This restaurant is a long time standout in Vancouver for Italian cuisine and wine. The service is great and the staff are accustomed to serving the lunch time business crowds who expect great food in a quick fashion. Veal is always good and so is the beef carpaccio. Go for creme brulee for dessert.
Good service, good food, would go there again :) Just stopped in on a whim, glad we did! Value was okay too.
Loved the appetizers, enjoyed the service, was not impressed by the entres at all. Would go again just for the appetizers.
Kind of expensive, but some of the best food I've had while dining out. No complaints.
There's no follow through on the pretentious decor and pseudo-oldie-worldie look with the grub here, which is direly ho-hum. Service is impeccable, and prices are OK for downtown, but this place has a dated, touristy feel. It's neither really good nor really bad, and ought to try a lot harder. The patio is a scrummy oasis in Robson Dori's ruff-and-tumble, but this isn't a place to make a detour... more
Very bad dine-out experience
Best spinach salad in Vancouver.
Food was superb. Best carpaccio...and duck that was done with figs in a cherry sauce to die for. Great wine list and wonderful selection of by the glass wines.
Excellent meal with very attentive service. They made it very easy for us to share our meal with our 8 year-old daughter, something other places have occasionally frowned upon. They served us a tasty little fig treat "compliments of the chef" between our appetizer and main course - these details go a long way to making a meal special. The patio was very nice and quiet, a surprise given that... more
Our cost included wine, however excluding wine the cost was $ 70. Service was much better than expected due to its location off Robson. Service was excellent and at the same time respectful. Food was very good in different categories. The risotto was also quite good as well as the rack of lamb although these were not recommended by the waiter.
I agree with the previous review -- exceptional service, very good food. I wouldn't really call the restaurant's area a strip mall -- but it is kind of tucked away off Robson Street in an alcove with a few different restaurants. The Robson area is most definitely a commercial area (it is known for shopping), but there are several good places to eat sprinkled throughout the bustle of tourist... more
Service was exceptionally good --- helpful but non-intrusive. The food was well executed and traditional though not particularly inspired. The full vegetarian menu was particularly appreciated. Decor was very nice, though it's placement in a strip mall was a bit odd. The outdoor seating was enjoyable.
Convenient to a couple of our favorite downtown hotels. Dependable, relaxing experience
Good, hearty Italian food served inin Liberace's version of an Italian Restaurant.
You're paying their rent on Robson if located somewhere else the costs would way less. Almost not worth it. Caffe de Medici seen better days in the 80's.
Established in 1980, this Robson Street cafe gained notoriety for its Northern Italian cuisine and traditional feel. It underwent a face-lift several years ago. Retaining its original charm, it remains one of the city\'s most popular social spots. The room, lined with greenery and detailed wall art, exudes warmth and elegance. Many young area residents frequent it. The Florentine menu lists... more
