, there seemed to be a shortage of staff to help with luggage etc.

The hotel was just renovated, nice surprise. Staff were excellent, beautiful roof top patio overlooking the bay. Close to everything you need.

Home away from home

Very friendly and obliging staff. Free WiFi. Pool is small but it's fine unless a bunch of people jump in at once. Room was beautiful with a nice balcony in room 311. Everything was clean. Great location. Expensive valet parking but we got a package to include it which is why we tried this hotel. Glad we did!

Nice hotel...serious noise issue through ventilation

Rooms, staff and location all great, but the initial and replacement rooms suffered from the same fatal flaw...the ventilation system carries conversations from room to room and I would not recommend staying here until this issue is addressed.

I booked a meeting room and found it to be exactly what I wanted.Light, airy and plenty of room for my delegates.The food for our breaks was perfect and the service was second to none. “The decor inside the room was modern but the color palette and choice of fabrics were better suited to a casino. The front of house staff was not welcoming or particularly helpful. No one helped us with our bags and the front of house staff did not explain any of the hotel amenities (that is, room service,breakfast options, etc).”

“I have stayed in many hotels over my adult lifetime. Never have I had to pay for parking. Even in a one star hotel (wich I have also sated in) I was also charged $6.00 CDN for my continental breakfastwich consisted of a strawberry and 3 peices of pineapple.”

great location, inoperative printer

This hotel was great, including its location. My only gripe was that I asked at the desk if the business center printer was hooked up, had paper and was operating. I was told yes but no one checked. Then when I tried to print out sensitive information it didn't work, staff couldn't get it to work and I worried that it was in memory and would print out later after I had left the hotel.

“Overall I really enjoyed my stay. The pool was fairly small but the hot tub was great. I would recommend this hotel for it's proximity to great shopping and eating.”

“An excellent new hotel right in the centre of downtown Halifax. Staff was friendly, polite and efficient. The valet parking guy even asked if I needed directions to anywhere as he turned over the car to me. I had a hard time believing that I'd only paid $60 for such high quality accommodation.”
