LEs moules et frites a volonté sont des soirées superbe entre amis. à recommendez.
Living in Hull nearly all my life and I had never been to Café Cognac so finally with all the media promoting their anniversary year, I said to myself let's go...
Do not get me wrong as this is not a bad place, the food and the service is very good, it is just that it needs to be freshened...

We used to go there for weekend breakfasts/brunches and were always pleased. It was the common place to go with family and friends. Last week, my wife and I were thinking of a midweek breakfast and decide that Café Cognac would be a great idea...although, all we wanted were bacon, eggs and toast. As we arrived, a person who carried... plus
We used to be frequent regular customers and notice a significant change in the quality of food then we stopped going and decided to give it another try. This time I think it was the worst I've seen.. I'm only assuming since our breakfast came to our table over 35 min after taking the order, the eggs were probably sitting... plus
This place used to have charm for romantic dinners. My wife and I used to come here a few years ago for a nice one on one dinner.. it had a romantic ambiance with low lighting and nice menu. Unfortunately for us, we had reserved for valentines day 2014 and once inside, we looked at the place and decided that... plus
Best Eggs Benedict in Town
Potatoes, bread everything was good.
However, staff were really busy and so not really attentive to our needs. Took 30 minutes to give our order
At least, food was excellent!
I've been going there with friends on Sundays and have never been deceived. Nothing out of the ordinary but everything is very tasty. Employees have always been friendly and attentive even when it is extremely busy. The owner has always been present and working on Sunday's brunch. In the summer there is a terrasse at the back. The only con... plus
My husband & I have always enjoyed coming to this restaurant, even when busy & the wait long, we never complained as we enjoyed the food and the pleasant staff. Unfortunately, last Monday was a disaster. Being a holiday, the place was packed but no one to seat or serve you. Cannot blame the 2-3 young ladies working like crazy... plus
It was a good thing we had a Tuango coupon to use because thier food was not worth the price they charge. If this restaurant is meant to be a on the higher end of dining then they have some work to do. We showed up dressed for the occasion and walked into a 'diner' !! The decor needs serious... plus
Four of us (2 couples) decided to try Cafe Cognac out based on the reviews on TA for dinner on Saturday evening. We were promptly greeted and seated by a very pleasant lovely young server. She gave us our menus and was patient and friendly while we hemmed and hawed over our choices! : )
Our friend had the Table...

There were 9 of us and a child and we all enjoyed what we ordered. 5 of us had muscles and fries, they have 13 or 14 different sauces for the muscles. The side orders/entrees were great as well. Calimar to salads to escargots. all in all the service was great and I would recommend this on a thursday eveing... plus
From the moment I enter the restaurant to the moment I leave, everything is always excellent. I've been to Café cognac for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I'm always impressed with the great service, the constantly good fresh food and the reasonable price. It's my new "go to" restaurant for all occasions.
It was our girls night out,all 18 of us raging from 37 to 87 years old. It was suggested that we have a Table d'Hôte that I had the privilege of choosing for our group. Choices were chicken, salmon and pasta. Two ladies of our group were able to choose from à la carte menu.
The service was excellent and...

We often brunch here, eggs benedict is what we fancy most because the sauce is fresh and home made, not that powdered stuff...No no no....Staff is superb and the owner is prety much always on hand.
The title could have been "long wait for cold food". We went for dinner as a group of 8. It took at least 20 minutes before the server took orders for drinks. I ordered a bottle of white wine which was served without a chiller and too warm by the time we received our main plate. The service was very... plus
Amazing place for a Sunday brunch. Extensive menu at affordable prices. Food was excellent, as well as the service. There is a parking place for clients, so you can enjoy the brunch without worries.
A very good place to have a conversation in the morning. The menu is attractive: many types of eggs, pancakes, omelets. The service is A-1: speedy, discrete and full of attention. I will return for sure.
Been there before. today potato and zucchini cream was starchy and bland. Fries and croque madame were soft and almost cold. service was weird. Female server would bring the main dish while my friend was still eating his soup. she made a weird comment: ok! take your last spoonful. not going back for a while. maybe never. other restaurants in region that are much better.
We went today for breakfast and 4 people had four different breakfast. One a fruit cup, one Eggs and Bacon, another Omlette with swiss cheese and the last a Western Omlette. The place was very clean, service was very good and the food was great not lacking anything and it was not greasy.
We have been going to Café Cognac on a regular basis for about 7 years now, either for brunch, lunch or supper. The terrace is nice in summer and the food is great every time. The staff is always ready to help my handicap spouse (in a wheelchair) and I reach our table. There is a handicap parking space, a... plus
Une soirée entre amis de moules et frites. Quel délice! On a passé une super belle soirée et le service était impeccable. Les prix sont franchement très correctes. On était 6 personnes et tout le monde à bien apprécié.
I went to eat at the Café Cognac for the first time in July 2012. I had ordered pasta. What a disappointment! They literally bathed in oil (poor quality on top of it). After a few bites, they froze because after a few moments, they became cold. I was unable to finish my meal. Yesterday, (24 September 2012), we were invited as well as fifty people to eat there again. Again, what a... plus
Went for a Sunday brunch because some people we knew had heard good things about it. Fifteen to twenty minute wait didn't seem like that long which was a change from the restaurants that tell you fifteen and take thirty.
Basic but nice breakfast menu. Two of us ordered Benedicts, two the omelettes. I must admit I was eyeing my...

We entertained our guests from the Niagara region. As international travelers, they only appreciate fine dining. I researched various restaurants and Cafe Cognac's website showed promise. We arrived as a group of five and were immediately impressed with the bright spartan dining area with beautiful art works by artists displayed on the walls. They provided a great ambiance to this hidden gem...

Go almost every sunday morning, never have to wait very long even when there is a lot of people, everyone is friendly and make sure that they take very good care of you. Service is great and quick!!
Even if its Easter Sunday, we managed to get a table for 4 in no time as most reservations were for noon. As usual the food was good and accompanied with a smile.
Kind of ordinary, could use a sprucing up of the decor, and menu.
Was a better restaurant several years ago, gone a bit downhill...

I go about 5 or 6 Times a year. The food is consistent and the service is good! They make great burgers and nice array of soups. Try the place I am sure u will enjoy it.
I went to Le Café Cognac at lunch time and was greeted by the owner as I entered the restaurant: very welcoming and polite. i ordered a light meal: "Velouté de Carottes" (Cream of Carrot) and a Ceasar Salad with chicken. The soup was excellent, very tasty and served just at the right temperature. The salad was fresh and crisp,... plus

Went to Cafe Cognac on February 26th, 2011 for breakfast. Food was good and the service was complimentary. Some renovations have taken place and its starting to look cozier. The ambiance was pleasurable. Prices are great!
I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, with families as well.
Keep up the good work! "E"

My friends and I went for dinner on a Thursday night. At first we ordered some drinks and one of us ordered a beer. The server came back and said they didnt have the beer. We went for supper Saturday night (Oct 2008) after reading the positive reviews. The place was very noisy, they have the worst home wine ever, the food was mediocre and the price tag was the same as any good restaurant in Ottawa. There were mistakes on the bill as well as we were overcharged, though that is quite common in... plus
This is a nice, not too expensive restaurant with pretty good food and service. Definitely a nice place for a good meal without breaking the bank.
They have fantastic all you can eat Moules et Frites every Thursday evening for around $15, they have around 20 kinds of sauce for the Mussels. On weekends, they serve a great breakfast and very cheap!
Best breakfast in the NCA!
