When it comes to tea my wife's favourite is the classic dust that is swept from the floor and stuck into tea bags for UK supermarkets so the minefield of being offered so many types of tea was daunting. Having settled on our brew (Canadian breakfast, delicious) we also enjoyed a wrap and a buttie, both of which were beautifully presented,... more
My family popped into communitea for lunch and were treated to an extremely satisfying and healthy meal. There are many options for vegetarian and gluten free patrons. My little ones ordered the quesadilla and it was served with a whole grain tortilla and chicken. I had the smoked salmon and pesto panini (great choice). To top it off, it was... more
We travelled two mornings to eat breakfast in this little cafe. The food was fresh, wholesome and tasty. The coffee was excellent and a great selection of teas. Tempting sweet pastries were delicious!
We were here to see a small concert. The cafe is super cute, not too big and not too small. We only had beverages, but the tea was yummy. And everyone was friendly. The setup for the show was cozy, but everyone had a good seat. I'll definitely go back for lunch one day.
I'm with my family for a quick lunch as my wife needs to go back to
the office. We decided to try the café 'coz of good things we heard
from other people and there is no line at the counter. It took our
food orders 30 minutes before it was serve making our lunch adventure
very frustrating. What makes...

I had lunch with two friends at Communitea Cafe on our way to Banff. They serve my favourite coffee, Intelligentsia. I had the Big Cheese panini which was delicious, plus the daily soup which was miso. The soup had a lot of veggies and was pretty filling. Salads looked quite large, and my friend enjoyed the Salmon Pesto Wrap.
We...

Great food, reasonably priced. Just a lovely cafe and as the name says, specializing in teas as well as community minded. Local art for sale on the walls etc.
Unfortunately, I only got to enjoy one meal here however it was memorable. The laid-back spirit of the community is captured in the cafe's decor, menu, and overall ambiance. I love salads and bowls of one sort or another, and the menu's variety of options satisfied both my vegetarian and my husband's non-veggie preferences. We enjoyed a lunch that was... more
From an Australian perspective coffee in Canada is generally pretty weak and tasteless.but this place does better than the Canadian average, so well worth a visit
Great quirky location! Looks like an Ikea add with all the furniture! Food was quick, fast and tasty! I had the pad thai and enjoyed it! Cannot complain. Easy cheap tasty option!
This place is a must if you are visiting the Canmore area. They have vegetarian and gluten free options to suit almost any dietary need. My favourite is the Pad Thai with chicken. They always have feature dishes, homemade soups, teas and iced teas to sample as well. It does get very busy during peak meal times, so keep that... more
I have been here many times and usually visit for breakfast or lunch whenever I am in Canmore. The food selection and coffee is delicious. They also offer a number of gluten free options making them one of my top choices in Canmore because I am a celiac and eating out can sometimes be difficult when it comes to finding... more
I've had lunch a few times here and have always enjoyed the healthy selection and quality of food!!!!
The only downfall is the time it takes at lunch sometimes to recieve your order. I've waited almost half an hour one time... But worth the wait if you have the time to kill.
Very good food menu!!
Went to Communitea yesterday, had the chicken quesadilla and tea. Everything came out quickly, the staff were friendly as can be, and the food was delicious. As regular summer visitors, we will certainly be returning often. Great job Communitea staff
We love it here. The atmosphere is fabulous and the food and drinks are healthy and delicious. It is very child friendly.
I was incredibly impressed with Communitea! The concept is so cool and the cafe really embodies a sense of community. Besides the incredible breakfast and smooth coffee, the walls are littered with fantastic local artwork, there are live performances, and posters for local retreats and workshops (I love my yoga!). All around great vibe and fantastic, fresh food. Love.
This is a great place to hang out. The food is delicious and healthy; the atmosphere is very welcoming; kids are totally welcome. Plus they also bring some great music to town -- although, sadly, the acoustics are not great.
I recently stayed in Canmore for a girls' weekend and one of our group insisted we eat at Communitea. I was excited as it reminded me of my university hippie days in Victoria. We lined up across the length of the entire restaurant but we seemed to move quickly enough (although if you are in a hurry, you won't agree).... more
I recently went for lunch in this great little cafe. I was greeted by some very happy front of house staff. Who had some great recommendation for a couple of hikes in the area. We had ordered 2 teas with the Pad Thai and the Mountain Veggie Wrap. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I really felt the kitchen... more
Today I stopped into this cafe for lunch and was blown away by not only the amazing food, but the friendliness of each of the staff. They went out of the way to create an amazing meal for me and then went above and beyond with conversation about the local area. Cool venue, amazingly nice staff and really impressed with... more
Our friends recommended communitea and unfortunately it wasn't a very positive experience. I think the big issue is that the staff just seemed indifferent and could have cared less. We decided to do take out and then waited over 45 minutes for a veggie burger and quesadilla. The restaurant was busy, however, the staff could have advised that there would... more
Really enjoyed the sample "uncorked" menu for lunch. very good value. Nice and fresh, great salad and soup.
This is an amazing addition to the Canmore community since its opening. Not only is it a great place to grab super healthy grub and tea (the variety is endless), it's bright modern decor and multiple windows make it a great place to hang out. They have a lounge area with couches, toys and it's where the kiddies hang out.... more
We stumbled upon this cafe by accident but were very pleased we had. I was thrilled to find a cafe that makes a "proper" macchiato and it was good and strong. Can't comment on the food but it looked good.
I loved that there were flyers and ads for all sorts of community events around Canmore, without it looking like...

Lots of healthy options here and for the vegetarians and non veggies. Lots of tea and baking and in general there are many options here. I had a lunch bowl with chicken added. It was plentiful, full of good for me things like quinoa, kale, and bean sprouts and had a tasty sauce (more of a broth). The decor is... more
If you're looking for some tea with a healthy lunch or snack well look no further! This is the only place I go!! Love their breakfasts, lunches, tea and gluten free treats! All healthy and delicious! Always stop in to grab a couple almond bars and tea when I'm passing through, yes I'm pretty sure it's official - I'm addicted!
Canmore has some excellent vegetarian food options but this has to be the best of them all. We've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Creative, fresh and delicious food with daily specials and baked goods. Go there, your tastebuds will be happy!
I love the couches and games provided on one half of the cafe and then the chairs and tables on the other place. I come here when I have some downtime by myself as well as when I come with my kids. Such a great place. The Buddha Bowl was excellent!!!!!
My favourite place to eat in Canmore, hands down. Lots of great vegetarian options, excellent service and cosy atmosphere. Can get packed around lunchtime but take-out is also available. The buddha bowl salad is scrumptious!! Went there 4 times on my last trip to Canmore.
We have been travelling and staying in the Canmore are for years. It is our favourite location for spring skiing at Lake Louise and Sunshine. We have always made a point of stopping in at this establishment. The restaurant also supports both the local arts scene as well as a selection of great musicians and bands on most weekends and... more
My husband and I stopped in here for a light breakfast and to pick up some tea - we shared the huevos rancheros quesadilla and it was very tasty.
On a Sunday morning so close to Christmas, I expected it to be busier, but it was nice and quiet. Food was delicious, there are plenty of tables, chairs and even...

Popular cafe with delicious salads and mains, quesadillas being a favourite, with good appetising selection for children. Very good crumble. Because of its popularity there were queues and as everything is prepared to order it did take time however there is good children's play area and they do serve the best coffee. We weren't rushed once our meal arrived and... more
I came here on a Tripadvisor ranking & friend recommendation. It is a nice cafe with a wholistic and comfortable atmosphere. I had the curry rice bowl which was great. I was full before getting to the bottom of the bowl. With the curry bowl, a tea, and a 15% tip, it was $20. A bit steep for lunch, I'd... more
Upon the recommendation from a friend in Calgary, we had lunch at the Communitea Cafe along with our 2 year old son. Dining out with a toddler can be challenging, but this made it an enjoyable experience. There is a small kids play area with a play kitchen, mega blocks, some board games, kids tables & chairs and plenty of... more
We were looking for a place that made good 'big salads' and fresh food, a local told us about this place. Try the Buddha bowl if you like tahini dressing! It was fabulous. We also got several of their baked goods which were good too. The only downside is that they are closed for dinner.
This place is exactly what I had been searching for! Good clean healthy wholesome tasty food. I wish I could eat here everyday!
Finally a great coffee for travel weary Australians. Food is fresh and healthy especially for toddlers. Toys and play kitchen also so you can have some down time. Arrived at 3:50, served and not rushed out. We will be back.
Nice healthy choices for lunch and a snack. Good to find a place that has real food for a change.if you are looking for gluten free, or other alternative food types this is the place to try.
We walked by this restaurant while visiting Canmore and saw that they use Intelligentsia beans for their coffee so we checked it out the next morning. Very glad we did! We wound up going here every morning for the rest of our stay.
The staff is very friendly although this is not the place to visit if you are in...

Food wraps were filled full of veggies. Lots of different teas to choose from. Coffee was nice although we chose a busy day I would recommend a visit.
After waiting FORTY minutes for three sandwiches/wraps I had decided we would never cross the threshold of communitea's door again. Ever. With two squirmy little people impatiently waiting with us it made the wait even more mind numbingly painful. Honestly, there is no reason on earth that it should take a kitchen that long to get these things out to... more
This review is as much about community spirit as the tasty food and drink, welcoming atmosphere, and beautiful flowers and people watching windows and deck. This is a place you REALLY want to go if you believe in supporting a business that does so much for local community spirit. Including (but not limited to)....culture (concerts), commuting (rewards for bike commuters... more
Three of us had lunch at this interesting spot based on a recommendation of a friend. We ordered a Buddha Bowl and two Pad Thai. Both were very large and very satisfying. The two vegetarians in our trio found the food outstanding. We will be back.
Located off the main street. Very clean and spacious with friendly staff. I ordered a ham and Gruyere cheese panini that was delicious. My wife ordered a veggie wrap that was equally well made and delicious. We had a Hawaiian fruit tea that was was very smooth. We ended with a date crumbcake that was really well put together. We've eaten here twice now and enjoyed it both times. Casual atmosphere, tasty dishes, and friendly staff. It's obviously a busy place for a reason!
Such a delightful and homey place to have lunch or a tea! By far my favorite concert venue! Licorice Peppermint tea is the best!
The food is very good. They have a unique variety of options that will satisfy most palettes. The have vegan, gluten free, and unique dishes that are tasty, fresh, and healthy. Their coffee is only okay. I had an American and it was Luke warm and weak.
We stopped in for breakfast as we were spending the day shopping in town. Such a huge selection to tea - it was amazing!! I had the Vanilla Coconut White team and my Mom had the Licorice Peppermint. We each had breakfast sandwiches - they offer rice wraps as a gluten free option. So good - I recommend the salmon... more
The Maple Latte was flavorful but not sweet. Nice blend of flavours.
My friends ate while there and their salads were fresh and tasty.
I highly recommend this place.
Awesome tea selection and some really healthy food, dynamic atmosphere and lots of vegan and vegetarian options. There are bands that play there often in the evening, and during the day it's also kids friendly, with a little play area (away from the main area near the bathrooms). Staff seem really nice, patrons are a mix of granola-crunching hippies and... more
