Went to Celtic Corner for a beer with friends, I've never been to this location before last night after living in the area for a few months, and will definitely be returning. I got the chicken bacon melt with potatoes & veggies which was more than expected. So much chicken (breast, not breaded) on the burger (which is rare) and simple potato wedges with broccoli.

It was a lot of food for under... more

This was a burger week scope the place out visit. E and I both went for the burger week special which was one they normally have on the menu, the trio burger - 8oz Angus patty, bacon, and cheddar. He got a poutine with it and I went with onion rings because they carry a beer battered one. Yum, one of my faves! We both got iced tea as a drink. I was not impressed with the burger. I doubt that it... more

My Wife & I stopped in here after watching the Halifax Fireworks on July 1st at the recommendation of our Hotel desk Clerk! I must say that we were very Impressed! Classic Pub, delicious food, great service and MAYBE the best patio in the HRM.

Oh you want MORE??? Well I don't get to Dartmouth too often but when I do in the summer, I usually end up here on the patio. They have such a fantastic view of the Halifax skyline. The perk of Dartmouth is looking at the waterfront of Halifax.

The food is simple but consistent. You will not be disappointed but it... more

Great beer selection and excellent food. What can I say! Everyone knows it so its hard to get seats sometimes, but wells worth the wait. Or go to the stand up bar and have a pint! What a great view from their terrace patio! Ocean and harbour view! Great beer, great service, great food, makes a great place!

Ah the Celtic...my go to pub in Dartmouth. I usually nickname it the "Old Triangle version 2.0", for in many ways it does resemble the Old Triangle pub in Halifax. The staff are always fun, local micro-brewery beer is delish, and the food menu has some choice items on it also: although nachos are not an Irish food specialty that I am aware of, they make them delicious here. Celtic also offers... more

I just love the Celtic. They can accommodate large groups on weekends for live music, and they've got snug little hidey-holes for intimate date nights.

The staff are awesome, the curry and chips are TO DIE FOR and the Guinness is cold. Also, their rooftop patio has gorgeous views of the Halifax Harbour in the summertime (and there's a tap up there, so no long waits for suds! Bonus!)

Celtic Corner is pretty reliable. I've been there many times for lunch and a few times for dinner. Usual Pub offerings are on the menu and the food is very good. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is very Pub-like. Get there early if you are going for lunch on a Thursday or Friday.

Great pub food and very good live music

It can be a busy spot on some nights. The service is excellent and the choice of good ol fashioned pub food is generous including some Irish dishes. Portions are excellent and I haven't tried a dish there in a number of visits I didn't like. The bands that play there are also very good.

I am suspicious after reading other positive reviews that my boyfriend and I may have ordered wrong... I ordered the fisherman's pie (like sheppard's pie but with fish & seafood base). The base was quite rich and very heavy on black pepper. It consisted of one chunk of salmon, one chunk of haddock, one scallop, and one shrimp. It wasn't awful but definitely not something I would order again. I... more

Went here with a group of Yelpers for a Saturday afternoon, beer and bite. They accommodated our group of 11 pretty easily. Drink orders were promptly taken and arrived pretty quickly. A good selection of beer, I believe I had a Harp.

A couple plates of nachos and a munchie platter were ordered for the table. Those too came pretty quickly. The nachos were piled with lots of good stuff and the... more

Good food, cold drinks, easy location, friendly service.

Food: 3/5
Tasty, but slightly more bland than I expected. I ordered the Trinity Steak Boxty with the Caesar Salad, and it wasn't bad. BUT, I expected a bit more richness to the Potato Pancake covering diced up steak, mushrooms and onions. It was ok, but not great. I've had the Maple Curry Chicken, and it's great, but it won't make up for... more

Need a great place for fish & chips and a cold Guinness ? Well search no more I've found the place.

Celtic Corner is a Celtic gem found in downtown Dartmouth ..but don't let this stop you from checking it out. After spending much of the summer on the Celtic Corner rooftop, I suggested it for my mom's birthday dinner. My family hadn't been here for a few years, and it reminded them of how much of a gem this place really is.

I haven't been here often, but, I've enjoyed it each time!

On Saturday's they seem to be quite busy - with a live band and extremely attentive bar staff who keep reminding you that you have ordered shots earlier with "can I get you another round of shots?"

I've really only popped my body into the ever so dartmouth loved Celtic Corner like 3 times in my life.

Each time, I soak up the overwhelming robust atmosphere. She's definitely a pub! And you definitely can't knock it. I love me a good pub. Two words: rooftop patio.

Okay a few more words: getting up to the patio can be a little confusing for first timers. You go up one flight and come out onto parking lot area...

Look to your right a little bit for the next set of stairs 30 feet in front of you.

Yes those stairs.

Now get up there and drink some cold beer and marvel at the view. Bring some friends and reminisce about the good... more

My Celtic Corner experience is limited. I've visited a grand total of once.

But it was a hot summer evening, and we were headed to check out the patio upstairs. After the mysterious trek through the back stairs of the building, finding the parking garage out back where the green turf carpet somewhat elusively led us to the patio stairs, I was pleasantly surprised. This is one seriously... more

Now that summer is finally upon us, might I suggest venturing up to the rooftop patio at the Celtic Corner. If you enter the front door of the pub, it is a rather circuitous route up a dingy (bordering squalid) set of stairs, but it is worth it to get to the top. You will be pleasantly suprised by the ample seating, sun exposure, and most importantly, the fantastic view of the Halifax... more

Not just the best pub in Dartmouth, but one of the best in the HRM, period. For starters, the Celtic Corner has great atmosphere. It may not be as old as many of the pubs in the Emerald Isle, but it definitely has that lived-in feel of a true Irish pub, not just the plastic Paddy feel of so many Irish pubs in Halifax. It also has a great selection of draft, and consistently good pub grub: not... more

My friends and I went out to dinner at Celtic Corner for my birthday this weekend. It's an often overlooked spot when we run down the available restaurant choices in Dartmouth, likely because it's tucked into an odd spot downtown Dartmouth. However, I was very happy we thought of this place.

Great atmosphere, wonderful food and the best draught beers. On the average Friday night, Celtic Corner is pretty busy and the clientele range in age from early twenties to seniors. Staff is friendly (mostly) and customers happy. Probably the best pub in Dartmouth.

Just writing this review makes me crave the days of summer. The days when the crisp golden sun tattoos your body, and an ice cold beer is all that can soothe you.

The Corner is my lovely local, can't beat rolling down the hill to drink (and the walk back up the hill is made infinitely easier with gin). You will always run into people you know and your beer (or gin) always arrives promptly and with a smile.

I seem to go here on the worst possible days - like when a conference on a Sunday takes over the joint. Having said that, the service was pretty darn good considering there wasn't a free seat to be had. The Celtic Corner isn't exactly a pristine spot - so if you are expecting a gleaming bathroom and spotless floors look elsewhere.
