Ok first off we have been going here for years from the K/W area long drive to eat .
Yes the meat eaters side is great my family all love the ribs etc, changed the fries do not like as much as the old ones, but when it comes to picky non red meat eaters well you do not get much to chose from.
They used to have a good pulled bbq chicken on a bun GONE, then a lovely southern chicken sandwich,...

So... I missed Ribfest this year because of the weather and the jam packed parking lot at centennial park. Never fear... back up is here!!! Instead of going to the fest i just went and found the best!
They were runner up just last week for the best ribs at the Toronto Ribfest and they won a few different awards in the past.
So, as a good excuse to visit this really pretty river side town only...

Holy c@!p is this an amazing restaurant. Smokes meat, great service and a cool atmosphere. Always a fun place to visit.
The place has really gone downhill over the years,... the meal I had there yesterday was quite a letdown, the ribs were dry and overcooked, the little portion of beans was gluey with a congealed skin on top,....... and the lemonade I'm sure was a glass of water with two lemon halves in it,.... tasteless. The service was adequate if perfunctory,.... surprising as there was maybe three people in... more
Awesome BBQ, good service, well-priced. Probably the best local Paris restaurant.
Very good ribs will be back some day , live 40 minutes away. Staff was great ribs very good. Come one and all to ribs dinner
GREAT wait staff - cheerful, friendly, quick to help and serve.
As for the food... WOW. Ribs are at LEAST as good as the ones they turn out at all the Rib Fests! Tender, juicy, well sauced. Need more sauce? no problem slather on one of the other four at the table.
Cornbread was good, onions straws yummy. There sandwiches, equally tasty.
LOVE the actual restaurant. It's a great BBQ joint.
I was a bit disappointed after all the rave reviews. The good.....staff was friendly and service was prompt. The atmosphere is Roadhouse so you know what to expect, not fine dining. That said, it was no excuse for dirty tables and filthy, messy washrooms. On to the food.....with barbeque being their specialty, we went with their signature ribs with house dressing. I went with the St. Louis... more
First off I am not here to tell you that I know southern BBQ better then the next guy but I will tell you that my family liked their meal here. We drove from Hamilton to Camp 31 in about 35mins or so, we got there before the dinner crowd really filled up the place and it was a very... more
After a great day of rafting down the Grand River our group decided on Camp31 BBQ for our late dinner. Although it was very busy and we had to wait a while for our food, it came out piping hot and delicious. We had the chicken, all you can eat ribs, Triple Threat Burger, pulled pork sandwiches and mac and... more
Camp 31 is a great bbq stop. I've had their BBQ chicken before but at the recommendation of a friend I tried the brisket melt today. It was delicious. The bun was fresh, and topped with a generous serving of beef, bbq sauce and cheese. The meat was hot, and was tender as I expected. The fries were crispy and... more
Where do I start. I was expecting excellent barbecue. When I travel I seek out good bbq, from Texas to NC to GA to KC. If you like fall off the bone ribs (over cooked), I don't, you might like Camp 31's except they were also burned. I got the chicken with my ribs and it was dry (over cooked)... more
Surprising how many people don't know that they are buying the cheapest cut of ribs and think they are good. Come on people know what you are buying!
After a mediocre rib experience in Kitchener, I was looking forward to some ribs that were comparable to those I had in May in the Southern U.S. The ribs at Camp 31 hit the spot. They were tender and tasty. The fries were good (albeit a bit salty for my taste) and the BBQ Baked Beans were actually better than... more
Came on a Sunday at 1pm and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the backside special with Mac and cheese side along with the beans.
Deep fried pickles for starter with a nice spicy dip. They are potato slice like pieces of pickle instead of the wedges I've usually seen. Pretty tasty for deep fried pickles and I don't usually like them!
Ribs were a generous portion with a nice smokey beans and a...

Have drove by many times and this last time pulled in...It was mid afternoon..Late lunch / early dinner type thing..
To be fair the time of day was not right for the meal...

We recently went for dinner at Camp 31 on a Saturday night. There were a few people in line so we waited outside for about a 1/2 hour until we got a table. Our daughter, who has been there a few times, said she has never had to wait. Its a small place and very casual. The servers were quick... more
A regular stop when we're in Paris each year. When traveling in Alabama last year, we kept comparing southern bar-b-que restaurants and found we liked Camp 31 better. If you like bar-b-que, this is it. The only problem is the huge portions they serve - we usually share one meal between 2 people!
My wife and I brought five other friends to Camp 31 last night for the first time and it's safe to say, we won't be back. I personally have been in the business for over 20 years and this was a classic case of poor business. From the moment we pulled up and got wind of the foul smell in... more
I have been to Camp 31 number pus times. This past weekend we attended on a Friday night and I have to say I was disappointed. The menu has changed which is fine. Some new items added that sound exciting. Prices have increased, which I don't mind. But they need to work on portion sizes of their sides. The mount... more
This was our second time here! Great food! Award-winning BBQ. The restaurant decor and the honestly delicious BBQ food makes you feel like you're in the deep South USA.
We've heard that Camp 31 is supposed to be quite the award winning eating experience.
It looked promising when we arrived, as there was a line up of many people chomping at the bit just to get in. The décor at best is very basic and seems similar to what I would imagine a moon-shine shack would be in the...

Easy to drive right by and miss it. Stop by once, and you will never drive by without eating again. Great place for people who love meat.
I have read some reviews where you felt out of place when you walked in, this has been our experience before as well. The other day we went in and it did not feel like that. The food was really good and the waitress was attentive. We will still come back because the food is good but hopefully the staff... more
Great southern food. Really authentic. Ribs are awesome, smoke turkey and BBQ chicken mouth watering. Great service too.
If you enjoy wings, ribs or any barbecued type of food, you'll enjoy this place! Wings especially for us as they smoke the wings before saucing them. Atmosphere is casual.
My wife and I went for Friday night supper. I ordered the 'three meat' combo, choosing riblets, wings and pulled pork and it was delicious. Even the gravy and fries were awesome. Wife ordered a steak burger and loved it. We were both stuffed and could not have eaten another bite!
The atmosphere is really casual and makes you feel...

Absolutely the VERY BEST ribs, chicken and BBQ pork in Ontario........and it's only a couple of kilometres from home.
BONUS!
This is one of our favourite local dining spots, and one we are quick to share with others. I have never had a bad meal on the menu! Pulled pork, burgers, fried chicken, ribs... All excellent! Try the deep-fried picked as an appetizer: they are nothing like what you may have tried at other restaurants (not pre-made, flavourful using the... more

Great BBQ ribs and the fried chicken was great. Staff very friendly. Beer was awesome . We also went on a Monday night it was half priced wings and pints were $4.00, so a pound of wings and a pint of beer $9.00 awesome
went for famous ribs, we had chicken which was just as good if not better. Good food all around. We have never had a bad meal there. I like the peanut in the shell snack idea as well.
We were in the area for a hockey tournament and a nephew recommend Camp 31 Bar-B-Q. What a great meal we had! My daughter (15) declared they could cater her (future!) wedding. Now that`s a compliment from a picky eater! I had the chicken. Done just right, great flavour on the skin and tender fall off the bone meat. The... more
Delicate and saucy ribs, soft cornbread, crispy and tender fried chicken. There was no highlight of the meal at Camp 31, since it was all high quality, well-prepared and delicious.
Slow smoked prime rib on Saturdays cannot be beat. Absolutely delicious! Have been in several times and have never had a bad meal. Also, the sweet potatoe fries and brisket melt are incredible.
We (5) went there January 18; the place was packed, so we just waited at the bar, cracking open peanuts, and enjoying draft beers and the fun atmosphere around us. We were told it could be a 30 - 45 minute wait, but it seemed much less than that. Our server was great, too; considering how busy they were, our... more
I found out about camp 31 while searching for caterers for my wedding. We ate there 2x before booking the for the wedding and have been back a few times since. Food was EXCELLENT! No complaints, and priced well. Service has always been great.

This restaurant is one of the most popular in the area. The owners also participate in Rib Fests all across Onatrio every summer, and come in with Firsts most of the time!

Due to the construction of the building, it can be...

Upon recommendation, I had tried Camp 31. The décor is pretty relaxed. The server was friendly and informative. The pulled pork in the BBQ sauce was delicious. I prefer it to be sweeter, so that is why I like the BBQ sauce. The fries were seasoned okay, but for others they might be on the saltier side. So if you have to watch your sodium content, then this is not the right choice for you.
At the suggestion of others, we stopped by Camp 31 Bar-B-Q for lunch and were happy that we did. While not much to look at inside or out, it's what's on the plate that counts, and what we had was fantastic - chicken & ribs. The place is littered with trophies won at BBQ competitions, and I can understand how... more
My party of four went to Camp 31 on Halloween night. Three of us had the blackened catfish and one had roasted chicken. Every one loved their meals and the service was excellent ...if you like BBQ meals, give them a try..we usually visit twice a year
Really great ribs, fried chicken was great too, and the baked beans are amazing. Liked the restaurant atmosphere and service, have been twice and going back again next month.
After a leisurely drive in the country we dropped by for lunch.
Funky bar and some of the best ribs ever, really loved the St. Louis style ribs.
Took some brisket home and made sandwiches the next day, awesome.
First off, I was staying at the Davidson Motel across the road from Camp 31 Bar-B-Q and the smell was FANTASTIC!!

Highlight was a half-rack of baby backs which were nicely smoked, retaining just a bit of bite while being tender and flavorful. This is the real thing - we ate on the side deck with the big smokers behind the place in plain view.
Smoked chicken wings and pulled pork very good if not quite as fantastic as the ribs....

We called here for dinner on our way back from Niagara after reading the TA reviews and were not disappointed. It was excellent value and we all enjoyed what we had. The pulled pork was really good and the draft beer was great too. The service was faultless. All round success - thanks!
One good reason to visit Paris, Ontario!
Fabulous BBQ ribs, nice and effective service, nice place.... and fabulous ribs (again!) with the meat falling off the bones (as good as in ribfests, where Camp 31 usually has a booth).
I was at Camp 31 just outside of Paris Ontario, and i have to say that they are the best ribs that i have had in a long time kinda like the smoke flavour it reminds me of the states. They have won alot of awards. And the burgers are great too in fact everything that i have had there has... more
My first time at Camp 31, as it was busy I sat at the bar. Wasn't sure about the draft they had so the waitress was kind enough to give me a sample. Not to my taste so I stuck to a bottle of my favourite.

Ribs were yummy and cooked to perfection. This is a good alternative to the cafes in town if you want a more informal "bar" type of atmosphere. Loved the peanuts in the shell!
We had been thinking of going for lunch for the longest time. We are so glad we went!!

One pulled pork sandwich, special of the day with cheese and coleslaw was awesomely gooey...

Service sucked - food was bland, dry and obviously reheated rather than fresh smoked. The best thing in the whole place was the salted peanuts - and you don't get those anymore unless you go to the bar and help yourself.
The place is unassuming from the outside but the food is worthy of one of those "diners, drive-ins and dives" shows. Plaques on the front list wins in various bbq competitions. Inside awaits the usual list of bbq suspects, as well as bottles of sauce (4 or 5 kinds) for sale.
The portions are large. My wife and I routinely...

Great food - great takeout BBQ. Service in the restaurant is spotty, at best. Been there for eat in a few times - service has been slow and inattentive. But the food is great. Anytime needing a weeknight BBQ fix or take out - this a great place.
a hidden gem!
this restaurant is located in.. lets be frank, middle of no-where. i only stumbled upon it while driving on the 401 and starving on a friday afternoon. the restaurant was filled with happy campers when i walked in and the ribs here were just... juicy like you wouldn't believe!

I never been to the restaurant itself in Paris, ON, but the ribs I tried during one of my ribfest encounter seems to be A-OK. Not too fatty but tender enough, but it does need to have a little more BBQ sauce.

Great food not too far from Toronto. Come when it is busiest at dinner time for the best ribs. Pulled pork is also a favorite! Service isn't always the best, but you don't come here for the hospitality! You come for the awesome southern BBQ!
Was in town for business and saw the good reviews on Yelp, so we gave the place a shot.
We all got ribs. They have Baby Back (ribs on the top of the pig; smaller but more tender) and St Louis Style Ribs (side ribs; larger but a bit more fat). Both styles were very good, and the sauces (5 house styles) and sides were great. I'm giving 4 stars because, while the ribs were good, I've had better...

I discovered Camp 31 at the ribfest in Pickering this summer, I randomly picked out two of the vender's there which i thought looked like the had good ribs and Camp 31 was on of them.
