Location, Service and Food all exceptional
July 28, 2014We tried to go to La Mexicana, another Mexican restaurant on Yonge St but it was full. They recommended Cocina Lucero and I am so glad that they did. The staff were excellent and the food was fabulous. If you are looking for Mexican in Yorkville, you must give this place a try!

Very disappointing
May 11, 2014We went for Mother's Day yesterday. We ordered enchiladas, tacos, a soup and a cornmeal cake on a corn cob husk. None of us liked the food and the service wasn't so great either. I'm surprised to see positive reviews! The beef tacos where so stringy and unflavoured. Would not visit again.

Cocina Lucero is a tad expensive, but tasty

Great fish tacos

This isn't a really fancy restaurant but the food is great - especially the fish tacos, that include fish, shrimp or lobster. They don't come with alot of toppings but you can add your own which is nice. The beer selection is good too.

A lovely discovery

There were five of us and a baby in a pram, cruising, but becoming increasingly hungry. We came across this place, stopped in, and had a lovely, generous Mexican meal. It was very fairly priced and thoroughly enjoyable.
Given the opportunity, we all said we would go back.

Not worth the price

Good Mexican restaurant for lunch or birthday celebration

I had lunch several times at this restaurant and I enjoyed it. I paid $15-20 and ate a lot of authentic mexican food. One of my friends celebrated birthday here and invited me. The food is good. Especially, I liked the fact that they had mexican beer offered at this restaurant.
Overall, good place for lunch or small birthday parties.

And so much more! I love Cocina Lucero. The minute you walk in, you can tell it's a family business, which is just fantastic. The menu is a bit pricey compared to others in the area, but absolutely reasonable when you consider the quantity (huge portions) and the quality (always delicious).

Unusual breakfast
August 20, 2011Very nice Mexican. Extremely fresh ingredients. All food served hot and prepared to order. The burrito was excellent with eggs,cheese,avocado and tomatoes. Fresh fruit plate served with a lovely presentation. The staff was friendly and although their English was spotty our waiter was interested in improving. The outside setting was just right.

Excellent food & service for brunch
July 11, 2011My husband and I visited around lunchtime during the week and sat outside in the pleasant patio area. We both throughly enjoyed our food and found our servers to be excellent.
