Central alberta’s first-classall-inclusive hotel, suite, tradeand convention centre
Our room was not cleaned and I had to go back down to reception to get a another room. My wife has a bad back (herniated disc) and had to sit on the floor while she waited. The toilet seat in the replacement room was broken and the plug ins did not work. One elevator was not working and caused long waits.
Only one elevator was working. It was a busy bar night, so at 3am the hallway noise woke me. The room was amazing.
The bathroom was way to small. And it was not clean. There was noise all night long that kept me up.
I've already explained my complaint earlier in the week, directly to the hotel website, and yet to receive any response. But I will explain in this forum as well. First, when I booked this reservation, I specifically asked for a quiet room. Our disappointment consisted of a very loud party that was in the unit above us. It was not explained to us, if there was a banquet room on the ninth floor... more
This is an older property undergoing renovation. The original standard king I booked was frankly, in the creepy back part of the building and not acceptable. Dark, with hallways & doors straight from a 1970's motor-inn. I paid a $40 upgrade fee to stay in the tower instead. The rooms in th tower have been redone, and are nice. Only one elevator was functioning and needed a serious cleaning.... more
only one elevator working considering the size of hotel this was an inconvenience for many people. Pool advertised on website also was under construction this is one of the reasons I booked the hotel for our two teen sons. tub drain did not work
Came to Red Deer for a sports tournament. Arrived Friday around 8pm, check in was relatively decent until the 15 wait for an elevator to take my family of 4 up to our room. 13 Floor hotel with only one elevator working was quite shocking....(only used elevator twice more the rest of weekend). The pool was out of order which we didn't know until we arrived. The put a small water and a large... more
Our room was really modern and clean, the staff was friendly. I just wish they offered breakfast, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby to compensate.
Room in older lower section (not tower) on 2nd level. Stairwell smelld strongly of cigarette smoke. Get to room, door hard to open due to moisture damage. Room smelled musty, carpet very stained. Had to call front desk for toilet paper as the only roll was 90% empty when we arrived. Decor nice but room very cramped. Not what I expect from a Sheraton at all. Disappointed.
Room reeked of cigarettes. Entertainment system let us watch half a movie and then wouldn't let us back in. They told us to unplug our tv and try again. We did. 3x. It didn't. The pool was just a big hole. It was under construction. At 8 am the backhoe began digging the new pool about 20 feet from our window. The only good thing was the food in the lounge. Great steak salad.
Hotel staff was great and hotel was clean. Good location as its central to everything. over all good stay.
Hotel was ok but the room we stayed in was not that great, nice furnishings but that was all the carpets were ripped in places and stained, the room kinda smelt musky and the romance package I ordered to be in the room was not there I had to call and ask for it (so much for the surprise )
It was a very clean room beds were very comfortable I would stay there again
We are usually afraid of the noise at the room located at the main street, but in this Sheraton Hotel, maybe well designed and calculated to keep from the noise of the Main Street, we were not bothered with the St,t all, so we enjoyed all the time the comfort and the elegance of the Hotel. Thank you!! I hope the elevator repair work will be finished as soon as possible. However, thanks to the... more
This hotel met all my needs. Friendly and quick check-in, room with a view and amenities on-site.
Joe's Deli was fantastic as well.
There was a lounge on-site but I couldn't resist the Boston Pizza across the street!
Upon check in we found the pool to be down, the steam room didn't work and the floor we were booked still smelled heavy of smoke. We ended up changing floors but only to have to negotiate another obstacle of getting down from the 13th floor with only one working elevator. None of this was disclosed on the website or... more
Nice place to stay and good place for a conference. The room was clean, free bottled water was a great touch. Facilities for the conference were great and food service email was good. Gym was mall but still enough for quick workout.
The hotel itself was clean, rooms well appointed, and the restaurants were good. The facility itself was a very nice hotel. However, a HUGE negative was the fact that of the two elevators, one was completely out of service, and the other broke down several times each day we were there. The pool and steam room were also out of... more
This hotel is such a mix! The redone rooms are nice, the beds are very comfortable and the towels are plush. We had requested connecting rooms but were told that they were not available when we checked-in. When we spoke to a manager in the club level room later that evening she remarked how empty the hotel was. I said... more
Before I start this review, I have NEVER given a hotel this low of a rating or been this upset with a hotel stay. I travel mostly for work, so I'm in a hotel about 2/3 of the year. I usually stay at Hiltons or Sheratons, but after this visit, I will think 10 times before ever staying at a... more
This was a great hotel! I loved it! Everything was so luxerious (I know, I can't spell). Even the carpets were plush!
This hotel has everything you ever need in it, a salon, store, clothing boutique, martini bar, mini casino, adult bar, and a country bar. You really never have to leave. As well, there is a gym, and an outdoor pool.
Unique Quality: I think the only bad thing I can say about...

Didn't clean our room we have to ask even was late
Hotel amenities and clean room, staff is friendly and helpful
There was only one working elevator, mostly used by cleanning and service stuff, people - guest with lugges had to take the stairs. Rooms are big and clean. No impressed about coordination of the renovation.
Took Bicycle along and hotel very handy to bike paths and downtown.
This is the third time we have stayed at the Sheraton - and each time has been a good experience. The facility is lovely in itself, the staff friendly, and the amenities very nice. This visit meant we didn't have the pool since they are under construction and moving the pool indoors - but it still ranks higher by way of overall experience, modern decor, comfortable rooms and keeping a high... more
staff professional and friendly even though elevators were non-functioning for a time---they did their best to rectify an inconvenient situation---room lacked a lightbulb on nightstand but that is minor----overall a `place to stay again
Hotel staff friendly. Problems with elevators all 3 days. Food was good even though it seemed a little expensive for the size of portions.
My wife and I spent two nights here in end June 2014, our second visit in a year. Once again the room was upgraded and the lodging we received was clean, comfortable and spacious. Everything in the room worked fine and we found the staff were courteous and as anxious to please as one expects from a Sheraton. That said,... more

They don't know what they don't know...
What I mean by that is that I believe this hotel is run by people that don't understand customer service. They were not accomodating in any way. Constant mistakes with room service. The restaurant prices were as if it were fine dining, but the food is mediocre at best. It seemed to be...

Red Deer was our third stop (of seven) on the long drive from Kansas to Alaska and the Sheraton Red Deer Hotel was by far the best in every category on our trip across North America. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly and always helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and large. Very quiet hotel. Great beds and pillows. The... more
Love the room set up with reading chairs in a bay window. Beds super comfy, loved being able to have our dog with us. Down side was the noise from construction, all part of progress however had to relax , rest with jake hammering outside the window. Just finished golfing trip with 16 people and hot the golfing package. 3 night stay and 2 rounds of golf for a really great price. Drink voucher and complimentary golf ball. We stayed three nights here and were very satisfied with this hotel overall. Rooms were fairly clean and our floor happened to be very quiet. There was a decent sized mini fridge in the Traditional King room we had and we could tell the room and lobby/hallways had recently been updated. Nice to see an older hotel being maintained and... more
The staff at the Sheraton Red Deer were absolutely accommodating during our recent convention. The convention venues for our 350 people were great - set up on time, all the amenities were there and everything worked. Meals in the restaurant(s) were timely, delicious and affordable.
We stayed at this hotel for a conference for a few days. It is a clean hotel with good amenities. The staff are professional, efficient with great customer service skills. Our room was average with great bedding. Our only complaint would be the noisy air conditioning. The meals at the conference were excellent and the overall conference experience was superb.

This hotel is OLD and not nearly worthy of the Sheraton brand - very, very disappointed! The lobby has been nicely renovated & the rooms have been covered with a light coat of "lipstick" - which is a poor substitute for good construction.
Most (better) hotels have decent sound-rating between walls and floor-ceiling assemblies. This hotel does NOT - so...

Stayed for 2 nights........Room? Very nice Bed....King was comfortable....bathroom very clean and rest of room - generally excellent. However , bathroom fan motor was toast ( broken). Sounded like an old garberator trying to chew up a cow's hip-bone.....very loud and annoying.
Overall room was very good for the price.
Liked having real glasses in the room for wine and...

We stayed here in April of this year for a convention. The room was on the ground floor in the older part of the hotel. It was very small with no place to put anything including in the bathroom. My other concern was it was a pet friendly room and I have allergies! I asked to be moved but they... more
Stayed for a couple of nights on business this month. Was upgraded to a suite with my platinum status, very nice! The staff could not do enough to ensure my stay was excellent, from the follow up calls, to the complimentary "mousse" that was delivered. Everything was great!
Attended a convention for two nights. The room was fine, a little warm, and turned down the air conditioning but never really cooled off. I really don't like feather pillows and am always able to get a foam pillow at hotels. When I asked at the front desk I was told that they do not carry or have foam pillows... more
We stayed here for a convention. The King side bed and room were great. The food was delicious. We only had one room during the convention that was too hot. I would recommend for stay and convention. The hotel is close to to south side of the city with plenty of shopping nearby,
Great food, rooms and service for our recent conference. Also nice walking trails close by. Loved view looking east from 13th floor. Great food choices and even some nice shopping. Restaurants also close buy including boston pizza across street.
Some girlfriends and I stayed here on a Saturday night for a girls getaway and were pleasantly surprised. There were lots of amenities, the hotel is in a great location and the rooms and hallways are updated and clean. They obviously did an extensive renovation because this was not the old Capri Centre. The price was decent because we had... more
A brief overnight stay to attend a conference. Polite, engaging staff welcomed me at reception. Rooms were very clean and updated (since a previous stay) so no complaints on that front. Only negative was truly terrible shower pressure which is a bit annoying these days. Although my room was very quiet with no disturbance, a colleague had a room behind... more
The first week of May 2014, I attended a conference at the Sheraton. The staff was energetic and helpful at check-in. The room was spotless, and appeared to age well. The only downfall to the rooms were the bathroom fan didn't work,so having a shower resulted in a humid experience throughout. Also, the furnace heater was a bit noisy when... more
I have stayed here a number of times for conferences over the years and it seems they are finally getting this place where it needs to be. It was known as the Capri for many years and I think they relied on the conference, restaurant and bar to keep the people coming back. The rooms always seemed to be dated... more
I stay at this hotel every two weeks, and what brings me back is the friendly staff. They remember who I am. I am treated like I am FAMILY. I love love the beds and the pillows. Was here with my family during a conference at the end of April. First of all, the hotel rooms are old even though they have done some renovations. Bathrooms are very small. Not sure why Sheraton bought this property?

We held our Internation Convention at the hotel from May6-8/14. I am normally very picky but I must say that there was nothing that I would change. Thanks for the being excellent in your service to us.
Overall was a pretty good stay. Some nights were loud but nothing too wild. Food selection in club lounge could certainly be improved upon. Found myself going down to eat breakfast at the restaurant to get better food.
I'd certainly recommend this hotel - great location if you're coming from southern Alberta as well. Front desk staff were fantastic. I...

We are never disappointed when we stay at Sheraton! The best service in all areas of the hotel. We find the most comfortable beds and high class linens. The hotel is always high end and decorated with elegance and beautiful decorations. LOVE the Sheraton!!
Five + stars!
We had another great stay at the Sheraton Red Deer. The staff is very efficient and friendly, the rooms are really comfortable, clean, up to date and decorated very nice. We stayed in the Club Rooms, and really enjoyed the 5 o'clock appetizers and drinks with friends, as well as breakfast one morning. The food at the convention as well... more
Best shower experience I have ever had in a hotel! Very nice, comfy bed. TV took some studying to operate. My biggest and only complaint was the view from room 146. Can I upload a picture here? It looked like I was looking at a dog run that was filled with garbage. My best advice: close the drapes!
Booked a room for our anniversary, as this was the hotel we stayed at after our wedding. I was underwhelmed; aesthetically pleasing, but our room was directly below the Club lounge on the 9th floor, which proved to be loud. In addition, I showered in the evening and it took a solid 10 minutes for the water to get hot.... more
I stay at this property many times each year, and as a lifetime Platinum member, they always treat me (and my groups when applicable) extremely well. Very nice hotel, great fitness area (best I have ever used in a hotel - and I travel a lot) - was very quiet, room was modern and clean. Wireless worked well and bed was very comfortable, only negative was the water-saver on the shower head which held back too much water.
I recently stayed at the Sheraton Red Deer and was pleasantly surprised by all facets of the property. The agent at check in was personable, professional, welcoming and efficient. Stayed 2 nights on March 14th & 15th. Overall nice place, comfy beds, clean room.
