Take a trip back to the 1980s at Caesar's Steak House. The decor is interesting here, with red everywhere, but the food is good. They cook their steaks in some unique way that's really delicious.
After 30 years of frequenting Caesar's for steaks at noon with by buds in the awl bidness, it's still the place to go. The Caesar's Special (New York striploin with their special sauce is still the BEST) and the only real rival to this old boys' place is the new Keg at the Westin. Take your clients there for lunch ... you can't go wrong!
i have been coming to Caesar's every once 'n a while for many years, for business or pleasure. There's something that draws me back, perhaps their incredible cuts of meat, but the whole idea of the place has gone stale. They need an update.
I'm sure the interior of this place hasn't changed since it opened, but that's one thing that makes it so great. It's such a classic feeling steak house, with incredible food. Steaks always cooked properly, and lots of choices of cuts and sizes. Expect to pay quite a lot though.
I visited Caesars while in Calgary for business, based on a recommendation from a local. Dinner was good. You get bread with soup, which was great. The salad was nothing special. But, the steak was very good! The waiter was very nice and attentive. It was a good choice to experience a good local dining experience.
Caesar's has been the"go to" place for a great steak in Calgary forever. I don't think anything about Caesar"s steakhouse has changed since the beginning either. But when something is this great why make changes -dated can be good- they are definitely doing things right to be around for so long & still everything remaining the original. Even the prices... more
While the cheese bread has always been excellent, the steaks have not. It seems as though every time I order a teak and ask for medium well it comes to me rare. This has happened on many occasions. For the price paid I would recommend passing on lunch here.
This place was probably once The place but in my opinion those days are long gone. Faded decor and an old style menu.
Good service with a smile and excellent steak but the surroundings are somber. There was no buzz. Or theatre about it.
Would not go back.
Overall, the decor is dated, but really reminds me of a longstanding neighborhood gem. The service is impeccable, the food is fantastic, and the price is reasonable considering every entree comes with bread, soup, and salad. We would definitely return.
The best steak in Canada! Very tasty all around salmon was as good as the steaks. We ate here for both lunch and dinner. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful! As for the review that suggested an update in decor... No way, there is a nice roman atmosphere! We came, we saw, we ate steak... It was... more
Dispute Ceasars renovations it has had its day. Five of us went to celebrate a birthday and unfortunately it was less than a celebration. We all remembered Ceasars for its great food and impeccable service but it seems those days are gone. The scampi was mushy and overly salty, one steak was sent back as it was ordered medium rare... more
We had the absolute BEST steak here last weekend. We went with the Chateaubriand and wow was it fantastic!!! However we found the restaurant dated and loud. Ambiance sucked...but the food/service made up for it as it is not a cheap place to eat.
Stay away if you have high blood pressure. While the ambiance is dated, the staff were very attentive. Watching the "chef" that was preparing steaks on the brazier, he looked more like the fry-guy at McDonalds - absolutely loaded every steak with salt. Make sure that you request low sodium steak if you go there. There are many better choices... more
They haven't updated anything in this place for decades and the wear is showing. The restaurant was noisy, the service was slow and terrible and the food was mediocre at best. We were there on a Monday evening, typically not a busy night. I couldn't tell if we had two waiters or if we had one in training and another... more
While caesar's is the home of the drink by the same name I didn't really expect something roman themed. Had a filet steak, medium, it was huge (ordered the small portion) however I felt it would have been much better tasting with proper ageing. Did not offer any sauce, mustard or horseradish for a steakhouse I expect this stuff to... more
My company had a Christmas party here in the upstairs room. The space fit the 70 or so of us that were there easily. Great food. Tasting steak and good sides. I did not have a Ceasar but heard they were top notch.
Our last visit to town we manage to gather the whole family (11 of us in total) to celebrate my early birthday. This was my their visit and always enjoying our visit here. I really like the interior, classic red leather for the couches & interior... good vibe, food and the service beside there is one guy who been working... more
Booked at the last minute for a business meeting. We were given a fairly quiet table and our waiter was extremely attentive to our needs. Two of us had the ribeye, while a third had the tenderloin kebabs. The steaks and kebabs were cooked to perfection and we all agreed they were the best we had ever tasted. The decor... more
probably some of the best steak i have had. Aged properly, cooked perfectly. Fantastic beer and wine menu. The only down side i would say is that for the price i would expect better sides, the twice baked potato was good but you dont really get any other greens or sides for $40-50 per plate i expected more.
If you are looking for great service with 70s sophistication , then this is the place. Yes, there are other steak places, but they are run of the mill. The keg, salt lik etc, all have the same server 'tart' or 'twit' trying to act intellectual while while flicking their hair to one side while they attempt to provide good... more
We enjoyed a very nice old time steak house meal at Caesars with professional mature servers and comfy leather seats in a somewhat 70's style decor. Caesars appeared to be a semi casual downtown location with plenty of business folk at the tables. Lots of Impark parking lots in the area.
Our server was a mature gent who knew his...

Where to start!! There is some good and some weird, nothing was really bad...
Price was exceptional! For 52$ tax in, I had a soup, salad, garlic bread and a 10 oz filet with holland aside and twice baked potato... And it was an exceptional piece of meat! I ordered it blue, and it was perfect, well aged, fabulous!! The...

If you are looking for some good AB beef this is the place for you. Starting with the cup of onion soup, to the garden salad, and the garlic bread (all of which are included with your entre) you will be treated to a great meal. Your steak will be grilled to perfection behind a glass viewing station. The service... more
When we lived in Calgary, this one was of my favourite places to take clients and friends. Intimate atmosphere, great steaks, good wines, professional service. I was never disappointed with any aspect. If you're looking for steak, this is the place!
A Calgary traditional steak house with excellent steaks and Caeser salads, but interior seems dated with heavy wood and red leather chairs in the bar, and no windows to let light in.
This place rules. There are Doric columns everywhere. I think they're made from plastic. The walls are covered with old Roman frescos. Some are Greek I think. But no one seems to notice. Why not? Because the steaks are amazing and you get loads of awesome stuff with them for free. And most of all, because there is a man... more
This is a small but incredible steak house. You can see your steak being grilled through a full length glass window. The wines are fabulous, the steak mouthwatering, the twice baked potatoes to die for and the broccoli perfectly al dente. The waiter made us feel like his best customers.
We went here with a group of 10 for dinner. The meals were reasonably priced for downtown Calgary (around $45 - $65 for a Apps+Steak ). The salad and bread were very disappointing. The salad seemed like it came from a pre made dole package and they just threw dressing on. Nothing other than shredded carrots and lettuce. French Onion... more
We had a great time at Caesar's. It's proper old school- think Berni Inn circa 1985!- but that added to its charm. Service was incredible, and food pretty much the same. Steak was fabulous, but the cheese and garlic bread and onion soup was exceptional. Overall a great experience!
I like the steak in Caesers. It was cooked on a barbecue and just right. Mu partner had a New York Strip coated in peppercorns that was a bit nicer than my NY Strip with Caeser's sauce. But the meals were let down by average accompaniments. The French Onion soup was a bit watery, the salad just diced bits and... more
If you look at the front of the place, next to a strip mall you think to yourself "average". Don't let it fool you. Reminiscent of days gone by (Mafioso, deep wood, etc), this is a meal that is hard to replicate. The restaurant is laid out to encourage conversation and it feels quiet and dignified even when they are... more
It was our 25 year Anniversary and we decided to go to Caesar's downtown Calgary. We hadn't been for a while, and we were glad we went. The decor hasn't changed since it's opening, but the Steak is still one of the best money can buy....
I'm sure we will return again on another special occation...

My husband & I arrived in Calgary for our Canadian Rockies tour only to find out that the tour had been cancelled due to the flooding which had started that day. After spending much time on the phone with our travel agent trying to get us and our friends flights home, we decided to go out for dinner. We went... more
My friend took me and my husband here during our recent visit to Calgary. From the street it looks like a cheap kebab place and the hallway inside would have made us go back outside again, so it's a good thing our friend had been several times and knew how amazing it was.
We had what I think was called...

This place never changes, literally I don't think they've updated the decor since the 70's. However, don't let that chase you away, the food is classic and excellent. The atmosphere makes me think I'm in the movie Goodfellas or in an episode of the Soprano's. I aways enjoy a meal here.
The only negative, our server seemed a little grumpy...

This was one of the best steaks I've ever had.
Service was good. Decor is an acquired taste - I'm sure Ancient Rome would have loved it!
Food is to die for.
Only downside was the screaming kids at the next table. Either move them or give me some earmuffs. Good news is their bedtime was before steak perfection arrived....

Stayed at the Westin and walked here. Old business but is so good. The steaks that we had were cooked prefect and no fat ! The stuffed potatoes were good . Higher price for the best . Average price of the meals 40
Just ignore the tacky dark, low ceilings and old mirrors, close your eyes and eat steak! You will then find yourself in steak heaven....... more
If you are into anything but steak, this is not the place for you. The atmosphere felt like 1970's porn movie. I think only Calgarians can find it "classy" or romantic, but I digress. The service was horrible and slow (possibly bc we were only 2 people, but the restaurant was pretty empty). We had to call another waiter twice... more
Had dinner with several business associates at Caesar's. Decor and ambience are very nice and elegant. Service is very good (slightly less than great, until I was able to get server to share opinion about wine, after which he became noticeably friendlier). Very nice albeit expensive wine list.

This is THE place for special occasions. Very classy décor. A real gem in Calgary, if not in all of Western Canada!
If you're in Calgary and you want a good steak.......this is the place.
Never been disappointed.
The south side Caesars has free parking but can be busy at times.
The downtown can be a parking problem depending on when you go. After 6.00 pm is probably easier but during the day (except Sundays) in can be difficult.
This place is definitely old school and needs an uplift !!! Overall I felt it was dingy and way to opulent in my opinion ..... As I have eaten steaks across the world and this place was recommended !!
Anyways I ordered a ribeye and was not impressed at all given the hype as the meat was dry as I...

This is a classic steak house - the masculine decor (and the waiters) haven't changed since it was built in the 70's - a place where men, meat and money met.
I was on business dinner with associates. This is rated by all present as the best steak place in Calgary and has been in business for as long as anyone could remember. The open pit grill was very nice. The staff was very helpful and courteous.
Went here for my Dads birthday. Food is absolutely amazing. Best streak ive had. Enjoyed the atmosphere as it has been re done. Waiter was so polite and knowledgeable. Will go again in a heart beat.
Went here with some work colleagues. We wanted to experience some real Alberta beef and Caesars did not disappoint.

I have been going to Caesar's for as long as I can remember, business and personal. It remains for me the best steakhouse I have ever been to. Out of all the steaks houses in Calgary, Caesar's is still the best steakhouse in Calgary. We have lived in Calgary for a long time and seen steakhouses come and go, but by far Caesar's remain the same. Good quality and services.
Good steak and trimmings. Lots of character. Very traditional and not modern. The steak is good. I had the ribeye and would recommend it to anyone. I really liked the French onion stupas well.
This is still one of the best places for steak that I have been. Meals come with cheese bread and potatoe, stuffed or baked. Fine aged Alberta Beef, this place is a legend among locals; I have never had a bad steak there; be sure never to order anything well done or even mediium; order rare or medium rare and you can practically cut the Medium Filet with a fork.
Best meal in the city by far!!! Service is warm, food is excellent!
This is the most highly overrated restaurant in Calgary. The food is uninspired, flat and very poorly presented, IT IS NOT THE BEST STEAK IN TOWN. The service was rude and inattentive. The decor and atmosphere are outdated.
This place knows how to cook a good steak...you pay for what you get...but it will be worth it in the end...the atmosphere is great and the servers are courteous... try it
We were in calgary on medical and came to this steak house which we were told about. when we came in we were very impressed as the atmosphere here was very warm and friendly. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. The cooks here really do no how to make a steak and we hope they get paid well for cooking as we never had a place that could make a steak to where u actually got what u asked for.... more
Very, very good food, I enjoyed it very much. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the menu is so expensive. A awesome place to go, if you can afford it.
mmmmmm had some of the best steaks i have tried and it came cooked just the way i wanted it. no bad things to say just go try it you wont be sorry
Very, very good food, I enjoyed it very much. The ambience was great and my steak was done the way I like it, "Medium Rare".

A little pricy, but if you want a special occasion dining spot,
this is it in Calgary.
This is the king of all calgary steak houses. They really know how to do it up right. However, they also know how to charge you for it. For a special occasion you can't go wrong.
I must say they are an outstanding place!!! I have never had a steak done that well. And the atmosphere was perfect.
ONE OF THE BEST STEAKHOUSES, ANYWHERE. PERIOD Quality Alberta steaks prepared superbly, great service and classic ambiance. Consistently.
I have eaten at many steak houses over the years, however I never had such a great steak in years. The ambiance is old and dark. the food is great and flavorful. I would be willing to suggest this restaurant to anyone.
