Great coffee and excellent pastry offerings. There is a funky book store section but I was too busy to scope out.
The good service and food are really enhanced by the cool bookstore downstairs and the totally awesome and amazing local craft store upstairs. A one of a kind shop - don't miss it on your trip to Port Hardy.
This charming coffee house not only has a great variety of treats and drinks for every palate, but there is also a book store and upstairs you will find a treasure trove of North Coast art all handmade by local artists.
The coffee and sandwiches are lovely. Having wifi is a nice feature and being able to shop for new and used books is also a great feature. They had all of the Canada Reads novels on display last time I was there.
Plan to spend more time there as there is also an art gallery and crafts shop upstairs.

This coffee shop is the central hang-out in Port Hardy where you can not only get a great cup of coffee and some of the best scones that I've ever tasted, but you can also pop upstairs to the local gallery, which is filled with many of the local artists works. In addition to that, the Café is home to... more
Very simple cafe but everything cooked fresh. Neat tasty ingredients. Make their own ingredients. About 30 flavors for Italian soda. A gem in a small remote town
I wound up with only enough time to get a go-coffee (great latte)...with regret! It was warm and cozy, the food smelled wonderful, there were local arts and crafts to browse, and a new/used bookstore inside as well - !!! Definitely will come back to hang out!
Best coffee in town. Great home-made cakes, sandwiches and soups - to eat in or take out. Convenient high street location.
Excellent coffee, average rating of the food, a lovely bookstore on the floor below and local handcrafted arts of all types upstairs. Recommend if you are in Port Hardy and looking for a decent place to go for food - this is the one.
This place is a real gem, in a surprising location. It doesn't draw you in from the outside, but the inside is really great. The coffee shop is on the main floor. On the lower level is an excellent and very quaint book shop, that is cozy and comfortable. Above the coffee shop is an artists / craft area with... more
We enjoyed our coffee but especially the wonderful gallery of excellent quality crafts and gifts upstairs where I browsed for ages. The basement also houses a very good book shop with something for everyone. A real breath of fresh air for this dedicated shopper, with good coffee and refreshments as well.
Great coffee, great sandwiches, great service. Worth a detour.
This coffee shop / book store is an excellent antidote to the sameness of popular brand establishments and a welcome find at the top end of Vancouver Island.
This is the one place you Must go if you are in Port Hardy. The people were sooooo nice and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Don't miss the upstairs shop... very nice, local artist made goods. pottery, jewelry, baby items, just a gem in this small town.
Excellent coffees and drinks, nice food options - great spot for breakfast, lunch or to just hang out with coffee and a book. Has attached bookstore at back and great craft/gift shop upstairs - don't miss that - best and most extensive selection in town but you need to know its there or can easily miss it.
Fantastic scones, really good coffee, great bookstore and respectable representation of local artisans. In a small centre like Port Hardy you need to be resourceful to make a go of it. Guido's is doing the best of making the best. They even have laptops to use at their wifi bar. Good on them.
This is my absolute favourite place to visit in Port Hardy. First for one their scrumptious paninis & great coffee followed by a browse downstairs in the bookstore where there are new & used books and an eclectic selection of gifts. Perfect for the cooks/writers/readers on your gift list or as a treat for yourself !! Then upstairs to what's... more
Hard to find a good espresso on the road but Guido's did the trick. Need some gluten free options for breakfast but the coffee is great.
friendly, helpful and accomodating staff quirky and crafty books and gifts, free wifi and really great food and drink - the laksa soup is to die for
a real haven on a cold wet day!
What's not to love about a coffee shop/cafe attached to a community craft store AND a used book store/gift shop? I live here and I go to Guidos at least once a week, the ambience is great, always something neat to look at in the shops, good service, and the drinks and food are EXCELLENT. I have never been disappointed... more
It was a sharp well run cafe centrally located and had wonderful outside and inside seating. There was a fun gift shop with plenty of special gifts. The food was well prepared and the menu had a variety of wholesome choices.
Stopped in for a fancy coffee for the journey home. The staff are friendly and cheerful. I loved looking in the book / gift store down stairs. Along with a local artists gift store upstairs. This is definety a "gem" of a place in Port Hardy. Also, they offer bakery goodies and fresh made panni's for breakfast or lunch.
Great coffee, food, books, gifts. What a nice stop! Loved the coffee and breakfast the morning we left Port Hardy.
Clean, modern and hip....fresh and new merchandise.
For lunch or breakfast, i would recommend this cafe over any other! The staff is super accommodating and friendly, the coffee they offer is outstanding, and the variety of paninis they make are delicious! (Breakfast paninis, lunch paninis, soup, and salads they offer)
They have a really cute gift shop upstairs, and a fabulous consignment store downstairs!
Definitely a place...

Small cafe on the main street with book shop and co-op style gift shop.
A good range of lunch time food and multiple drink options (coffee, tea, smoothies).
The panini's and toasted sandwiches are good value and really tasty with some interesting combinations. They also had home-made soups and nice looking cakes.
Very cosy, great treats and great hot drinks. Bookstore and Crafts store above and below, well worth a look.
very pleased with my hot chocolate and scone on a cold winter day!
Fantastic coffee. Great cold drinks too! Awesome grilled sandwiches! An allround wonderful place: not to be missed!
Best cappucino sofar since travelling from Calgary, loved the Sienna sandwich. Real tasty !
A great find - comfy sofas, cute gifts, friendly service, good coffee, food & free WiFi. Call in and stay a while . . .
They have great coffee, we visited every day during our stay. The service is good. They make homemady style soups and bakegoods every day which were very tasty. Extra service is internett access and wifi.
I often make a special trip to Port Hardy to visit Cafe Guido. This time I had a panini on sourdough with chicken, peach chutney & cheese. It was heavenly !! Their coffee is strong, hot & delicious. I added a shake of cinnamon & a bit of cocoa. They have a great menu of paninis & special coffees/teas. Too... more
We stopped by Guido's for lunch while in town as tourists. This place has a cool vibe with a shop downstairs and art store upstairs. We had sandwiches and scones for lunch. The sandwiches were gourmet and delicious.
As for the scones... My husband is a huge fan of scones and thought Guido's were fantastic (likely the best he's ever...
