Hotel was conveniently located close to the Queensway and also Hwy 416. The desk clerk was very accommodating giving us a ground floor room in the area of the hotel that we requested.

Hotel is close to CTC and many restaurants. Very close to hwy , easy to get too. If you are going to CTC for any events leave at least 1 Hr before event time or YOU WILL BE LATE. Convenient location

The motel was conveniently located near my family for thanksgiving. The room seemed very clean however there was a lingering odor of curry in the air. The continental breakfast was very disappointing. The eggs were cold and tasteless and the pastry had an unpleasant taste.

Recently Renovated

Room was well renovated and generally well cleaned. It did smell like smoke even though the curtains and bedspread did not. I suspect the smell came from ventilation or from some other way from the rooms where smoking is allowed on the floor below me. Very disappointing. Great value for business in Kanata. Free breakfast is good for basics - coffee, cereals, eggs. Bed a little too soft for me.

Close to the highway

When I went to check in the clerk wanted to know how we were going to sleep 4people in a queen room. I told her I had booked for 4 people and reserved 2double beds. She told me she would change it this time because she was not full. She told me this is what happens when you book online. This hotel is in need of an update.

Close to SensPlex. Serviceable enough hotel.

Had to wait over an hour for room despite check-in time of 3:00 p.m. Breakfast on Sat. morning (Aug. 30/14) had no hot items: no bacon, sausage, eggs. Ended up grabbing a bagel and leaving. Disappointed

Paid a premium for a ground floor Queen room knowing that they have a walk-out, was surprised when I checked in that I had a small room without the walk-out. When I asked the desk clerk about this, I was rudely told that my reservation was for a " Small, corner queen room" and that they could not make a change.

Covienient location. Good value for $

Just an overnight stay. Shopping and right off the 417! Plumbing was a wee bit of an issue. Sink didn't drain and the toilet almost overflowed!!!! Ewwww. Good value. Comfy bed. Free breakfast was wonderfull. Would stay again.

The place is quite and staff is nice. I have a family of four stay there over night. I like it since it provide free parking and free breakfast. I got this hotel under $100 ( tax) from expedia unlisted hotel deal. Great deal for me.

Central Kanata area

Too expensive for what they offer. Friendly staff, very musty smell in room. Leaky shower head, a bottle of water displayed which said if you drink it they bill you...not very welcoming.... more

Almost everything was good. Having coin laundry was one of its positive points and complete breakfast was satisfying. The only problem was lacking elevator for the second floor.

Complementary breakfast sucks!

The free breakfast included at this place was less than par. They had a limited amount of food available and long line ups waiting for your turn to get a portion of it. It was easier to grab a coffee and news paper and go up the street to a restaurant. And the coffee urns were never filled after breakfast hours.

What a pleasant experience. Front desk very friendly and helpful!! Clean room. Very quiet. Breakfast should have a few more options, and there should be more than one washer and dryer. We picked this location because of the laundry facilities and had to wait a few hours to do laundry.

Very Disappointing Stay

I booked and paid for 2 double beds and ended up getting a Double bed and a sofa bed. When I complained that same hour and day, I was told there was none available or left. Just ok

Asked for a non-smoking room, smelled smoky, apparently those are the rooms they give you if you are traveling with a small pet, last time I look my dog does not smoke. Lack of towels, glad I brought my own from home. Was charged 50$ extra for cleaning the room because of the dog, well you have to clean the room no matter what, some people smell worst then a dog and there not charged extra.

The room was small and the staff was okay. No pool and breakfast was finished served at 9. Check out is 11 but couldn't check in at 3. I would not stay there again.

Quiet hotel close to the Canadian Tire Centre

The room was reasonably priced and was clean. The staff was friendly. There aren't a lot of choices in the breakfast that was included and it ended early, so make sure to get to it early. All in all I would stay there again if I was going to Kanata.

No restaurant, the pool is a pass to a near by wave pool? There was no sitting area outside anywhere. It's in a residential area, nothing close by.

lousey sleep

The Pillows were awful!!! Lots of road noise The huge cabinet at the head of the bed on one side made it very hard to get in on that side of the bed. Also made you feel like you were sleeping in a box

It was a friendly hotel. Nice rooms.Good breakfast. Great staff .I was in an outside wing which is fine in the summer. Winter could be different, having to go outside to get to lobby. My TomTom GPS put the hotel about 1 km short of its actual location.

Booked one night en route to an appointment outside Ottawa. Front desk was very kind in providing us with a ground floor unit since I was with an elderly travelling partner. First roomassigned was a smoking room, it stank. The second sroom did not stink of cigarette smoke but renovations were poorly done, tub/shower ran all the time, could not leave window open for fresh air cause no screens to keep bugs out.

Good location

Was just there to sleep following a concert. One small issue, there was a refrigeration box truck that was left running all night long parked across from my room so I did not sleep very well. My friend who was with me had the bed away from the glass doors so she did not notice it until the morning when she could not get back to sleep. A good place to stay when away from home

The room at the Comfort In that I stayed in was freshly renovated and very nicely done. The room was quiet, but the bed was a bit hard for my sleeping habits. There was a great selection at the breakfast that was included in the price of the room. The price for the room was great, so all in all, this was a good place to stay. I enjoyed my visit.

Other than a slight odour of Sulfur when I first walked into the room everything was fine. We didn't check out the breakfast because there was a long line up. It appears our room was recently updated and the beds were comfortable.

Close to Canadian tire Centre

It was nice to be close to the Canadian Tire Centre. I had booked through Hotels.com and so upon check in there was some other requirements - which wasn't great as we had booked this for high school volunteers that were going to be at the Canadian Tire Centre.

The room was nice and clean. Beds were super nice to sleep in. Breakfast had a nice variety of items to choose from. The only thing is it would have been nice to have real cups in the rooms for the coffee, not paper.

Very friendly and accomodating staff. Katimavik crosses Terry Fox to become Palladium. It takes approximately 40 minutes to walk to the Canadian Tire Centre.

Pleasantly surprised

Just stayed a night over the weekend. Were in Kanata for a concert. The rooms especially the beds and linens were extremely comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Not bad

Everything seemed good, the breakfast was ok, the room was ok. It was OK (a bit pricey but that is Ottawa for you....)

Terrible smell

As I walked into my room, i was greeted with the smell of dirty feet. I feel disgusted to sleep on these sheets. Staff were helpful by turning on the AC and covering up the smell with dryer sheets, but now we have to smell that all day.

Decent living for a family

This is a decent place, old building but clean. Good a family weekend. The only thing missing is the swimming pool on spot, but they offer a free entrance to a big swimming pool 5 minutes driving away.

I'm not usually quick to write a review when a location is really good and I don't have any issues but I figured this ChoiceHotel property deserved some very positive comments.
Stayed here 1 night while on business in Ottawa. Very friendly staff at check-in and it's rare that one receives the kind of welcome at a hotel that I received from Megan. Almost like seeing family again :) I can't even... more
