Okay, it's not the tallest building anymore, but it's still a great view of downtown and the top rotates which is really neat.
I've lived in Calgary for 27 years and know so many people my age that haven't even eaten at the Calgary Tower! It's a rotating restaurant in Calgary's landmark building, they serve very good food in a nice fine dining atmosphere where they really cater to the customer. Great Alberta beef and food variety, friendly wait staff, an observation deck, and oh, did I forget to mention that the restaurant rotates around as you eat!
Reaching 762 steps or 191m (626 ft.) into the sky, this enduringly touristy landmark was once far and away the tallest structure in the city. Dwarfed now by the ever-climbing office towers of this bustling oil-driven metropolis, this tower still offers brilliant views from its observation terrace, from which you can take in the city, the mountains, and prairies beyond. The elevator whisks you... more
Nice location. Ok view. Food took way too long. Medium rare steak was medium well!!
Meh...Over-priced food that is otherwise commonplace..that and the fact that it is a favorite of ecoactivists (AKA their security sucks(
Nice view. Good menu. They provided a tiny slice of cake for someone who was having a birthday and then CHARGED US for this "gift" $8. WTF?
If you're been on the CN tower, don't expect the same thing. The food is actually pretty good, and definitely worth going up to have dinner once a year. Reasonable prices.
Good food, but you are basically paying for the view. Which is probably worth it.
Ambience is great, food & service are good but not great. Overall value is not there.
Venue are too old needs some renovation!foods are fair but not excellent.site are accessable views overlooking city are good thou... more
Fantastic view. It is a place to see must with your family.
I think its time we get a taller tower... many buildings are becoming taller then the tower.
good experience. like the glass floor additions. had eggs benedic at Sky 360. little stingy on the Holandaise that was quite bland but the rest of meal was good
This was a very wonderful place to have our anniversary dinner.
Its nice, but once you've seen it once, you don't need to waste the money to see it again. What ever happened to the plans to extend the tower so it actually is the tallest building in Calgary again?
The Calgary Tower is nice, especially the glass floor. However I will say that, aesthetically speaking, it doesn't hold a candle to the Space Needle in Seattle, WA. Even if you've never been to the Needle, just look at pictures, day or night ones, and you'll see what I mean. The Calgary tower sort of looks like a prison lookout tower but still it does offer a nice view.
You will be disappointed. Come on. You would have to have your head checked to eat in a revolving tower as a gimmick, couldn't you find anything better to do other than eat. Maybe they should turn this into a dog walk facility. Yah.. that's the ticket.
Most observation towers/wheels/etc are worth the trip just for the different perspectives they give and the Calgary Tower is no exception. I went at night (thanks to my employer holding the office Christmas party there!) and dinner above the expanse of Calgary lights was beautiful. And the glass floor is quite a psychological trip - stepping out on it is eerie, even for those who love... more
For a different perspective of Calgary, go up to the Calgary Tower and enjoy views of downtown Calgary and the Rockies far in the horizon. I had never been up to the tower in all my years of living in this city until now, but it is definitely worth the trip.
I enjoyed this attraction. It was one of the most enjoyable things I did on my trip.I liked the beautiful veiw of the mountains and the rotating resteraunt was very nice aswell. This was well worth my money.
We went up to have dinner and see the view at night-definitely worth the price and the food was great! I don't think I would have gone up during the day or just for the view. I really, really like the glass floor-it took both of us some time to get the courage to go out on it!
This is a great spot to see the city.
Calgary Tower is very overated. I guess its more of a symbol of Calgary rather than an actual attraction.
Although some of downtown Calgary's office towers are actually taller, the Calgary Tower remains the city's most distinctive landmark. Officially opened in 1968, it remains a popular visitor attraction, providing a panoramic view of the mountains to the west and the surrounding foothills and prairie. On the observation deck there is access to binoculars, multimedia information kiosks and the... more
