Went there on a Monday night with a friend. Everything was perfect. The food , atmosphere and service was great. I also couldn't believe how busy it was. Our waitress Sandra was awesome. I'll definitely go back and I've already recommend this place .

I've only been here for brunch. The mushroom and spinach crepe here is absolutely amazing, the white wine sauce is delicious as well. The layout of the restaurant is cozy and there is natural light spilling it which makes it quite nice. Went here for winterlicious this year.. the food was great I had fire grilled calamari, fire grilled atlantic salmon, and chocalate torte.. all of em tasted great!! I like the ambience here too. It has romantic feel to it.

Extremely pretentious and horrible! owner ignored us and through our menus on the table and didn't act like we were human beings! Owner chased me out of the restaurant because I didn't give a " reasonable Torontonian tip". The restaurant deserve the penny of which my friend gave him.

It's a half a year later and thinking about this place still irks me.

Caught in one of the summer rainstorms a friend and I stumbled into the first dry, warm and food offering establishment we found. We dripped our way to the last table available and ordered a polenta appetizer and a nicoise salad for a main.

The first time didn't impress much, had a salad and calamari for take-away - It was pricey and bland. Then my colleagues and I went to last year's summerlicious lunch and winterlicious lunch today.

I had breakfast at Cantine this Sunday with friends. Food was great and i loved the breakfast sausage. Basket with warm breads was a nice touch. I noticed that the restaurant was understaffed and it took the staff sometime to take our order but food arrived fast and was tasty.

Even though this place is not cheap is worth it to go to Cantine for breakfast.

I went to Cantine Bar and Grill with a few friends during Summerlicious last year (2011), and we vowed we would return because we loved the food so much.

Additionally, the owner was so engaging and treated us to drinks at the end of the night.

I am embarrassed to say that we didn't return as we would have liked.

Instead, we returned for Winterlicious 2012!

My last few experiences were awful and I haven't been back in 2 years. However, the ambiance is warm and the manager friendly, but that hardly matters with sub par food.

Cantine is great for brunch and lunch. For brunch the room is large and open with some great comfy chairs up near the front. The brunch is great and lunch menu is fantastic (roasted chicken tomato panini..mmmm) Its usually full because its such a good well known spot so get there early.

Cantine's brunch is fantastic. Everything from mouthwatering French toast to brilliant frittatas (basil, mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes is a personal favourite).
The atmosphere is great (think cozy sofas, wood tables, cozy lighting) and the servers are hilarious. Their freshly squeezed juice is made from the heavens, along with some good coffee.

Wow, just wow. I had dinner here on a recent business trip, and it was no less than exquisite. I opened with the roasted pear with blue cheese (lovely!) had the spaghettini with calamari for a main (my only complaint is that it was too big!), and finished the meal off with the créme brulée and a glass of port. Cantine is one of the most addictive and scrumptious brunch places I have ever encountered!
