Worth the drive from Ottawa

While lately in Ottawa, we were dependent on taxi's. A relatively short drive from our hotel--worth the trip. Beautifully appointed restaurant and impeccable service. Our table was perfect! The food was elegant and well presented. Enviable wine list.

We recently went to see the Piano Men. The tickets were free which was a good thing. The show was not very good and people were walking out. The food is second rate at first rate prices. Very disappointed in the overall experience. Now I remember why I only go to see a show there every 4 or 5 years.

I hate feeling like an out-of- towner, not knowing where to eat, going to the closest thing to our hotel.

The casino is world class, the restaurant is AAA/CAA 5 diamonds, the setting is near a lake right in the center of the city of Gatineau, across the river from Ottawa. There is a very good Hotel in the same complex and a theater with good entertainment and you can even heliport in the complex.

I go there to the casino only a few times a year. Try the Z zone you can put just a little money and win a lot. Good for first timers that don't have a lot of money to spend but want to try it.

So the buffet is long gone, which i'm still mourning.

The replacement banco is actually not that bad. The first time I looked at their menu, I quickly walked out of the restaurant (partly because I was so angry that the buffet was gone), but I should have gave it a try.

My office goes here frequently for Christmas parties & they are fine dining connoisseurs, the service is amazing, very professional, prompt, courteous, the food is delicious & beautifully displayed. I chose to go there with friends on my own time as well.

A cigar is a great place to meet up with treps. Lac Leamy is a little kept secret on the Quebec side of the Ottawa Area. Gorgeous view of the city overlooking the river. A cozy little hide away.
