I went on a stint in my final year at Queen's to find the best pad thai in Kingston. I tried about 6 different Thai restaurants and Cambodiana emerged with an effortless victory. Just the right amount of sauciness, sourness and saltiness combined with a massive portion made this meal a real gem. Went a handful of times and returned... more
Okay, I love the food but it does not love me, every time I eat here no matter what I order I get the trots? However, none of co-worker ever have a problem so if you don't have a baby tummy like me then I think you'll like. Just remember cash or debit only NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.
I have eaten there many times, although have to admit, most of the time I ordered one of their soups. The place is great for take out since they only have a few tables.
This restaurant never disappoints. The service is great. Your meal is served quickly with little fuss. The dishes are of great value. This is not a fancy restaurant but the food is always excellent. When you sit down you immediately get ice water and tea with your menu. You place your order and are served a hot steaming dish within... more
This place is beside my office other wise I wouldnt eat it.. not because of the taste or anything I've honestly yet to be disappointed by it.. But they do not offer ANYTHING MSG free.. Which is a big pet peeve for me as its a growing allergy among society.. I enjoy the taste of the food as I have... more
Love this restaurant!!! So missing it now that we don't live in Kingston anymore - my hubby loves the pad thai & I love the spicy sweet potato soup
We went with another couple who had been to the restaurant several times. It is a very small restaurant and it was a cold evening. The restaurant was also cold. The service was very good. The waitress was helpful and attentive. It was my first time eating Cambodian food and it was good but not anything special. It was was... more
Just off of Princess street is this little gem. Food was excellent (had a big bowl of spicy and hot soup, crispy spring rolls, and tea of course). Service was just excellent. Very cozy. Highly recommend!!
I don't know why, but Kingston has a large number of Viet/Thai/Cambodian restaurants, all of them quite good. With only one or two exceptions, they offer authentic food and very reasonable prices. Even with such an amazing assortment of restaurants to choose from (incl. Cambodian Village, Phnom Penh, Wok-In, Saigon Delights, Golden Viet Thai, Mekong, etc), when I go to... more
While Kingston has a relatively large number of Thai/Cambodian restaurants, none of them deliver the true authentic taste of the regions food like Pat's can. The Phanaendg Kai (chicken or shrimp with a red curry sauce) is deliciously sweet and spicy and comes in a very generous portion. Other interesting menu items include the ubiquitous Pad Thai as well as... more
Love this place. Number 1 or 29 are my favourites. Fast, affordable and delicious. I wish they took VISA though .
Not our favourite Cambodian restaurant (we like CV, especially for take out), but nicer for a sit down option.
When this place first opened it had fantastic service and food made to order that was hot and delicious. Now however it seems to mostly premade and warmed up once ordered with significantly lower quality and smaller portions. This I discovered is because it is no longer being run by the same person. If you long for the "old Cambodiana"... more
Great food for a great price. However, celiacs proceed with caution. While the staff was knowledgeable about gluten-free food, I felt a little bit sick after the meal. They gave me a gluten-free meal (and knew EXACTLY what I could have), but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some cross-contamination in the kitchen. But, even though I got a... more
We enjoyed Cambodiana last year but returned to find that the prices do not reflect the online menu, the staff, limited as it is to 2 people more interested in chatting than being of service, is useless and the food is nothing but warmed-up rice with few vegetables and two, repeat 'two', limp shrimp for $10.
They lost their liquor...

I have been going to Cambodiana for about six years now, and in the last year or so I have noticed a steady decline in the quality of the food and service. The prices have also gone up 15-20%.
I was prompted to write this review after picking up a take-out order tonight (#19, Red Curry Tofu). There was almost...

We were recommended this place by a friend and she did not lead us wrong.
The food was cooked with with fresh chillies and herbs, and we were given generous portions for a good price.
One person in our group like their food, I found my food to be extremely spicey and not very tasty. We had spring rolls to start and they were hard and old. The food seemed fresh and the place was busy. The service was good. I did notice though that the place was not as clean as it should be.... more
Just the way I like it (for lunch).
Bit of a cafeteria atmosphere.
Not much for kids who are not spicey eaters or will eat plain rice.
Tiny little restaurant, but that's part of it's charm. The food is plentiful and very tasty (the curries are all great) and fast. The employees are friendly and proficient.
As a student, this is one of the best places you will find in Kingston.
Prices are reasonable. The food is always tasty. Quantity is sufficient to excessive (always a good thing). You can have a good dinner here for $10-$15.
It isn't fancy and the restaurant itself is small but it's a great place to eat good food on...

Better in the past...new management recently
This is the tastiest little nook you will find in Kingston. In fact, I have yet to find a Cambodian/Thai restaurant to match it - it is the standard to which we compare all others. The red curry shrimp and/or chicken dishes are our favorite.
The food is very cheap, but all of the ingredients are fresh and the curry...
