It's a great store to find herb and spices in bulk, not sure how fresh they are but the items are still usable . The prices are higher then they should be for most items- for example a small bottle of apple cider vinegar is about $6 or $7. At the Nutrition House the same bottle is 5 dollars , which is average. The essential oils are also priced higher
The staff are helpful but a little strange,...

I live relatively close to this store and have had terrible experiences in the past but thought I would give it a shot yesterday. Same as last time, staff was not very 'welcoming' or helpful and their prices are quite high. For example I bough safflower oil there for $12.99 and happened to need something at Safeway so peeked at the price of safflower oil there, for the exact same bottle it was... more
Bought some products today including a cereal for my celeac brother-in law.
When I got home, I realized it actually contained some wheat products (this was my fault, I hadn't checked closely enough). When I went to take it back, I was actually hoping to exchange it for a true gluten-free cereal, I was told I "couldn't return things on a Saturday". This was only 2 hours after I had purchased...

Yes the staff are slightly off, yes the store is laid out poorly...but if you look you will find amazing dried herbs and spices and even loose teas. All for a very good price. I always find some kooky epicurean treasure here and tend to pop in before a big cooking or baking spree.
Extensive selection of vitamins and all that also.
Worth a poke around.
I went looking for a specific item, which they were out of, and proceeded to tell me they could not get it from their supplier anymore. I never really like that line especially for a popular product. Surely a store of this size would deal with more than one supplier. If a product is super popular, and it was my business, I would be tracking down the supplier.
I spent quite a bit of time...

A good selection of health foods & supplements, fair prices, crazy help. Seriously, the last time I went there, one of the ladies working there was super aggro. She had such a bad attitude that I am going to avoid the place for a while until I get the bad taste out of my mouth. Bowness Health foods is just a few blocks from my house, so it's very convenient, but getting harassed by the worker... more
I went into Bowness Health looking for some lecithin. The store is huge. I browsed around looking at the vitamins and supplements they carry, which are all pretty standard. They don't carry my favorite brands though. After a while of me searching around, a woman asked me if I needed help and I told her what I was looking for. I was saying it wrong, so she just stared at me. So I spelt it and... more
