Devotion to the fresh bounty that is the Okanagan results in a neat mix of accessible dishes with exceptional ingredients, like 28-day aged Angus beef seasoned with their signature dry rub. Gluten-free options readily available. Not surprisingly, the wine list is heavy in local grapes, but the selection is thoughtful and the prices (Summerhill Ehrenfelser 2010 is $45) are dynamite. And in a... more
Worst. Dinner. Ever.
We waited 1h15min to get our food. We had our food because we threaten them to leave. Food was just disgusting. The Thai curry seemed to have been cooked 2 days ago, the rice (who can failed a meal, especially cooking rice???) was all packed and way too sticky/gooy. The burger was un-believable dry, buns were cold and it was missing bacon and grilled onions.
How can you...

Picked restaurant based on website menu, wine list & chef. All had changed so not a good start. Owner impressed me with going & getting the wine I had wanted at the LCB. Started w sharing appys all were very good. Scallops benny were outstanding with the calamari & baked brie very good. Out of a group of 6, 4 entrees were very much enjoyed (salmon salad, beef tenderloin, braised short rib,... more
Yummy appies that make your mouth water from the menu and taste even better. Great outdoor space for dining and socializing. 2 good group tables to seat 8. Loved the cocktail options.
Dinner for 4, service was quick and attentive. Good weekly specials. The veggies on one plate were cold , they fixed it promptly. Appetizers were delicious. A 3 piece band was playing a variety of classics. They have a nice patio that could be enjoyed in the warm weather .
We waited 1.5 hours with 3 very hungry kids and had to walk out before we were served our dinner. The service was awful and the one thing we did eat was even worse. They took 35 minutes to bring us a shrimp cocktail which ended up being luke warm boiled shrimp. I've never had a shrimp cocktail that wasn't chilled. This had zero seasoning and was pathetic.
We waited and told our server that we...

Pretty good night, rotisserie chicken was fantastic. Server was a little slow and preoccupied.
Very attractive with good location and underground parking. Lots of food choices as well as different liquors, wines and beers. Would recommend. We enjoyed it as we were longing for summer and the drive with the scenic surroundings made it worth the trip.
We had a reservation and actually visited the restaurant to choose our table. However, when we arrive our table was already taken and we received a table with a view of the doors to the kitchen. After an exchange with the manager we ended up with a very nice booth and a couple of drinks on the house (thank you). We started with a salad (chicken and kale) and the calamari (lime foam dip), both... more
Been multiple times the first few times we ate and drank, the food was not so good and ther service was even worse on the dining room side. Since have been in the lounge and had beers hard to go wrong, bartenders are friendly and the beer is cold. Only thing that is shocking is how little they are open they seem to tight up there schedule more and more as time goes on which can not be a good... more
The food, atmosphere and service were all great! I would definitely eat here again.
We tried Cabana last weekend for the first time. There were four of us so we ordered the bread/dips and the edamame for appetizers. The bread was un-toasted and all of us agreed that it seemed very strange. Serving cold ciabatta bread is very unappetizing and we didn't even finish it. The dips were really bad. The hummus was dry and bland with too much cumin, and the other two were also bland... more
Consistently medicore food, bad serbice, and take it or leave it ambience.
Had awesome drinks! The GSP and Mohito were so yummy and great prices- 5.50-7.50. Loved the calamari, risotto balls and peach pizza! Will go back.
Absolutely the best service I have ever had at a restaurant in my life and I have travelled AND worked in the service industry. The food was exquisite and light and modern, would go back any day.
We were really excited to come to Cabana tonight... I hate giving bad reviews, so this is going to be short. Don't get the fish tacos. They're bland. They're missing the mark on the citrus. As for the Caesar salad, the only unique and tasty part about it is the deep fried bacon. The pesto pizza is lacking as well. The food was sub par for the arranged price to say the least. Our server was... more
Made reservations on ^open table^ however upon arrival the place was very busy and they didn't have a space for us on the patio we didn't mind the wait, we were asked to sit at one if the sofas outside. The big chairs are a great idea but please clean them more often. They were pretty disgusting all stained and dirty.
Really nice looking place, food is horrible. Couldn't even finish the food.
Went there on a Sunday night for dinner a few weeks ago. Asked for chicken, they ran out?...Asked for pizza, the oven was broken. Big thumbs down. Some of the menu items have too too much thought into, for example, fruit in dishes fruit does not need to go in and the flavours just don't work. Won't be going back here again.
Terrible bright buffet. Very poor selection. Runny unpalatable scrabbled eggs. No toast, bread or juices. Had to pay $4 for toast ( that they barely toasted). No white or soudough. Have had better complimenty breakfast at the comfort in.
Made a reservation for our anniversary dinner, specifically requested dining room- put us in the lounge where 8 tv's were blasting the hockey game and the door to the smoke pit was left open to waft in during our meal. Steak was tough and overdone for what we asked for. Waitress was really good but disappeared for about 20 mins after we said no dessert and we had to ask for the bill when she... more
This might be my favourite restaurant in Kelowna for the sole reason that I can go in there with friends or my kids and still have the same experience.
The food is flavourful (although I still want the tropical tuna salad to come back on the menu), the menu has a range of choices & prices, their live music nights are good & not too loud and they have a good wine list. I find their service to...

Had steak, and had butter chicken. Butter chicken mediocre and overloaded with green peas. Steak overdone but veggies perfect. Blue cheese on top not even melted and was a very expensive add on, the mushrooms were good.
Sadly a poor experience. Sleazy atmosphere, loud 80s music in the loud. Rotisserie chicken was dry, butter chicken flavorful but very little sauce. I willing to bet our cocktails had less than 1 oz of liquor. Friday night and it was dead. One plus is the friendly staff. Both the hostess and waitress were nice. Sadly not enough - we won't be back.
Good food and friendly staff makes this a great choice for a patio in the Okanagan Mission area.
Last Saturday evening wife & I shared the 3 dip appie and then thin crust pizza for dinner.
Live entertainment playing in a very "Jack Johnson" kind of way.
My only negative comment was when the entertainers took a break, the canned music didn't match the genre and was VERY loud. It took a good...

After a jaw-droppingly poor experience which my partner reviewed we've returned for an early dinner after a local tasting. After one good and one terrible evening at Cabana we're back for the tie-breaker. In reading the other reviews I'm really unsure about some of the typical complaints; you'll get no argument from me about the service, the pricing or the portioning. Overall in my experience... more
My partner and I have dined here before despite warnings from friends that the food was overrated. For the record, it was quite good last time. This time it was quite awful. We purchased a twongo voucher and it clearly stated on the voucher that calling in advance was required. We did so and were quite frankly treated like cheap pariahs. The service was completely absent. The ten dollar cocktail... more
Great Food, Good Value! Check out the Lounge for a casual drink with great food, if you are in the dining room with a group ask for a booth!
The Menu changes with some spectacular seasonal dishes, also check out the reserve wine list, some amazing bottles.
I was very impressed with Cabana! My sister-in-law got married on Friday afternoon and we came to Cabana for the reception dinner. (It was a small wedding - about 20 people total.) The bride and groom had rented Cabana's private room for the occasion.
The restaurant and the room itself were quite lovely. I liked the sliding door and it was close to the bathrooms. The doors meant that the room...

much more could be said but much is to experience this place
The food isn't always consistent at Cabanas - when it first opened they had a great selection of steak and various jus and sauces to go with it, they were always cooked to perfection. The halibut was also my favourite and cooked perfectly.
"""Similar concept to Cactus Club, Milestones, Joeys, and Moxies, but with higher resort town prices."""
never disappoints - thanks for a consistant great food delivery and for being in Kelowna!
Cabana is similar to an Earls, Joeys or Moxies. The food, servers and atmosphere included. It's a fun place to go to, but the service has been extremely slow the past few times I've been in there....the most recent, it took the server 20 minutes to take our drink order. Something needs to change, quick, because this place has a lot of potential.
This is a happening place with a really good menu that is based on the rotisserie chickens constantly turning.
The big salads are very nice as well.
Hostess and serving staff were some the most beautiful women I have seen in that capacity.... not sure this is a criteria for anyone, but couldn't help noticing.
I expected more from this restaurant as it was getting such rave reviews. The service was just appalling. Slow and clueless. The food was barely average and considering the prices they were charging I was astonished. We went when they had a prix fixe set menu which came with a butternut squash soup. Its description sounded wonderful with great interesting flavors and nuances. I swear to god... more
Arrived for dinner an hour before our reservation, expecting to have some drinks at the bar before being seated. Surprisingly, we were seated right away, which was fabulous! A large projection TV was showing the Olympic games, which I expected, but there was also a live pianist performing in the dining room. He was good, but so loud that by the end of the evening, we were ready to leave just... more
a little too much like a family beach resort -- food deserved better attention
