I hadn't been to Brassaii since they had made renovations, and changed the feel altogether. I can honestly say its a great space to meet for drinks and chat. The 'club' part is really nice too, but the music was very mainstream- so as long as you're into that, it's a great night out!
I went to Brassaii last weekend for a friend's birthday, and after browsing the cocktail menu I decided to try something other than my usual Gin & Tonic. Talk about creativity!!! These bartenders are lighting things on fire, making drinks with ingredients I would never even think of! Among my favourites are the espresso martini called "Wake up in Venice", and the 'berry' delicious "Balsamic Bramble". But my new favourite drink (since I am a gin lover after all) would have to be "Not Your Average Joe", such a refreshing gin cocktail with cucumber and pepper in it.
A couple friends and I decided to check out Brassaii's Brunch that we had been hearing so much about. We shared a few items from the brunch menu to get a taste for it and wow, was it ever good!! We shared the Banana pancakes with apple and cinnamon compote (so fluffy and moist), their eggs benedict with their hollandaise sauce (amazing!) and their "Croque Monsieur" grilled sandwich with ham and guyere cheese. If that doesn't satisfy your appetite.... talk about options!! All of theses items were so well prepared, and came out in good time too! Add a few lemon creme pastries and some specialty Brassaii Mimosa's and we just found our new weekly Brunch location!!
Had dinner last night at Brassaii Bistro Lounge …The new executive Chef Bruce Woods has changed the entire dinner menu and it is FANTASTIC!!!
The Salmon Tartar is so flavourful…with an asian twist! I also had the miso black cod with mango salsa and wasabi mash. The miso melted in my mouth.
They also have a new cocktail menu created by their resident Mixologist… jordan. (make sure you ask if he can make your cocktail for you) – the balsamic bramble was yummy!!!
i will definitely come back to this place….

I chose to celebrate my 40th birthday at Brassaii with twenty of my closest friends. I booked the event with a very polite and poised hostess and chose to go with the very reasonable $45 prix fix dinner option. They sat me and my guests very quickly and without any problems or waiting. The table was set up in the very back which made the evening more intimate. The service was fast and the food was delicious. To top it all off, my best friend had called a few days prior and had requested their pastry chef make me a special chocolate cake for dessert. This cake was absolutely divine! It had chocolate truffle filling topped with a bittersweet chocolate butter cream and cocoa meringue. My entire party enjoyed themselves very much that evening and most importantly it made turning 40 just a tad bit easier.
This morning I decided to give Brassaii a try for breakfast because I heard their pastries were fabulous. When I walked in I immediately saw freshly made almond croissants which I could not resist. I decided to take a half dozen back with me to the office and they ended up being a huge hit. Without a doubt I will be a return customer.
Brassaii Bistro Lounge hosted a celebratory dinner for the cast and filmmakers from the movie “Up in the Air” at the Toronto International Film Festival. Including actors George Clooney, Jason Bateman, Vera Farmiga, Melanie Lynskey, Anna Kendrick and director Jason Reitman. Others that came for the after party were actors Bill Murray, Amanda Seyfried and Rachelle Lefevre. It was a very cool party and the food yummy..
Forget about the steel gates you have to walk through to get to Brassaii, or the cold, clammy minimalist interior - forget about all that. This restaurant knows how to do breakie. With an in-house bakery and a familiar menu that satisfies every craving, this bistro-style resto has the recipe for breakfast success.Upon entering the restaurant, I am greeted by a friendly waiter who is prompt. He... more
STOLEN ITEMS HERE! This happened Saturday night 3/9/19! My son's $250 jacket was stolen here, right in front of him, it was a regular female who had two men help her! My son asked the restaurant SECURITY for help and they DID NOT HELP HIM. They said she was a regular and he must be wrong. …
Nothing to write home about. Over priced for what it was, very cold inside as well and no ambiance other than a Christmas party going on for some company in the other room.
Very cold place Didn’t like my appetizer ( tomato tart)
I went for the nightlife and it was okay. It was decorated nicely but a bit small. Not that memorable to be honest, even though i went on my birthday.. we got bottle service but it was a bit dissapointing (how could bottles be disappointing?) It was cheap though thats for sure. I think there was 15 of us …
Overbooked and/or understaffed...main course took over an hour after apps, our group was 17 but they should have had an additional server helping out. Great ambiance, bottle service was seamless and well done, will give it a try again but disappointed first go-around
The service was fantastic and the drinks were very good. Food and food presentation was better then I thought being that I read other reviews. Overall great night. Wish I could remember my servers name but he was very attentive and spot on
Lovely ambiance. Good service. Only one other couple in the whole restaurant so it felt like a private venue! I did not enjoy the soup as it needed more flavour. It was served uniqely though but lukewarm. My sisters enjoyed their avocado and beet salads. I tried the beets and they were delicious. The gnocchi was fantastic and my sister and I both ordered it. My other sister ordered the lobster... more
atmosphere is great, food is great even thou it took 4ever to come out.
I've never had a worse experience at a restaurant before. I went to Brassaii for my birthday with 10 of my friends. we ordered our food at 10:15 and our food finally came out at 11:45 after asking the waiter several times what was taking so long. The food finally came and it was cold of course. I had ordered the flat iron steak and they brought me a filet mignon. I told the waiter that the... more
If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to celebrate my 30th birthday and Brassai single handedly ruined my birthday by serving my guests and I an hour and a half after we ordered. The food was cold the manager unapologetic. They brought me the wrong steak and when asked to get the correct one they told me there was no time to make another one for me because it was too late. It may have been... more
only one thing wrong --we were having a lovely quiet dinner for 3 when they pumped up the music about 10pm for no reason that I could see.
We waited more than 1 hour for our food. For the price for a meal, the wait time should not be that long. Perhaps they can hire more kitchen staff. Our waiter felt bad and offered us complimentary drinks and dessert but at the end we felt bad for him. Because we waited so long, our night had to be cut short as the next place we were planning to go after dinner cancelled our reservation since... more
We had a great time on a friday night dinner with friends. Our Server was amazing! Food was exceptional. Overall, I would recommend it to a friend.
The food, the atmosphere was on point. I loved how the restaurant turned into a bar with a dance floor after midnight!
the room was spacious for our event, and the food was delicious and nicely-presented
Omg the striploin steak was perfection I am impressed. We got a set course for a friend's birthday. Came with a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. Everything was good, drinks came out quickly too but the food took foreverrrrrr. We got our appetizers easily over an hour after ordering. Then the …
Ordered duck and was horrible, didn’t look good at all. Also ordered octopus salad and had one small piece of octopus and the rest potatoes. Not worth the price. Also bus boys would keep coming around to pick up plates that weren’t finish as yet.
Arrived a little early so restaurant had not actually opened but they opened early for us, sat us down a and got our drinks while they set everything up, service was excellent, waiter had a great sense of humor. Food was amazing, my wife had the lamb and I had the halibut, but were really, really good
Went to Brassaii for Le Brunch and was really underwhelmed. The brunch wasn't great and everyone of our 13 people where left wanting more. Whether it was the chicken and waffles being over battered with disappointing waffles, the lobster eggs benny with traces of lobster in the hollandaise vs …
We were going to a show so had an early reservation at 5:30, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Staff were excellent and very attentive. Our app and entrees were excellent and we were even treated to champagne by the server as it was our Anniversary. Highly recommend.
Can only speak to this place from a nightclub standpoint. Real nice looking place, came here for a party during Caribana. Drinks were a little cheaper here than at most places (around $10 for a drink). Place had a big crowd but not super huge. You basically had the outside which had vip couches and …
I had a birthday dinner with a friend and the service was bad and the food was not good. I’ve dined at Brassaii many times before and didn’t have any issues. This time around, however, the waiter didn’t do a stellar job and the food and drink was bad. I think the standards have gone down.
Music a bit much, and too loud for a Sunday brunch. The windows were dirty. Could have been cleaner. Food very good and service excellent.
So disappointed. Food was poor. My steak was a very poor cut. My nieces gnocchi was tough. It was not cheap and the food was terrible. Waiter was very nice and helpful. Never go back.
We had a great time vacationing in Toronto. Brassai was a recommendation to visit and a highlight of the trip. We loved our waiter, Z! Very intelligent about the food and great company.
Food was not prepared well. For example the pasta was undercooked and the ragu bolognese was terrible. We were not the only table asking for salt, we noticed. The duck dish had a tough meat and sitting in water that came from the accompanying endives. Service was friendly and attentive although the fellow smelled from freshly smoked cigarettes. This place is not cheap, it is not recommended.
The food and the dinner service were good. I was expecting more from DJ Danny D. He’s better on the radio. The crowd was also mostly female and the dancing space is small and tight. I wouldn’t return.
We enjoyed the kind and attentive service, however, beyond the pork belly bun appetizer (which was AMAZING!) everything else was just ok. Both our entrees (duck breast and veal chop) were overdone and a bit dry. To be fair, we did not raise this as an issue but feel if we had, they would have been more than happy to address. We consider ourselves foodies and enjoy a nice meal - while this... more
Although it was quiet, my food was amazing! Would definitely go again for the lobster. Most of the staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a very modern and aesthetic appeal to it.
Really good food and the atmosphere was nice around dinner time.
The food was nothing to call home about, the ambience was nice, but the service was a whole different level of poor. Our server wasn’t bad at his job: he was creepy and inappropriate, making comments alluding to the friend with whom I was dining and I “making out at the end of the night”, interrupting my friend as she tried to place her order to tell her that the appetizer she chose was not... more
overall we had a good experience. The one issue we had with dinner, is the wine choices we made, we were being told that they were out of it...and it happened with 3 wines. the bathrooms were dirty...you would need someone to stay on top of the cleanliness...because obviously ladies are gross we had a great time dancing...Dj DannyD rocked the house, and he was the draw for us to attend that... more
Great atmosphere amazing food service was excellent dessert to die for awesome music made my 10-year anniversary even better
It was amazing. All in one place to eat then dance on a Friday night.
Food is great I had the curried octopus and salmon. My girlfriend had beet salad and halibut. All courses were very well done. Service is good as well especially the hostess who offered to put us girls on the guest list so we can return back to the club at night without paying for the cover charge.
Service was efficient and pleasant. Food was good but nothing so great. The meat board is quite large so good option for a group. Please don’t order off the cocktail menu. Their signature drinks are weak and too ice heavy. The off menu dirty martini I ordered was excellent.
Yogurt parfait was excellent! When you’re charging me 10 dollars for two easy over eggs and they turn out hard. Not impressive for hat price. On top of that sever name came to check in to see how everything was. Overall I heard great things about the food and service at this restaurant so was excited to try it out. By the end I was quite disappointed in the food quality and service. Would... more
food was not great, had no flavor, paid more than it was worth, steak came rare and had to be sent back atmosphere was nice and drinks were good
Menu was good.. Except the crab bisque and octopus.. Didn't enjoy. Music was horrible.. We expected to stay all evening.. But couldn't take it. Also, waitress didn't advise us that tip was included and one couple tipped...he asked her to cancel transaction and redo.
Food was good. Very expensive for the portions. Needs more dinner options. The waiter took out food and drinks before we even finished with them. Didn’t ask us if we were done. But the atmosphere was good. And the waiter was friendly.
Service was good. Food was ok, a $22 brunch item should come with a side in terms of value. Not an overly memorable experience.
Great time out with friends- stayed late for DJ and dancing. Dinner was very good - had the spaghetti with shrimp and it was excellent. My friend had the veal and although I didn’t try it, it looked amazing and he raved about it all night. Only reason I didn’t give a 10 is that I was looking for a healthy salad option but everything was really full meals - but the meals were fantastic and very... more
Always a great time, especially for Mother’s Day. The restaurant was very accommodating and understanding as they held our reservation for an extra 30 minutes due to unforeseen circumstances.
Tried this restaurant for brunch on Mother’s Day with my husband and teenage daughters - we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, staff was friendly and informative and the service very good. This is a gem of a restaurant suitable for many occasions - from a night out with friends to a family brunch. There is a beautiful patio, a large indoor dining area as well as a private room... more
The food was spectacular! The servings are a little small for the price, however the presentation of the food was great! I have a GF and DF allergy and the staff is very accommodating. The manager served our food herself to ensure me that my dishes were safe for me to eat. If you are coming here, and want to eat well and have a couple of drinks, expect to pay upwards of $100. If you get... more
The halibut was great and the veal chop was a nice big portion. Thought the waffle chips and mushroom cheese sauce was a nice presentation.
Came in on a Wednesday at 7:45pm for a dinner date and the place was nearly empty. We had a fantastic dinner. Food was well seasoned and cooked perfectly especially the grilled octopus. Tender and delicious. Don’t just think of this place as a bar or nightclub. Only the wine list needs a bit of updating: no vintage selections
Their prices change as the night progresses. I had white wine, which was $13.56 at 12 am. At 1 am, the price suddenly became $16.00. I ask the bartender for the itemized receipt, she says her printer is broken and won't print. The first girl that served me, comes and says "I was giving it to you cheaper because it was the bottom of the bottle, I was supposed to charge you more." The first 2... more
My friends and I held birthday party here . Our waiter was Boris , I haven't had excellent service like that in so long . The food was amazing and Boris cater to everything that we need . He came over and gave us complimentary... more
We decided on Brassaii a few weeks ago as the spot to celebrate my birthday. We made a reservation for 20, at that time we where told we needed to have a set menu. Buyer beware, when ordering a steak from the set menu do not expect it to be cooked to your liking. The service was a tad slow, for example 10 minutes elapsed before a guest was served his beer. The area where we where seated was... more

I was out with some friends last night and stumbled upon Brassaii tucked nicely just off of King St W. We werent really sure what we were looking for but when we got into the restaurant there was a Jazz band playing at the front of the lounge. They were amazing!! I heard about the new menu at Brassaii and it was fantastic. We started with cocktails from the list and had the Lemon Meringue martini and the bad moon rising. (both were to die for!!!) We ended up only choosing items from the appetizer section - and had a bit of everything...Katafi wrapped shrimp, salmon tartar and the Nova Scotia lobster cake. A colleague and I walked in for lunch and ordered the Triple S which we both thought was fantastic. The Triple S is a $9 food combination of soup, salad and a sandwich. The service was friendly, fast and the venue was filled with charm and good taste. I will be sure to keep this gemstone in mind the next time I have a business lunch or dinner to reserve.

I used to work in the kitchen . When I left the place was being re-vamped by David Adjey. Building use to be a leather sweat-shop and its beautiful on the inside. Alot of private partiesreceptions are held here. Food as far as I remember was near-perfection and pricey upper-class stuff like Fois Gras and desserts that are impossible to resist. Try the apple crumble. Wide selection of wines.... more
I had my birthday dinner at Brassaii and it was one of the worst experiences in recent memory. From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us with her constipated face. My sister and I made a reservation a week in advance yet she squeezed us into a table with couples on both sides, even though the whole place was wide open. After we waited almost half an hour, I had almost mistaken Brassaii... more
