We stayed in Chilliwack a few days and decided to try some chinese food. Because Canton Garden was just across of our motel we ordered some food for dinner. The best Chinese food cooked healthy and quality

You can always go to a Chinese Restaurant that offers buffet.and eat a lot...but, if you want quality food, excellent taste and fair price - go to the Canton Garden Restaurant in Chilliwack! Some of the best chinese food we've had in a long time. The prawns with walnuts was especially. Service was good. The food was hot and delicious.

30 years

My family has been going to Canton for 30 years. They have great service and the food has always been great. The prices are comparable to any other restaurant. We enjoy going for family reunions or just for the great food. The portions are generous and delicious.

Great Place for a fun night

On New Years Eve, 22 of us went to the Canton Gardens for dinner. Staff were very friendly, food was fantastic, and prices were most reasonable. Restaurant was very clean, spacious and up to date. Will go there again.

Our Favorite

Canton has become our favorite place to dine out. The food is good and reasonably priced. The servers are prompt and friendly. We also appreciate the décor. Really poor dinner

Don't like such a negative review but it was incredibly bad.
The service and hostess were very good but the actual meals were horrendous.
It was like brown gravy thrown on everything.
Even the fried rice was terrible.
Can't say one good thing about the meal

Was great until they changed their chef

We frequented them all the time. One day they changed the chef and it all changed. I ordered dinner for the family and was disappointed to say the least we got beef gravy with our chicken and the soup, not the same. They had the best sweet and sour but changed the chef. Overpriced average food, mediochre atmosphere

Gave this popular place a 2nd chance after a big disappointment there several years ago. Still not impressed. Prices are a little high, food is poor to average. Everyone in our group agreed, no return visit planned, sadly. Not sure why it's so popular (?) There are several better places in Chilliwack than this!

Great food and service

Very tasty food and good quantity for cost. Convenient if you are staying at the Rainbow Motor Inn. Recommended!

Nothing Exciting

Restaurant is nice, waitress good but the food is nothing great. Small portions, rather tasteless. S&S pork was chewy and fatty

Canton

Food is very doughy and greasy. Lots of MSG. If you want good Chinese Food you go to the Capital Restaurant in town.

Good but not Excellent

We used to love the food here. The staff are good and the proprietor is most pleasant. However, the food is 'iffy'. Sometimes good, sometimes not as good. We'll give them another chance.

The restauraunt was very busy and the staff friendly and easy to deal with. Our group was impressed by how quick we were served .

My favorite chinese restaurant

I've been going to Canton Gardens for years. We find it a good place to have family parties, for birthdays or anniversaries. Most years we'll have a large family party there for one occasion or another.
On my last visit we went for lunch and ordered off the lunch specials menu. I should have subsituted something for the chow mein... more

small portions, priced high for what you get

It had been a few years since we visited this restaurant last and it appears that management or quality has changed. Noodle were unusual texture, sweet and sour port with pineapple was completely unusual; it was like a very small meatball covered in sweet sauce. All three dishes were a disappointment.

We keep going back

I've been going to the Canton Garden for years, since it was in its old location. It's not the most authentic Chinese food you'll ever have, you won't find chopsticks, the wine list is limited and the decor is right out of the mid 80's, but for Canadian style Chinese they do it pretty well. Food

Years ago Canton was pretty good. Now the food is cold, doughy, full of MSG. Just all around not good. Particularly with the Capital in town. Would never go to Canton.

Worst. Service. Ever

The people here suck. We were already having a c@!%!y day, forced to overnight in Chilliwack when our van broke down. The food was priced ok, but they charge for delivery, AND when the order arrived, quite a bit later than expected, they'd missed stuff.

Quantity over quality

This place seemed really popular with older people and was quite busy, but the food was terrible. We had to send some items back as they were cold, and everything lacked flavour and taste. It always worries me when the server comes out with huge heaps of food on the plate.
Would not return here.

It's Predictable

Have visited this restaurant on several occasions with friends who have it as their favourite Chinese food spot. I find it predictable, with average quality food and very little ambience.

Love it for take out as well as dine in.. Make great chicken chow mein and lettuce wrap and almond boneless chicken etc..:)

Canton Gardens manager is a pervert

The food really sucked, not gonna lie. But that wasn't even the reason why I'm leaving this review. When I went to pay, some little chinese guy started making derogatory comments about my body and how good it looked. I was dressed modestly, so there was no reason for it. I have loved this place since I was a kid...and even though they moved across the street the did not loose what I love about them. The service is always great, and the food excellent. Even when the place is busy (which it normally is!) the food still comes quick and hot.
