The innovative and contemporary lobby design reflects the modernization of this landmark hotel in the centre of Vancouver. From the trendy pillar booths in the lobby to the kitchen-equipped suites
Fantastic location, super fancy lobby, room was ok. Public parking is in parkade behind the hotel but we didn't have any problems. Went there mainly for the comedy club but there was a private event happening. I would stay there again but might look around more.
I look forward to having my bi-weekly massages here, and I always get consistent ressults. I leave relaxed, rejuvenated, and stress free. I love the smell of the products they use ( not sure what they are called) but the front desk girls are amazing, and I feel very pampered when I'm here. Big plus.,.. you get a tasty spa salad after your massage!! yum
Gute Lage, nah an Bus und Bahn (10min zum Skytrain). Suite hervorragend für Familien mit zwei Kindern geeignet. Solider amerikanischer Standard mit akzeptablem Preis (über Expedia.de gebucht).
Incompetent booking, the rooms are built as an apartment building. No tv in bedroom.
Room was ok. Nothing exceptional about it. The temperature on the room was set to 25C which meant that I had to run the AC in order to be comfortable in late November. My room was on the 28th floor. Elevators feel old and rickity. It appears that there is no elevator for staff as most of the elevator stops up and down were for cleaning staff going between floors. The room rate appeared to be a... more
The lobby is a little deceiving, as it's extremely trendy. But, the rooms are merely comfortable. We had to sacrifice the full kitchen in order to get a room with two beds and a cot. My only complaint, is that we booked a room for three people, and we were forced to pay the extra money. But, we only got enough bathroom supplies and room keys for two. If they're going to charge us for an... more
I Checked in last September 29-October 1, 2010 at room 1101 I want you to know how unhappy we were with your service. When I approached the front desk she did not even greet us or even say hi. I booked online so i gave my name and other information she needs but she said "just wait". It took awhile waiting confirmation from her. When she asked me to fill out the form, she did not say pls and... more
We made reservations months in advance of a wedding we were attending at the hotel. We specifically said it was for 4 people and paid extra. We got to the hotel room and they had not given us the extra bed, towels, blankets, coffee, cups, etc. The bathroom sink is plugged, toilet does not flush properly, the closet door is broken and caused lots of problems as open it was in the way. There were... more
Stayed for four nights in a very comfortable studio suite on the 22nd floor. The room was nice and comfortable, and the staff was helpful and would draw on maps to help me get places. pros: had breakfast at the Beyond Restaurant which serves excellent breakfasts for only $7 and which included two eggs, 3-4 strips of bacon, two pieces of toast, potatoes, and some fruit. well-located within... more
I just want to let every one know, when you going their be care-ful fro yoru expensive stuff, I dont say all employee but I can not trust them because I lost my jacket and doesnt care about the price but for that spa it was really bad. I didnt have a good experince with management in century spa too. they doing favouritism in that spa between employers. I dont recomend this spa and i will tell... more
Our experience at Century Plaza was perfect! The front desk was more than helpful, they gave great directions since we were able to walk everywhere (with 2 kids). We had a kitchenette in the room and an organic market on the next street (Davy St?) There was another huge market just down the street as well with everything we needed. We bought our own coffee and creamer and had wonderful coffee... more
Hotel was in a great location within walking distance to shopping, retaurants, grocery store and 7/11, public transporation. Check in/out was quick and room was very quiet, clean, spacious, and beds very comfortable. Its definitely a great value compared to other hotels I researched in the area and what was offered. Hotel was directly across the street from the Sheraton Wall.
great value hotel. one befroom suite for less then a room at many other vancouver hotels
Needed two rooms at the very last minute and Orbitz offered this place. Surprising, it was outstanding. The location was convenient to Davies street with wide selection of restaurants and four blocks from shopping district. On the 20th floor, fine view of the city which was great even at night. Room just a little bit worn but mattresses and showers were high quality and tiny kitchen worked... more
This hotel is centrally located downtown with lots of surrounding restaurants and shopping on Robson. The room was clean and quite spacious. The service was pretty darn good too. Spa looks wonderful--ran out of time.
this hotel has been updated and is very comfortable.Restaurant food excellent and the location is greTFor all downtown amenities
The hotel room was roomy with a beautiful view of downtown Vancouver. The staff was helpful. Parking in convenient.
Extremely good experience. Lobby and restaurant first class all the way. Rooms are very good size with sitting area, kitchenette and very comfortable bed. Bathroom including shower was excellent. The comedy club located in the hotel gave us excellent entertainment for a very low price.
Hotel is in a great location for going to places in the "heart" of downtown Vancouver. The hotel was clean, reasonably comfortable and the decor was very modern or post modern in design. However, the room and the hotel in general looked like it was old construction. The doors and the paint had nicks and scratches throughout the hotel. The water faucet in the shower was old and looked like it was... more
This place is in a great location and the lobby/bar is excellent. The rooms do not match what you get in the lobby though. A little older, dated, but overall clean. I was expecting more for the money but you are paying for location. The parking is extra, and there is only free wifi in the lobby.
We had a double studio room with full kitchen and mountain views. The room was large and clean with comfortable beds. The hotel reception, bar, restuarant and coffee shop were very modern and clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is near to the Skytrain Station and there is a bus stop just outside the hotel.
Our room at Century-Plaza was large, with a small kitchen and sitting room. It was centrally located to many must see locations and was one of the stops for the Big Bus Hop on Hop off, which helped us see areas of Vancouver that were further away without having to take the car out of the garage. Service was great and our room had a view that was WOW.
we really enjoyed our stay and the room was excellent. a bit on the noisey side as we faced the main street but overall an excellent stay.
Spacious hotel room great for families. great location- short drive to Stanley Park, Granville
Visited Vancouver with my two grandchildren and stayed two nights at the Century Plaza. We had a wonderful stay in the hotel. The reservation staff, front desk and cleaning staff were so helpful and thorough. Room was clean and spacious. Children enjoyed the pool. Location was excellent. Lots of assistance in locating tour and bus services. Would definitely return.
we had an excellent stay, courteous reception clerk but high parking fees
Great location, expensive parking
Great location for shopping, clubs, bars, restaurants, meeting friends, etcHotel is in good condition. Lobby is beautiful, rooms are clean, large, simple.
[...] got a good rate for a central downtown location. It's a busy downtown and even on the upper floors there is street noise, so expect that. The room was very comfortable, not pretentious, or some might use elegant. My room had a wet bar, two queens and plenty of living room. I found the building to be old and well maintained. The help was great at the bar and restaurant and the check-in/out... more
There was problem with internet....very slow. They should try to improve/upgrade the internet.
Great service and a good hotel with large rooms. I would recommend this hotel.
The hotel is beautiful and close to everything in downtown Vancouver. The staff was especially friendly and the rooms are wonderful!
The doors have a tendency to slam, which can really wake you up if people next to you are up late. Other than that, great room, decent breakfast, good location.
Room was clean and but the shower was not working almost every time. When somebody in the room beside uses the shower it completely stops the shower in our room. Complained the first day but no change. Had to live with it. Hotel is right in the city of Vancouver, walkable to to almost all restaurants and entertainment place. Internet access comes with a charge per night. The front desk did not... more
I upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. There was only one small tv in the living room and none in the bedroom. In addition, for $9cad, we bought wireless internet access for the night. The signal was very weak and cut out frequently in the living room but was strong in the bedroom. When I wanted to watch tv and my partner wanted to be online, we had to be in separate rooms. The parking charge... more
Large room , more than I expected.Across street from Healing Seminar I attended.
renovated vancouver landmark, located in the heart of downtown. close to shopping, restaurants and theatres and located right next to st.paul's hospital.very friendly staff and wonderful spa.
We have been to Vancouver a number of times for long weekends. We never found a hotel that we would like to go back for our next visit.... until now. The Century Plaza was located 2 blocks from Robson Street, The Shopping street. Buses were convenient, as well as taxi and hotel parking. There were numerous restaurants around us. We did not try the spa, but it looked very nice, with reasonable... more
Situated in the heart of Vancouver's premier shopping district near the art gallery, we were very impressed by the renovations made to this hotel to create a modern, trendy atmosphere. We enjoyed taking advantage of the cafe each day for breakfast, after sampling the excellent food choices on the menu. And what a lovely addition to have an upscale day spa adjoining the lobby. Excellent value... more
Lobby fantastic, hotel rooms somewhat dated. Inner city location saved this old gem... Staff attitude varied, not so helpful in the mornings... more
Nice location, pleasant staff, really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is centrally located to Robson Street, Yaletown, and Granville Island. The room (2508) was big enough and the view was superb. The "kitchenette" consisted of a small refrigerator, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, an microwave. No stove-top or heating element of any kind. The room heating control did not function and the hot water was off because of a burst pipe. When it came back on... more
The hotel was clean and had parking. Though you had to pay for parking but that's normal in downtown Vancouver. I liked that there was a kitchen and you had the option of eating in because food is more expensive in Vancouver than it is in Washington. Right now the US dollar and Canadian dollar are 1 to 1, so eating in is a money saver. But I'll have to say getting a pumpkin latte from the... more
Room was excellent. Downsides were ... internet was chargeable and we booked for 4 persons in the room. It took 3 hours to get the sheets brought up for the additional bed despite being informed that it would be done immediately.
We stay in the hotel on the way to Whistler. The location way great, you may just walk to almost everything in downtown. The room (Superior Suite - 1BR with Kitchen, Balcony)was located on 8th floor and had a very nice view on Sheraton hotel with the wonderful water features and night lights.I cannot complain about an outside noise, since I use to leave on very busy city street. Both beds in the... more
This was a trip for pleasure while my mother in law was in town, and we booked the hotel last minute. It was a great price and fantastic location, within walking distance to everything. Vancouver is a great city, but the crime and drug use is pretty bad and out in the open. Seemed to bother us less the last time my husband and I were there. The 24 hours we were there this time was great until... more
Excellent location / relatively inexpensive. Room was clean. No frills.
Hotel was great, but would not plan on eating at hotel restaurant as they have only a few items for each meal, those were expense. My husband ordered breakfast (2eggs, sausage, toast, potatoes) and I had bagel with cream and coffee. Bill came to $19.
The hotel very nice for the location and price.Three star with an internation feel.
The front desk help was fantastic!
[...] I am not happy with this property. The room we got 2102 was at a old portion of the hotel. It needs lot more updating. It had only 1 AC in the living room. Bedroom was getting very hot. Both rooms were shabby and need fresh coat of paint. Balcony and glass doors were dusty. Also the TV remote didn't work at first. We took this suite because we had 2 teenage children. That room didn't have... more
We enjoyed our stay very much but would have liked a microwave dish as part of the kitchen equipment. We will probably be back.
nice large room with balcony and privacy for older son. salt water pool was a treat. room was a little sparcely decorated, but the price was right and the location helpful. If you rent bikes, find one closer to Stanley Park than the one they suggest.
Gute, ruhige Lage. Freundliche und hilfsbereite Mannschaft. Empfehlenswert.
Wonderful hotel in a central location with amazingly large rooms! Highly recommended!
The bathroom sink faucets needed lubricating, and we had considerable difficulty adjusting water temperature in the shower - it was either too hot or too cold. It would have been nicer if the maid didn't make the bed using the dirty sheet we had put on the floor. The kitchenette was very useful to us. There were enough dishes - though the frying pan was missing! The people at the front desk... more
A number of our family members came to Vancouver for a wedding, and we all were very pleased with the rooms and service at the Century Plaza. Great location, fine service, knowledgeable and very helpful concierge.
Stayed a total of 3 nights. Room was large, clean and had all usual facilities and a kitchenette as well as good views. Staff were helpful. Only downside was the lack of ice making machines on floors - quite unusual in Canada in our experience. It's a bit if a drag having to take a lift to the first floor... more
I was in Vancouver for a Convention in the second week of June for 6 days and the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa couldn't have been a better choice. Right in the heart of Downtown, reasonable room rates, I was in a Suite on the 21st Floor great view, very spacious, neat and clean rooms, big double beds along with a... more
My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the Century Plaza. It was a decent place to stay for the price, which we found a great deal on Hotels.ca that the hotel beat by an additional 5%. The room wasn't as modern as the lobby looked, but was large and clean. We were there over the long weekend and... more
My boyfriend and I planned a very last minute trip to Vancouver for his 25th birthday. We are young and budget conscious, but I am definitely kind of a princess when it comes to lodgings and I don't like swapping comfort for savings. We found a really good deal on rooms at this hotel (considering how late we started looking)... more
I really liked this hotel. We booked a studio suite because it was the lowest priced room available, and we got a lot of room for our money! The staff were really helpful - thanks to the bell captain's advice (I think that's what they called him - the guy on the information desk!) we were able to complete our... more
This is an addition to my previous reviews about the bedbugs. I spoke to the management about the problem and they rectified it. Not only refunding my trip but ensuring that they would call an exterminator to clear the room of any infestations for the next traveler. The woman I dealt with promptly answered emails and inquiries pertaining to the... more
I stayed at The Century Plaza last week, I had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean and done up nicely and felt very comfortable, the service was wonderful and the area was also brilliant. My husband and I stayed at the Century Plaza for a long weekend. The hotel was a great price and terrific location. We spent two weeks in Canada, firstly staying at the Pacific Palisades in Downtown Vancouver for a few days unfortunately this was converted to affordable apartments at the end of April we then went to the Yukon for a week before seeing out the last few days in the Century Plaza. I stayed in this hotel during a conference that took place in the Sheraton across the road in May 2010. Rooms were as good as in the Sharaton, but much better valued. The Century Hotel (lets leave out the spa for now) is a really well advertised trick. Though it is sufficient for a short stay and looks good in pictures, it might as well be a Best Western (did it use to be a Best Western?). The lobby will trick you into thinking you are in a boutique hotel but once... more
My wife booked the room for $95/night. Her meeting was across the street at a hotel that was $185/night. I thought the Century was a bargain. The rooms were very nice and comfortabe. I think the real key to enjoying the hotel is the Concierge, Abdul. He steered us to several spots for lunch, etc that made our trip more... more
Had extended stay here due to volcanic ash! Staff could not have been more helpful; front desk stff made checking in/out fast efficient and friendly; provided print -outs of routes to various places; stored luggage when we went on overnight stay in Victoria; were concerned at the inconvenience the re-routing of aircraft had caused us. Food was delicious; cafe beyond... more
The 'Century Plaza' in downtown Vancouver has seen better days, although located in a most central location, within walk distance to the town center and the more 'cool' areas, over all i can say that it is not in a good shape, and don't let the nice renovated and modern lobby trick you, the rooms are in desperate need of... more
This is a nice hotel nothing special but quite nice. The staff were freindly and helpful and the food in the resturant was tasty. The rooms were large and comfortable. Stayed on the 28th floor in a room with a fabulous view. Very reasonable rate. King size bed with a really cute kitchen. The bathroom could use updating but very clean. Overall, a good stay here for two days. After some initial snootiness at the front desk -- apparently, I did not inform them I had a dog. This is true, but there was nowhere on the reservation website that asked me for that info. And they are registered on 'Pets Can Stay' as dog friendly. So, I was a bit... more
Spent four nights at the Century Plaza while attending a conference nearby. Room was very basic but everything worked. Good restaurant. Service was excellent throughout my stay -- everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeper was friendly and seemed to genuinely care. Will be back!
Have stayed at this hotel 3 times with my boyfriend on our way to whistler and have never been disappointed! It was renovated prior to our arrival which was good. You can't go wrong with the price, especially if you've booked online via expedia or aircanada.com (about the same prices). This was our second stay here and we found it still very good value, it is a pity we don't have suite hotels of this standard in major UK cities. The food was excellent and reception and doorman we very obliging. It is great to have such a large suite for so little cash.
I was a bit worried about this hotel based on the reviews I read. The only reason why I booked a reservation at this hotel was because of the location and the cost of a room for less than a $100/night. The lobby is quite nice and the customer service at the front desk was fine. The hotel room I... more
I booked a suite from what appeared to be their website. I expalined to the person at the booking office that I wanted a suite big enough for three adults and 3 small children. Century Plaza was the only hotel on Expedia in our price range, so we expected to end up somewhere rather shabby. However, we were very pleasantly suprised when we arrived there! Dining with a large birthday group, and attending the comedy club afterwards, we had forgotten the cards and gift certificates at the table. The staff, even though they knew we were downstairs, stole the gift certificates and threw the cards in the trash. The manager seemed to think this was a reasonable policy. I disagree. As a result we all... more
Stayed here for a girls night out, the front desk guy was creepy. The only good things about this hotel is the location and the view (we were on the 25th floor). The hotel boasts that it is recentley updated, but the carpets and paint are already looking well worn. Definitley not worth the $450. Would not stay again.
Nothing spectacular about this hotel and the rooms are getting a bit tired. However, they were clean and fairly roomy for the price. Convenient to downtown. The comedy club in the basement proved to be a lot of fun.
We stayed there the last week of October and stayed in an Executive Suite in the upper 29th level. The view over the city was fantastic, but the noise very disturbing, also given the fact that a hospital was next door. The room was very big but interior not the latest and walls could do with some refurbishings; a night... more
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Century Plaza on a recent visit to Vancouver. We found the staff friendly and caring, the room was large, clean and complete with all the amenties. The location is as central as you can get and handy to most downtown Vancouver sites. We will definetly stay there again.
Travelling with a fussy 10YO (daughter) makes it difficult at times to find a place that make us all feel welcome, but we had no concerns staying at the Century Plaza. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was a family friendly, as well as business-like, environment. The location is great, being within walking distance to downtown/city, and even... more
Without a doubt....this hotel was one of the finest experiences of our month long vacation. from the unrequsted upgrade to a suite on the 24th floor to the care and consideration we were given, by everyone....every day.....there has to be something better than a "5"
Staff on evening check in was pleasant and friendly. Encounters with day staff found them to be rude and unhelpful. Room, just ok, it was dated but clean; furniture in room was worn and lighting was not great; room lamps were old and did not work well.Noise from street was loud-close to hospital so lots of sirens. The service and food in the Beyond Blue Resturaunt was fantastic. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Very clean and very friendly and helpful staff.
The location is very central and since we were travelling with children needed a larger room. This hotel did not dissapoint and the service far exceeded our expectations, we will be back for sure.
we stayed here for 3 nights after travelling from Toronto on the "canadian" train and I must it was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is definately a four star, big airy rooms, spotlessly clean. The restaurant was good value Reception service excellent
We recently stayed at this hotel and we can't think of a bad thing to say about it. Everything was better then anything we could have asked for. The hotel staff went out of their way to help us out and were always very friendly. This hotel is located perfectly, it's within walking distance to just about anything you could... more
My first trip to Vancouver. Spent a lot of time on the computer researching for hotels and for the price I choose The Century Plaza. Was moving my newly graduated college daughter there to live. The Century Plaza is in an excellent, central location. Its just blocks from Robson. I would definitely stay at the Plaza on my next trip to Vancouver. The hotel was hip without being obnoxious or snobby. We stayed on the 18th floor and had a nice view of Vancouver.
Well, let me start by saying that I will never stay at the century plaza again! This is my second stay at this hotel, only because everything else was fully booked. They tried to put us in a different room than what we ordered, then charged us extra to upgrade because they had given away the room we actually booked.... more

i had a great stay at the century plaza. it's location is right on the airporter route so transportation to and from the airport was easy. also, it is located two blocks from robson & from davie, walking distance to shopping and restaurants. the hotel lobby and restaurant were very nice. i received a $10 voucher for the restaurant (beyond) and used it for breakfast; the eggs benedict was... more
Bright spacious suite. Could use some updating. Not up to the standard of other downtown Vancouver hotels. Nice lobby, and restaurant, but rooms don't match this quality level. 3 star at best. Convenient location to most downtown venues
