I came across this Safeway since it was the closest to Metrotown.
This Safeway seriously needs some renovation work done! I was quite surprised of how terrible inside looked compared to other Safeway stores. White walls, white floor, white bright lights... sorry to say, but it felt like I stepped in a scene of a horror movie. Not a pleasant/welcoming feeling, I just wanted to get out of there...

I have not been inside this store but I called the meat department to ask if they had free range turkey and and he said they don't but immediately suggested alternatives and another safeway that he knows in fact has these alternatives in stock. I was pleasantly surprised as I could hear a smile in his voice as well. I find it hard to come across good service over the phone so this was very nice.
This Safeway isn't awful, just meh.

Prices are higher than other groceries stores, but when I do get a chance to visit, it's usually for their deli.

The only problem with this location is that...

The younger cashiers rarely look me in the eye or greet me, I feel invisible. It's pretty rude. The daytime cashiers (ie. the old timers) are much more sincere in their service, without being annoying or intrusive. A simple hi, how's your day, etc... Takes only a few minutes, so does friendly eye contact. If you're so shy, why then are you working in customer service?
