I would first say that my experiance with Mr Chris Bridgeman has been not too bad. He can be hard to deal with at times but as a struggling business owner I am sure he has a lot of stress to deal with. As far as Mr Keen's comments that the appliance stores were recomending Bridgeman Plumbing, that is very hard to believe when all fireplace and appliance stores have their installers.
So it is always best to call chris for a quote but have it in writing.

Here’s my recent experience with Bridgeman.
In the summer of 2009 we looked into having gas installed at our home. Initially for a natural gas BBQ.
We contacted Terasen Gas who came out to our home to give us an estimate of the cost of installation. The cost of installation was much less than anticipated so we decided to install a hot water on demand system, a gas fireplace and a gas stove along with our gas BBQ..
During our appliance research we visited several gas appliance showrooms. We always asked who they’d recommend for the installation. Bridgman were always at the top of the list including at Sears.
Subsequently we contacted Bridgeman and one of their reps came out to our home to discuss what we wanted done. He looked at the job made some really useful suggestions all of which saved us money. Shortly thereafter the rep returned with a cost estimate and a time schedule for the proposed work to our home.
We wanted some time to think and shop and compare. The quote turned out to be very reasonable so we decided to go ahead.
The start date was to be in September after the gas company had installed the gas line and the meter.
In the interim Bridgeman supplied all the necessary information required by the gas company and advised us on the gas appliances we needed.
The start date was agreed upon and I was told the work would take two weeks to complete.
Before signing the contract I explained to their rep that they may not wanna take the job because I was incredibly difficult to deal with and was gonna be very fussy about the way the lines and the equipment were installed. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem.
They showed up on the agreed date all the work was completed within the estimated time. At each step of the way they consulted with me about the route of the lines and pipes and the way they were to be installed. Everything was done exactly how I wanted it done with a minimum of inconvenience to us.
Upon completion of the job I paid the balance owing which was to the penny what they quoted.
The day after the installation we had a 12 hour power outage. I called the rep directly, he showed up that day and reset the water heater for me. No charge. He also suggested I install an RV Battery with an inverter to avoid a repeat situation in the event of another power outage. Which in retrospect was really smart advice cos we have had several power outages since.
Subsequently about a month after the fact we had problems with the water heater. Bridgeman were most prompt in coming out to investigate. The net result is that we had numerous visits from Bridgeman at no cost to us. On several occasions the rep was there for the day trying to resolve the problem.
The net result. The company who manufactured and supplied the unit wanted to replace lotsa parts inside the unit to solve the problem. At no prompting from us, Chris at Bridgeman, went to bat for us and insisted they supply us with a complete new unit ( this is now 6 months after the fact ) and I suspect he ate the cost. He certainly ate the cost of all the visits and the installation of the new unit.
In all I have dealt with 5 tecs from Bridgeman at our home. All of which have had great attitudes and just wanted to make us happy.
I have also dealt with three other employees either in person or over the phone all of which bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of.
Would I recommend this company? You betcha life I would. The service was exemplary before during and after the fact. I’d give ‘em 10 outa 5 cos they went the extra mile for us..
Warning: Stay away from Bridgeman Plumbing & Gas Services
This guy (Chris Bridgeman) is a crook! When I needed a new water line to my house Chris Bridgeman came to my place and verbally quoted me $800 for the entire job. When I asked Mr. Bridgeman if he would put his quote in writing he refused saying that his word was his guarantee. I guess I should have known something was not right at that point. I asked that he only perform the work he quoted on and that any further work would have to be agreed too in writing by myself.
At the end of the job Mr. Bridgeman gave me a bill for $2500, over 300% higher than he quoted me. When I reminded Mr. Bridgeman that his quote was $800 not $2500 he responded by saying he never agreed to that.
At this point I had three more quotes on the job that Bridgeman Plumbing & Gas Services completed. The three quotes were $1200, $1400 and $1500.
When I told this to Mr. Bridgeman he dropped his price and re-invoiced me $2000 on the spot. I strongly recommend not using the services of Bridgeman Plumbing & Gas Services and if you do be sure to get a very detailed quote up front and in writing. Beware!
