Amazing place... worth a detour
August 03, 2014Such a surprise to find a small-town café with big-city sophistication. Wholesome handmade foods with many gluten-free and vegan options, all served with local beer wine, cider and fair-trade coffees. This place is an honest-to-god treasure!

Great healthy food
August 01, 2014If you're trying to avoid the typical fast food joints then this eatery is def worth a visit. Good home baking & sandwiches like your mom used to make. It's a short 5 min drive from HWY 5 & 97c & worth the effort. We will be back.

A Little Gem

Finally found a great coffee and snack stop in Merritt
June 19, 2014Delicious snacks, lots of great gluten-free options. Really good coffee, breads and baked goods, sandwiches etc. Definitely worth the few extra minutes off the highway this is now our go-to enroute from the lower mainland to Kelowna or Kamloops. Thank you Brambles!!

Marvelous small town cafe with yummy baked goods
June 11, 2014There really isn't much to recommend Merritt since the big music festival faded away unless you are as much of a grasslands semi-arid desert fan like me. Amazing food on the Vancouver - Calgary road trip
June 05, 2014We found this gem by accident. Took a walk on the Main Street to stretch our legs and came in for a coffee. Stayed for the wonderful red pepper and chipotle soup. Took a loaf of multigrain bread with us when we left. We will be back!!!!

What a gem

We were passing by Merritt on our way home from the interior.
Wanting something different than Starbucks near the gas station, we decided to try a local coffee shop, and we found this place via internet.
The street was pretty quiet in the middle of the day, but the place was busy with constant customers, locals and passersby like us....

May 25, 2014We stopped in for lunch on our way through Merrit. It looked nice and the baked goods looked good. The service was really slow. It took 30 mins plus to get our soup and sandwich and the order was not correct. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, but the borscht wasn't great.

Will stop here every time I'm traveling thru

Good food. Very slow service
September 15, 2013Jambalaya soup was great, the half sandwich that came with it was quite small but still very tasty. Free tap water, nice atmosphere and decor. The locals obviously know that it's good and come in by the droves. A good variety of sweets. Just let down by limited cashier space which means a long wait.

The town of Merritt, which is famous for the Merritt country music festival, but not famous for cool, interesting, 'found' food places, has one little amazing find, Brambles Bakery & Cafe. If you need a pit stop as you travel through British Columbia's interior region make it this place.

Best Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Good, pricey
February 11, 2013Stopped in on our way over the Colquihalla for a quick bite to eat. Nice little cafe with good atmosphere. We had sandwiches which were very tasty and made with good quality ingredients although at $9 each for two slices of bread with a filling I thought was a little pricey, but I'd probably go back.

There should be a large blackboard up on the highway advertising this place the food is amazing. My husband is addicted to the Sticky Buns,not to mention the BrambleBerry Scones while I love the Asiago Cheese Scones. I discovered this jewel about 2 years ago and I never pass through Merritt without stopping any more. The staff and owners are among the friendliest I have encountered while travelling around the province and that is about 60% of my working time.
