I choose this cafe for my every morning coffee because the delicacy of the coffee flavor. the atmosphere is so close to human and pleasant. the peace of this place creates the best chance for the customer to have a good time for relaxation!
Dined here again while on business. Very convenient location from my hotel (Holiday Inn). Plentiful portions, good food, reasonable prices. An enjoyable meal (again!).
it seems not many people go for this restaurant as I was the only customer. The waiter was friendly but seemed inexperience, the decor is OK but not too appealing, with old pictures of Italian sites. The calamari were good, but the Caesar salad horrible and bitter. Interesting attempt of putting together a salmon fillet and a balsamic reduction, honestly... more
This restaurant was located in the hotel, Cartier Place, that were staying at, which is 2 blocks from the Rideau Canal and Wiinterlude. The food was superb. For lunch, I had the manicotti, hubby had veal and our guest had the gnocchi with broccoli. For supper I had the minestrone soup and bruschetta and hubby had the chicken special stuffed... more
We were staying at the Cartier Place Suites hotel and front desk staff advised us that Cafe Mezzaluna was a fabulous restaurant without having to go out in the -25 weather. The restaurant was almost empty when we were there and yet the service was terrible. The mussels and potato leek soup were okay, nothing special. The Ceaser salad was... more
This quiet restaurant is in the same building as the Cartier Place Suites hotel. It's very quiet, which is pleasant, but the food (I had breakfast) was marginal and served by a very surly waitress. Drinks the night before were ok though the beer selection is very limited. Other than convenience to the Cartier Place hotel, not much to recommend... more
I enjoyed a coupe of business lunches here, both inside, but they also have a small but nice patio. I tried the cod filet and one of their veal pates on the other occasion. Both were excellent although I found the vegetable toppings to be a little on the greasy side for the cod dish. The interior atmosphere provides some privacy... more
Stayed at hotel due to missed flight. Ate at sidewalk cafe on Saturday nite. I have veal Marsala served with sautéed veggies good salad and garlic bread. Had local organic beer. Food was cooked very well and of Hugh quality - no iceberg lettuce. Atmosphere was very festive Reminded me of a recent trip to Paris. A god choice. It... more
We were attending a show at the Arts Centre, and this Italian restaurant is just a short walk away, plus you get free underground parking! The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food was fabulous. The specials were very good (stuffed chicken, veal or halibut), and the regular pasta fare well cooked and extremely... more
After a cold reception leading us to our table, the waitress told our breakfast order not asking how the eggs should be done, or what kind of toast we want. Breakfast came and the toast was burned. Like black burned. We called the waitress back to send back the toast and all she said was "Oh!" and took the toast... more
We ended up at Cafe Mezzaluna quite by accident after a flight cancellation landed us at the Cartier Place Hotel. We were weary and hungry and found the staff a refreshing change in an otherwise awful day. We arrived about a half hour before closing and staff were only too understanding of our plight and not a hint of disappointment... more
Ate breakfast there on my last day at the hotel. The Western omlette was the best I've ever had. While I didn't eat them, the home fries were not looking so good.
We arrived at the Cartier Place Suite Hotel around dinner time. As we had been traveling for over 6 hours no one was in the mood to search for a place to eat. So we decided to try the Cafe. We ended up ordering a family meal of spaghetti, meat sauce, garlic bread, and garden salad for around $30. Son... more
After a very disappointing experience at another Italian restaurant on Cooper Street I decided to give it another shot, I was staying at the Cartier Place Hotel after all. I must say this was an excellent experience, the service was prompt, friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. I recommend the veal parmagiana. Elegant plating, simple flavors, this is... more
Cafe Mezzaluna makes real cuisine from Italy with flavours to die for. If you’ve traveled to Italy, their dishes will bring back memories of your travels. And if you've never been to Italy, you will definitely experience Italy at its best. I've been eating there for many years and it has always been my favourite Italian restaurant as the high... more
You have to try this place, great food, big portions, service is always great. Try their pasta dishes, Gnocchi Alfredo or Tortellini Carbonara, or any of their weekly fish and veal or pork specials. If you may not finish it all, you get this amazing salad and garlic bread included with your meal, you can't stop yourself from having it... more
Over the years, we have enjoyed dining here, either inside or on the patio. Try the braised lamb shank-excellent. While not particularly innovative, Cafe Mezzaluna is a quiet oasis with better-than-average fare.
Great place for lunch: good food - especially if you like garlic! - attentive service, very reasonable prices.
I simply love to go to cafes in Ottawa. I've been to this cafe and it's really good. In all honesty though, I love every single cafe for it's unique atmosphere and awesome service.
Not sure about the prices as I didn't pay. Ordered the calamari for appetizers and it was perfect. Mostly Italien cuisine on the menu and the food was good although the service was a little slow. Would go back again.
This little restaurant, located below the Cartier Place Hotel, has all the signs of a classic Italian bistro, from checkered green tablecloths to photos and paintings of the Italian coast. The comfortable dark oak feel, large bar, street-side patio and homemade gelato help make the restaurant appealing to local businesspeople and families, as well as hotel patrons.
