We stayed here in Aug 2013 as part of a road trip for our 5th anniversary. We were looking forward to going to Niagara Falls & staying at this hotel spoilt it for us. We booked online before we went.
Upon arrival after a long drive, the 'receptionist' wasn't anywhere to be seen.
Our credit card(s) didn't work in their...

The young lady at the desk was very polite and nice. The rooms are very nice. For the price you cannot go wrong. We were motel searching before and this one was the most affordable, and has a more comfortable/classier atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, the beds are pretty comfy..there's a pull-out couch, you can adjust heat or a/c. If you're... more
If you're not going to read my whole review then I at least want you to know: "You are better off sleeping in your car! Your reservation is not guaranteed here! You will go to check-in just to find out that they gave your room away to someone paying more money and they have no other rooms to give you!... more
Worst stay I ever had.Staff unhelpful,as they closed early and where not there to help in evening.Did not have key ready when I arrived and had to hunt a lady down to unlock my room at 11:00 at night and office was closed. Was told to go knock on a room door of someone I did not know. When I got in... more
There were so many unexpected things wrong with this place that it's difficult to list them all -- rooms smell awful, carpets are filthy, noisy, no plug for the sink, only one little bit of soap, no outlet available for computer, office closes early so cannot phone them to get any action/satisfaction, wireless internet is password protected and cannot get... more
I am now 21, but it has been 6 years since I've been to this hotel. We used to go up to Canada every Summer, until Canada and the United States required the enhanced license/passport. I always remember it as a clean, friendly and safe hotel. They have an amazing indoor pool and hot tub. Times change though, and I'm... more
This motel is always having the hydro go off along with the heat and hot water.the owners never care cause they live in the own warm houses. This is an extended stay facility and even though u pay your rent it doesn't matter how it takes till the hydro, heat, and water is putt back on..I would advise u never to stay here... more
My brother inlaw wrote a review but forgot to include that there was only scalding hot water in our room, so I had to use the shower in there room. I couldn't call the service desk because the phones didn't work. Did he mention the rooms smelled old and musty...thank god we had some Fabreeze in the car!!!

It was so expensive because the hotel is awful and is not clean. I beleive that are better hotels for that rate.
My rother, myself and our wives decided to drive from Indianapolis, IN to Niagra Falls and then to stay on the Canadian side. When we take these trips we like to sort of roll with the punches and not do a lot of planning, "usually" more fun that way as we can decide on a detour and not sweat losing... more
This was by far the worst place I've ever stayed in my life!!! Will never go back..... ever! It's a shame really because from the outside, it appears to be quite charming. The inside however, is dingy, dirty, outdated and disgusting. Yes, we found a cockroach!
on first impression i thought we were in for a rough weekend. we came for a soccer tournament with the kids, and when we pulled in i saw the people in the back who are permanent residents. the area looked a bit shady and run down. upon arriving in our room we were pleasantly surprised very clean.
When booking your trip to the Falls, spend a little extra money and stay somewhere else. This hotel leaves alot to be desired. The outdoor pool was dirty (my children found cigarette butts and empty cups floating in it). The area surrounding the hotel is run down and "adult" stores are everywhere. Very dissatisfied with our experience at the hotel, but you get what you pay for.
My husband recently started working in Niagara Falls,so I went to spend 10 days with him. He is staying at the Carriage House,a very affordable and clean motel .It has a very nice outdoor and indoor pool. The owners and the staff are some of the nices people I have ever meet!
I will be going back to the Falls...

i stayed at the carriage house for about 3 months. the people that live here parrty all the time, they let their kids run wild. the outdoor pool is dirty and so is the indoor one. the jacuzzi doesnt even work. i had to beg to get a bigger tv in my room and to get rid of the extra... more
Will never stay here again, told maintenance about toilet leaking and was never fixed whole time we stayed there, we had to put towels on floor to soak up water. look like they rent it out as apartments now. scary, shady people there. did not feel safe.
This place was dirty had old dried semen stains on the linens. This "motel" is used for street walks on Lundy's lane. basically they use the same sheets when the rent the room by the hour.
- stayed 3 nights and enjoyed ourselves totally! Room was a little dated, but was great size, comfortable and clean.(in fact we were not happy with first room and we were upgraded immediately)... the bed was firm and a great sleep....bathroom clean and one of the best showers i ever used!...The restaurant onsite served a great breakfast and the owners were... more
I had researched a variety of motels before going for the weekend with my family and the Carriage House seemed like the perfect place to stay. Everything I had found out about it was true, clean, friendly, an overall beautiful place to stay.
At check-in, we were recieved by a young girl who was very nice and polite. She gave...

We had booked with a very nice lady and had corespondance with a man in April and we were looking forward to our stay. We arrived at the motel and were amazed to find new owners (according to the front desk staff) and the people we made our reservations with had been all fired..........sounds fishy to me. The rooms were... more
I stayed in the Carriage House Motor Lodge for New Year's Eve 2009. It was great. The room was clean and spacious; the quality of sleep that we had was excellent. The indoor pool and jacuzzi room are fun as well. A nice warm, relaxing jacuzzi after a long 6 hour drive is much appreciated.
The staff are friendly and...

I've been staying at the Carriage House on a regular basis during the past years, as I've visited the Niagara Falls many times. Maybe it's the moment for me to write a little bit about my stay experience there.
First I have to say this is a friendly place with friendly staff, that's partly why I'm always returning. Second, that...

This was the second of our weekends in the Falls for SPN Provincials and someone else did the rooming arrangements. Unfortunately, this was perhaps our worst stay ever. We usually stay elsewhere (The Bonaventure - review to follow), but my wife wanted to stay with her team. On the Saturday my wife returned from her game and wanted to shower,... more
We just got back from a tournament and stayed in this motel. The rooms where we stayed were not nice (dirty, small, "scarey"). The outside pool had beer caps in the bottom. The inside pool was warm but the "gigantic hot tub - their words not mine - only had room for five and it was GREEN. I wanted to... more
Stayed here as part of a team weekend tournament and was incredibly disappointed with the lodge. We had to spend most of our time outside the room as the stink of mold was so overwhelming. We were told that the carpets had just been steam cleaned, but it must have been done with gallons of dirty water. The decor was... more
My family and I have stayed here every winter since a was eight and we keep going back everytime we're in Canada.
We went on a little family vacation and booked our hotel through an agency. The place was a complete horror show with blood in the room and all. We gave up the money for the 2 nights we paid for and got out of there real quick.
We walked a couple hotels down and found the Carraige House. Wow what...

I recently stayed in the section around the pool area. I would call this the budget friendly rooms. I was looking to simply lay my head down to rest. The rooms were clean and very spacious. I realized that there were 3 different types of accomodations to this hotel. If I knew that I was coming here I would obviously... more

We booked this hotel, expecting to stay one night based on favourable reviews. In the line up to check in there was a man complaining that the toilet in his room was not working. We checked in and were assigned a room on the 1st floor around...

We stayed at Carriage House twice in April, 2007. The first time was to check out the Lodge as we were planning on bringing out-of -province relatives with special needs. There are two levels of accommodation and it is worth staying in the luxury suites. The rooms are spacious with either patio type doors that open to a small sitting... more

Went to the carriage house with my wife and three kids. It was a great stay. Very accmodating to the kids by having a pool indoors and having the ability to watch them right there. My wife loved the colours of the hotel. This must all be new, because it was not like this four years ago. Our sleep was... more
Just returned from the Carriage Hotel stay. Would never stay there again. We had two rooms one with a queen size bed and one with two double beds. We used this motel in March 2006 and paid 69.50 CDN per night plus tax for the building connected to the pool. First the good stuff. It has a large indoor pool, the room was clean with a quiet heater and the queen size bed was very comfortable. There was very little noise from the road out front.
Now the...

This Hotel is very clean, the room that we stayed in was not outdated. It had a new tv, well furnished, very clean bathroom. The pool was warm and the hot tub awesome. Very quiet, nice hotel. Its only downfall is that it is a ways away from Clifton Hill. Have stayed here a few times before and will again.
Stayed the weekend of July 10, 2004. Place looked ok from the outside but that's as good as it got. Rooms are outdated, carpets dirty and musty. Balcony and chairs are rusty and could not be used. Ammenities; HUGE 20" tv with about 3 channels to choose from, the converter was held together with old hockey tape. Shower and bathroom... more
It was a wonderfully clean hotel. We have stayed here twice. Once int he summer, once in the winter. The pools were clean and warm. The rooms were comfortable. The kids had lots of room to stretch out and play with their toys. Would recommend it to anyone!
The motel was not that bad. the pool was nice and clean. The breakfast was decent. The rooms were very old fashioned. Old knob t.v. , ect. The rooms could use a sprucing up. But other than that it was not bad.
