Best place in town
August 04, 2014Where do you go if you do not want pub grub in Lakefield- try Cassis Bistro. The prices are upscale but the food was excellent. reservations recommended unless you are there mid week. We were able to walk right in around 7:30 pm.

wonderful meal
July 08, 2014This small bistro served us beautiful and tasty meals. One of the best dinners we had all week. Thank you to the chef. The room was full but the service was fine even though the waitress had to run up and down stairs as the kitchen was on the lower level. We will return if we are in the area.

Lovely
May 30, 2014We had dinner here while vacationing in the area. The scallop with pernod appetizer was to die for and my steak was perfectly cooked and came with a medley of vegetables. The two sisters who own the place are wonderful and make you feel like you are eating at home.

Great date night

This is our favorite date night place to go. It's also great if you're going out with a few couples for a party.
Excellent food, good sized portions, nice amount of choice, great service.
Only downside is that the mean little wooden chairs are VERY uncomfortable but otherwise this is fabulous.

A pleasant surprise
July 15, 2013Our meal was excellent. The roast rack of lamb was perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce. The vegetables were varied and imaginatively prepared. The restaurant is only a few doors away from the Village Inn so we were able to enjoy of good bottle of wine with our meal. We look forward to returning in the fall.

Quick light lunch

Rich, tasty
May 15, 2012Not as amazing as the superlative meal I had at Riverhouse, which rivals some great meals I've had in much bigger towns. However, Cassis was very good. Rich, French-inspired cuisine, and quite tasty. Service was also nice. Lakefield is lucky to have two nice restaurants for such a small town.

My husband and I had lunch here on the 1st of October.
The service and ambience was impeccable. We had soup and quiche for lunch, quite reasonable priced and very delicious. The restaurant has a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere.
