I recommend not going to this restaurant at all. The food is over priced and The owner is very sneaky. I highly recommend Korean village as the experience is totally opposite and the owners at Korean village gives great portion of food.
Basically as a Korean restaurant, as a traditional courtesy side dishes are free. Even when you want a second round most owners would give it to you for free...

Best of the best korean food!! Tofu is amazing. LA ribs so juicy and flavorful. Pork simply amazing if you like a bit of spice. Every dish will make your mouth water. Been going here for over 16 years now! No other korean bbq can beat it in the city. Service has always been wonderful. This place is well worth every dollar.
Good food and reasonable prices. They have a very nice lunch special for under 12 which u highly recommend (excellent portion size). The restaurant it's is small so beware if you are a large group.
I have tried their bbq meats which was good - hoping to try the soups next time. Either way I'm sure you can't go wrong
Came on a whim because the bf and i were looking for somewhere close to home that served viet. The restaurant is small and apparantly has bad heating because space heaters were pulled out making the space even more cramped.
Being that this is a mainly korean restaurant I opted for trying out the beef Bulgogi and was very glad i did! Very large portion that i couldnt finish myself and ended up...

Best Family Korean BBQ in Calgary, been going here for years. Ambiance is simple but it gives it a bit of Character! the Short Rib Bulgogi and the Tofu are what keeps me coming back. Only thing is don't go out in public after you eat here, you will definitely smell like the food! My wife leaves her jacket in the car everytime LOL
If I were to rate this place just on the bulgogi it would be a solid 5 stars. If I were to only rate on everything else, it would be a solid three. So I arrive right in the middle.
The beef bulgogi was AMAZING. It was tender, flavourful and an absolute delight in every bite. My husband ordered that I got the bi bim bop. I ended up piling some of beef into my lettuce wraps because it was just...

We were recommended to this place by an Asian friend, but we were disappointed overall.
The atmosphere is old and tight, but that wouldn't bother us if the food was memorable enough to bring us back. It was tasty, but we always compare the food to a favourite Korean restaurant in Edmonton, and this was not exciting to our tastes....

I came to the Bow Bulgogi House with some friends. We made a reservation beforehand, as we had read that the restaurant is quite small and can get pretty busy. When we arrived, the restaurant was full, and the very kind gentleman said it would be a few minutes to get our table ready. We ended up waiting 25 minutes before we were seated, which was annoying as we had made a reservation. When we... more
If you live around the area you should definitely try this place try the grilled pork can't go wrong.
Dumplings are unreal and the sauce that the chicken bulgogi is marinated in is delicious. Very flavorful.
First time eating here was delicious. I will be back for the beef bulgogi
I loved the dumplings in this place!!.. The spring rolls were good too.. And the rest of the food was not bad... I am not an expert in Korean food, but I think this place was ok... Also, the service was very friendly!!..
This place is hidden away off 17th Avenue, but well worth the trip to find it. Amazing authentic Korean food in a nice family setting. Wonderful service and the food is to die for!
The first time I visited Bow Bulgogi was when I had arranged a meeting with my cousin. It was reminiscent of one of those sit-downs you've seen from the Godfather, though I'm not Michael Corleone and we're not plotting the demise of the heads of major crime families.
The dining room at BB is cozy. I love places like this where you can just kick back and have a conversation, or clandestine...

This is totally my kinda place! Family business with great food and an authentic feeling to it. The price is very reasonable, the portions are big and they bring you plenty of side dishes like kimchi, dubu buchim (i.e. pan fried tofu), namul, etc.
It's a small place and it's quite busy so I suggest making a reservation if you're a big group. It's not a fancy place at all but the quality of...

Have enjoyed the food here for many years now. It's always good, never changes. The owners are very dear and sincere. The lunchtime special hasn't changed in all these years and we still love it. You are served a small homemade soup, delicious kimchi and a couple of other items, and the main dish is Korean style beef-ribs, chicken, spring-roll,... more
The resturant is in a strip mall, and parking is sketchy at best, but don't let that deter you. Do expect to wait, do expect to be seated closely to others, and do expect some delicious food prepared well and served hot. Family owned operation, everyone seems to work there.
I've been reading about Bow Bulgogi for years! Yes, years. Bad Yelper Wendy for not acting on that sooner. Thankfully, I had occasion to head and eat a bit earlier this year. All I can say is... loves for Bow Bulgogi!
If you've never eaten Korean, one of my favourite things about eating it in restaurants is that you automatically get a serving of things like kimchi and things to snack on. It's...

The Bulgogi dishes are great. Very tasty. The service is always friendly and correct. The decor is .... Well non existed but the food makes up for it.
I highly recommend this place.
Went here last night for the first time based on prior reviews. My wife and I were craving for some Korean food, specifically a seafood pancake. We had the pork bulgogi, Kim bop and seafood pancake and we were stuffed. We had to take most of the seafood pancake home. The pork bulgogi and Kim bop were great. The seafood pancake was ok. I'm used to thinner versions with more seafood, but overall... more
Every time we go to Bow Bulgogi House, the Service is terrific. The prices are great. The food is fantastic. Our last meal there consisted of dumplings, (which are deep fried, so not too healthy, but very tasty), as well as Chicken Bulgogi, Beef Bulgogi, and Balgabi ribs. Each is marinated in its own special flavour of sauce.

I had to check this place out as it literally is down the street from me and I read such great reviews on it.
I was underwhelmed by the decor and set-up of the restaurant. It was quite awkward and a bit uncomfortable as we sat right next to another table who could hear everything. Awwwwkkkkwwaaaarrrddd!
We ordered the Korean pancake and the Beef Bulgogi. We received the Korean side dishes to...

We have been going to this restaurant for years. We love the bulgogi but the real surprise and delight is the baked tofu. We always order extra and when we bring folks-even folks who say they don't like tofu- it's always a battle for the last piece! Call ahead and make a reservation. this place is popular.
Favorite place for Korean in calgary! Get a great home cooked authentic style Korean which is hard to come by. Good service. Consider reservations recommended as the restaurant is quite small.
I have been going here for years. The service is good and the food is great!
The decor is quite dated but the people are very nice and I have never had any bad food here.
The chicken and beef bulgogi are my favorites and they also have a great vegetarian dish with vegetables and a fried egg on rice...

I've tastes them all - and so far this is the best bulgogi in town still. We ordered beef and pork before and it's super yummy. If you like something hot, order their authentic Korean soup, but don't order their noodle soup - it would never compare to the Vietnamese ones :-)
We love getting Korean here. It is yummy and the service is fast and accommodating. However, we limit our visits because it is a bit pricey. We usually run a bill of about 60$ for two, including one beer each. But we keep coming back, the free tofu dish at the beginning of the meal is out of this world,... more
My friend brought me here and I have been bringing other friends here. Excellence service in a cozy restaurant. Meals served fast after ordered. The place is always packed at lunch. This is the only restaurant my kids will eat everything on the table. Thumbs up!
This place has one of the best values for lunch! You can get a chicken and short rib combo with soup, side salads, and a spring roll for $10. I love the flavours of Korean food and find that Bow Bulgogi House does a fantastic job. I only have had lunch here because of its amazing value and quick service. The dinner menu seems worth trying. I didn't know that I loved Korean food until tonight. We are in Calgary for a conference and went searching for some place interesting to eat for our last night. We didn't even know how to eat the bulgogi, but the waitress was... more
love this place. Great food great people always feels like im comforable with my friends and family out to dinner here. Try this place out!
The food is great though the prices are a bit high.
This place is a lot better than Seoul, but I still feel like there was something missing. I think my favourite is still that one in Banff, as unlikely as it is that there is a good Korean restaurant in Banff... Edmonton too has some really great places, but I think that the Korean food in Calgary is one of the only styles of food that is drastically behind Edmonton... maybe there is a smaller... more

It's quite different from the Korean food I'm used to in Vancouver, but was quite good none-the-less.

This is a small restaurant lacking decor. It wasn't that busy when we arrived for lunch around 1 pm on a weekday. I don't think it would be enjoyable on a busy or a cold day if you end up by the door.

One midweek day, a friend and I decided to walk here for dinner. That ended up being an excellent idea. I'd passed this place numerous times, either in a bus or a car. I had the beef Bulgogi, and it was both quite filling and really good.

Food was good and I would go there again. The reason for the three stars is:
1. Portion size is on the smaller side from what I am use to.
2. Wasn't as authentic like no Korean (barley) tea; served Chinese green tea and no cooking at the table.
3. Small and you leave smelling like the food you just ate.
4. Only had a choice of 4 side dishes and they really limit how much they give you per meal...

This place was recommended to me by a friend and I have been coming back for years. The food is delicious, especially the bbq beef ribs and chicken, and out of all the small side dishes, I like the beansprouts best! This is a small family business, be prepared with reservations.
Absolutely awesome Korean food..I recommend the beef bulgogi. I have been going there for years. However, they short change you on the sides when you get take out!
We drive in from Drumheller just to eat here. This family run restaurant is a hidden gem!!
Try, well just about anything, you'll like it. Mmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about the food right now.
Not many tables, so I would recommend reservations though
This has been my favorite Korean place for many years... love it.
This small korean restaurant serves pretty good, not great, korean barbecue; bulgogi and galbi. Side dishes are nice, and, among them, tofu is the best. This tofu with seasoned soy sause is maybe the best one you can get in Canada, at least. They serve the best bulgogi and galbi(rib) in Calgary, but they are bit sweeter and saltier than authentic ones you can get in Korea. They are quite busy... more
This is a wonderful little place for Korean food.
Get there early, because I hear the lineups can get long.
Their Korean BBQ is very tasty... and as mentioned, the Tofu Buchim is where it's at.
Great food. Friendly staff. Sometimes they give your reservation away. If you need a few more leaves of lettuce they charge TOO much.
Great food! But it's always so busy and it takes forever to get your food. I'd recommend ordering takeout 45 mins before you want to eat.
OK. Really? No one reviewed this place? After 4 months in Calgary, having just spent a year in LA (a zillion Korean restaurants), it's been a hard slog in Calgary. But Bow is a comforting place. Their eponymous item is fine, but the other things, like the noodle soup (not the Vietnamese ones they serve...what the?) are really good. Oh, their tofu buchim is excellent.

food is good, flavoury, (yet it's little too sweet for Koreans..it's westernized a little. LEss Sugar please!!!) Sloooowwwww service, friendly when it's slow, rude when it 's busy. Order Take-outs?
Their bulgogui /short ribs are always my all-time favors. Better to have reservation during busy hours!
Amazing food, you pay for the food not the location.
the service are not bad, the place is little bit small because is a family own restaurant, i like the weekdays lunch special it reasonable price.
Absolutely the smallest but best Korean BBQ place in Calgary. Good weekday lunch specials. Most evenings you will need to make a reservation.
Good and cheap. The lunch special is very good value. The dinner is good too. The chicken wing is just amazing if you can convince them to make it for you. Make sure to make reservation.
Lots of good beef to be had around town - as a matter of fact, it's a little surprising that there aren't more good Korean Barbeques here in Cowtown - but this one is better than most.
