Perfect comfort food! Shared Mac and cheese, French onion soup and a Caesar salad. All perfection, but you're gonna pay for it. I love their patio at the kits location, give them your number shop around and they will call you when your table is ready
One of my favourite places to eat in the city. Everything tastes like it has been made with love (and butter). Atmosphere is very cottagey and cozy. Great service always. Portions are ample.
Great: Basically everything (I've tried almost everything). My favourites are the gooey grillers and the french onion soup. The sandwich is made with french bread that is crispy on the outside (butter, I'm...

Great service and good food! Interior is warm & intimate. Will come back to try something heartier because I just got the quinoa salad and tomato soup. Both delicious but heard great things about the chicken pot pie!
This place is amazing. The food is consistently delicious and the staff are friendly and polite. It's cozy and the atmosphere is relaxing. The waiter was great too, he was confident in his job and he wasn't overly attentive which was nice. Didn't ask me if my meal was great mid chew which I appreciated! This place has been consistent with it's quality service and food. Love Burgoo!
Burgoo is just a dandy ol' spot. I've been to the location on 4th a few times and it never disappoints. Staff is always friendly, be it the host(ess), bartender, and wait staff. Everyone seems to go the extra mile for customers. For example, we were sitting at the bar once, waiting for our table and I mentioned to my friend "I wonder how much longer we have" and the bartender was on it--he just... more
Best comfort food in the city! Their sandwiches are always made on point and you can choose to pair it with a salad or soup (lunch special) their desserts are delicious too
This place tastes like the food was taken from a store and put in front of you. Novel, but the ingredients don't taste fresh. Go to Safeway nearby or Whole Foods and pick up your own ingredients. Even if you screw up trying to recreate Burgoo, it will still taste better than the store bought "icky" aftertaste from Burgoo. I went back several times just to test if it was just me that I had a... more
Came here for a Yelp meeting and I was really craving a delicious bowl of soup. This place is a fantastic place to get some grade-A comfort food!
The whole place feels incredibly cozy, and I love the spot that's a bit of a covered patio near the front of the restaurant. I ordered their soup of the day and a side caesar salad, and all was well in my world. The soup was so flavourful and rich...

Burgoo is definitely one of the best spots for brunch in Vancouver. Beautiful decor, excellent trendy atmosphere, perfect ambiance, kind stuff and unique food and delicious.
We ordered Kentucky Burgoo, Beef Bourguignon, Burgoo and Eggs. Beef Bourguignon is enough for two small appetite girls I would say.
In the past, I've really enjoyed my dining experiences at Burgoo. Admittedly, I've previously had a negative experience at their Main location, but I let it slip as it wasn't a big deal (they took a long time to serve us).
Anyways, my friends and I were celebrating the start of the Thanksgiving long weekend, and we were looking forward to indulging in comfort food in a nice, cozy environment....

Oh man, Burgoo. What can I say that hasn't already been said? I came here most recently with Alex G and Marje B for some tasty bites and sips and it was a blast!
The service was great, very attentive, and the food was amazing! I had the ratatouille, which I (in a fit of discipline) split in two and only ate half of. It was so rich and flavourful, with tasty cheese and breadcrumbs on top for...

On a cold, rainy Vancouver day, nothing is more comforting than a bowl of soup. So every time the weather changes to rain, I take that as an excuse to go to Burgoo.
Over the years, I've been to this restaurant several times. Their food has remained consistently good however I've noticed that their prices are starting to increase while the portions are decreasing in size. Their menu consist of...

I've heard nothing but good things about this place and since 3 of my fave things are served here (mac n cheese, grilled cheese and tomato soup) I had to give it a try! Overall I had a great experience.
We went for an early dinner so it wasn't busy at all and we were able to sit wherever we want. Service was quick and I ended up ordering the tomato soup and mac and cheese... no surprise there...

Love the Mac and More!!! Get it! I have only been twice. Got the Mac and more the first time and loved it, wanted to try something new the second time but had to get the Mac and cheese again!
I love Burgoo! I normally go to the Main Street location though I've been to the West 4th location a few times now. The service is consistently good. Servers are always attentive and very friendly.
I can't help but get the strawberry lemonade every time I go. It is so yummy and refreshing!
I'm a fan of their "After School Special" which consists of a sandwich and soup of your choice. My new...

I love Burgoo.
Bold statement yes, but backed by tremendous care in preparing some of the best comfort food around and some really great service.
I've been to the other locations (on Main street and also the one on 10th) and was curious to try out the Kits location. Upon entering, you already get a very cozy vibe from the place with it's rustic wood decor and dim lighting.
I've tried their...

Fantastic grilled cheese and tomato soup. Great place for comfort food, with an old bar style.
Absolutely wonderful! Best service, thank you Jonathan, wonderful food. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. If we were in town longer I would have gone back again.
Burgoo Bistro is a safe haven for my friends and I on 10th. We always get the nacho fuego as a starter. They have a really good caesar salad (or maybe I'm just a sucker for caesar salads) and the tastiest chicken hasn't failed to disappoint. Tomato soup is pretty killer too.
However, I think their brunch is even better. I always get the cinnamon bun french toast - super unhealthy but so...

I was disappointed with this restaurant.
The biggest problem was the wait. It took almost an hour to bring out 4 sandwiches--and the restaurant was not even half full.
Once the food arrived, it was not worth either the wait or the price. My pulled pork sandwich was small and bland, and the ceasar side salad was even worse, dry and sprinkled with bad cheese. I tried my friends diablo grilled...

You can't go wrong with Burgoo. Best on rainy days with grilled cheese and a tomato soup.
Falling in LOVE...
Whammy!! Grilled cheese and for their corn and free run chicken soup.
The Mac and cheese is to die for as well...
Ahoy brunch time!! Say hi! to the bacon Marmalade Biscuits.
Made with warm Cheddar and parsley biscuits.
And, and, and, served with (whammy) house prepared bacon marmalade.
A must try...Their Cinnamon Bun French Toast...
For 14 token you got battered and baked...

tl;dr - great food, mediocre service, tight seating, good value for price.
At our table, we had a few different dishes: salmon banh mi, grilled cheese, butter chicken, eggs ratatouille, steak potato eggs (?), and a bunch of the soups. All were very happy with the food.
Service was a bit cold and awkward, but very effectively followed a dine in restaurant script. We were given details on...

Went there with a group of friends recently. Vegan options were limited (but at least the server was very helpful) and I settled for the ratatouille. It was ok, but nothing to write home about, especially as I am French and I had my fair share of ratatouille in my life... The portions were generous, the prices pretty high but we had a good time anyway. I think people enjoy the comfort food side... more
I heard a lot about this place and was super excited to try it. I had the mac n cheese and I wasn't disappointed. Servers were very nice. I wasn't really blown away but it was a fantastic meal.
First time here, absolutely loved everything about it! Great atmosphere, delicious food and staff were tops. Couldn't have been a better night. :)
We came here on a hankering for Kentucky Burgoo. Typed 'Burgoo' into yelp and voila! This place is legit. We had grilled cheese (add tomato and bacon) and tomato soup... The combo is called after school special.. So tasty. Also ordered Kentucky Burgoo which was very delicious, a little thicker than I remember in Kentucky but we are awfully far away... GREAT flavor. Husband got Cuban sandwich... more
I went here on a brunch date. It's definitely the type of place you go to on a Saturday or Sunday when you're hung over and want coffee to keep coming. The food is some serious comfort food. There's a covered area at the front which is great if you want to feel outdoors in the rain. The rest is sort of dark and intimate. Food served in a skillet. Delish. The one caveat: this will be your next... more
FINALLY tried their mac & cheese. I definitely was missing out.
You know when you get that pit in your stomach that can only be filled with tasty stick-to-your-bones stew? Burgoo is the place to scratch that itch. Great comfort food and a warm atmosphere. Perfect when you need to warm up.
Great soups and sandwitches there. Totally priceworthy! Cool waiters and a very chill atmosphere.
I went here on Friday night. The food was really good! My server was super friendly. I had the salmon cakes and the spinach salad. The salmon cakes were good but pretty small.
The menu has a good selection but as a small eater, I was wary of most of the entrees since they sounded quite large. There were a few appys on the menu but I would have liked to see some more options for smaller...

Great location, great staff, cozy place and good food. I never had an amazing dish for lunch, but their dishes are usually good enough and I love the deserts.
My opinion:
- Macaroni & Cheese (good, but not very tasty)
- Beef Bourguignon (good, but I always order Homestyle Mashed Potatoes on the side)
- Banana bread pudding with dark chocolate (Amazing! This dessert always makes me return to...

Love Burgoo....I don't give a 5 star rating lightly, but would give Burgoo a 4.5 if I could. I like the Main Street location the best for the patio.
Service can be hit and miss, but mostly good. Food is heavy, yes. And delicious....great soups. Well, all the food is good, actually. They also have daily drink specials. Don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table!
Amazing comfort food menu. Love staff and atmos too. Wifi a must when dining alone. Thanks!!
Came here on a relatively sunny but cold afternoon to warm our tummies. We had the chicken corn soup with salad and the BBQ pork hash. Both were very delicious and filling. The prices are very reasonable and the bistro has a really cosy yet modern layout to it.
The restaurant does get busy and we waited for 30min for our table, but no regrets. Those 30 min were easily spent walking around in...

Great comfort foods of all kinds. Their chicken chowder and diablo grilled cheese are my absolute favourites here. Highly recommend for lunch on a cold, wet day in Vancouver!
Love this place! Fantastic food. Total comfort and fresh ingredients. Live jazz the night we went. Totally will come back. Beer to appies to dessert. Love every part.
I love this place! Amazing comfort food and service. I've always been happy with my experiences here. I highly recommend the Irish Stew and Beef Bourguignon. A bit pricy but I would say it's worth it since portions are big and they really do fill you up.
5 stars given for our idea of the complete package~Incredible service, the freshest most flavourful lunch, delicious house wine (on special), very kid friendly, all surrounded with a warm and comfortable atmosphere.

One of the better places in kits to get some well priced, tasty comfort food. I like mussels.
The sweet corn and chicken soup was absolutely delicious! My BF had the free run chicken sandwich which is also pretty good. The price was a little high but the food made up for it. The side order of Caesar salad was not too great and the portion was kind of small for $6.00.
I love most of the soups here. This is comfort food year round. Service is alright. Nothing amazing but usually adequate.
The restaurant is bit dark inside even on a bright sunny day. The patio section was full so I was seated at the back of the restaurant.
I had the Manhattan clam chowder recently. It was super loaded with clams, veggies, bacon and potato pieces. Also, there was a slight...
