good meal, decent price

Stopped there for lunch on the way back from PEI - easy location off highway. The waitress was friendly - the food (turkey sandwich) was definitely homemade and the milk shake was soothing. Someone in our party had a hot dog and they said they were not impressed but the homemade stuff all looked good.

Major disappointment
August 08, 2014Both AAA and Trip Advisor reviewers indicated the food here would be excellent. It was bland, flavorless. I even had to put salt and pepper in the clam chowder. If you're looking for lots of food for the money, this is your place. If you're looking for tasty, keep driving.

August 06, 2014This is a very small restaurant with really nice waitresses. I eat here for a meal every time I visit St. Stephen. The food is good. They have great home made desserts! My favorite is the roast turkey meal.

Although I live less than an hour up the road in Saint John, I had never been to Carman's until just this past week. I should have gone there year's ago as it was amazing - the food was absolutely amazing!! Home cooked!! And the homemade pie was beyond good!

Classic diner experience
October 13, 2013This restaurant has never updated which is part of its charm. People have been going here for over 50 years and I think most booths have the original upholstery. The food is classic fair with the exception of Friday. Their fish chowder is very good. If you order a sandwich - watch the mayonnaise, they like to load it on!

We loved this place because it is so old fashioned, so local, so clean and so pleasant.
We had eggs and toast and home fries and a Big Pancake! Delicious! With coffee, total price $13.30! I call that very reasonable.
Very nice, friendly service.

Wow, the decor hasn't changed since....well, since ever. Talk about nostalgia, with the possible exception of the prices.
