I had the toasted western no ham, my friend had a BLT both were tasty. Hard to go wrong. The service was fast and friendly. Place is clean.
Food is fresh and delicious. Nice mix of gourmet and home style. People are friendly. Service is fast. Would definitely come back.
Great selection. Very good service. Top quality food. Clean as a whistle
Overall you can't go wrong. Get there early. Lots of seating
We stopped in Parry Sound for the 3 hour boat cruise which wasn't too bad, a little boring. Stayed over at the Knights Inn which was a big mistake... very poor accommodations. We looked for a spot to have breakfast the next morning & lucked upon the Country Gourmet Cafe just across the street. Food was delicious, plentiful & all... more
Friendly small town atmosphere. The Sunday Brunch was a tremendous value. Great selection of quiches and breakfast fare. Wonderful assortment of baked goods. Felt like we were in grandma's kitchen!
Neat, clean, excellent menu of homemade meals and treats. Ambiance is thoughtfully done. Photo gallery of Georgian Bay adds a nice touch. Coffee is great and meals are generous. Atmosphere is quiet which I prefer. In good weather you can eat outside if you wish. Staff is friendly and thoughtful.
I have visited here for lunch quite often and love it! The food is home made and delicious. You order from the large menu and they bring it to your table. The portion sizes are perfect. The choices vary from lasagna to wraps to soups and sandwiches--and the salads are super. It is difficult to finally decide on what to... more
Whenever I'm in Parry Sound (business or pleasure) I stop in here.
There are so many choices on the menu. We like the wraps and the soups but also enjoy the mac and cheese, sheppard's pie, lasagna, salads, and other fabulous fare. The meals are fabulous and filling. Then there are the desserts--too many to mention and difficult to choose...

Knights Inn, across the road, does not do breakfasts, so this was a friendly and helpful alternative. It looked as though it might be good for brunch, but we had other plans.
Great spot for lunch or breakfast
I go here often - I recently ordered the parsnip pear and brie soup - yummy!
The carribean trifle with pineapple and mango - a favourite.
A quiet place to sit with artwork on display and nice friendly staff.
Do not expect too much. Just nice and clean place with bright furnishing and simple lunch meals. Mainly sandwiches, burgers, wraps and salads. Nothing special, but I was feeling well there.
This place serves lovely quiches, a whole range of salads and lovely pastries. The price are good and the place is a quiet alternative to some of the places on Seguin. It's well worth the stroll up James St to find it. There's also outdoor seating. And everyone is friendly
Right downtown, this is the nicest place to grab a bite at a decent price. Chris has done catering for me many times and the comments are always positive. It is usually fast and delicious.
My co-worker and I just had one of the the best sandwich's ever! A Toasted Multi grain Panini with Ham, Havarti, Slice of Pear, and Apple Walnut Jelly!! OMG......I could honestly not believe how mouth watering delicious this combination was........it felt like more than just a sandwich. :)
The coconut Lemon Square was also awesome.
I loved the food, everything was fresh and homemade, loved the service, loved the atmosphere, great menu choices, this is the place to eat, I just wish they did dinner!
Last week the movie production that I am working with filmed some scenes in this establishment. Country Gourmet provided the cast and crew lunch prior to the shoot in the afternoon. Wonderful meat and vegetarian entrees and fabulous salads. Lovely meal. The best catered lunch yet.
i truly love the homemade food there. Its an amazing little find in Parry Sound. The salads and sandwiches are great. The desserts are made that day and are simply amazing, This place is a hidden jewel and I'll be there every day this week for lunch.
During the recent movie production I worked across the street from The Country Gourmet. We got takeout a lot and I was very happy to see that they had a quinoa salad.
Great owner. They also do catering. Artwork on walls makes it interesting to drop in. I prefer sitting at back as it is more private.
Fresh made salads and sandwiches and delicious home baked desserts is their claim to fame. It is still good, but prices have gone up while portions and quality seems to have slipped somewhat...still better food than you will find at your local hamburger fast food joint. Very little seating...and the seats/tables that are there are pretty close to each other.
I live in the area, and there is a serious shortage of quality restaurants here. This is breakfast and luncheon dining only. Baked goods are good and supposedly baked fresh. The soups are often loaded with curry, and over seasoned. i can make a better sandwich at home. Two pieces of bread and a piece of processed meat? that's it... more
I ordered bacon and eggs. The bacon and eggs were microwaved. So disappointed for the price and I thought the name was misleading. Gourmet means good food, not fake food. Went there to use the wireless internet, which I couldn't even connect to. Waste of money.
Wonder full quiche and fresh made cuisine!
Try the fresh soups and your tummy will be warm and happy.
Three of us had a light lunch at the Country Gourmet before we took a tour of the 30,000 Islands.
The restaurant is clean and the staff were friendly. The food was okay but on the bland side. I would go back if I wanted a quick, light lunch that didn't cost too much.
Country Gourmet The offers these services: delicatessen, restaurant.
