How do they stay in business

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch at the Avenida Boston Pizza. He ordered a Great White North pizza with extra cheese and I had a Caesar salad with chicken. Everything about this place is horrible. Awful food, awful service, just bad. I rarely get what I ordered. I feel like all boston pizzas are going downhill but this one takes the cake. I decided to give it one more shot last Tuesday, my friend and I decided to order a cheese pizza, simple! Nope, it was under cooked and the cheese was just barely melted, gross.

Wow, worse than I expected...and I didn't expect much. Beer selection was horrible (typical of Canada) and on top of that they were out of the one beer that's barely drinkable. Wine selection was nearly as bad. The Caesar salad I ordered had gobs and gobs of dressing masking any hope of flavor. The Spicy Perogy pizza was just horrible. Horrible! Food arrive sporadically with all the kids meals arriving at least 10 minutes after the at adults. Pizza was cold and all of the sauces had a thick layer of film on them like they'd been sitting out all week. Gross! Servers were rude and incompetent, missed 2 of our food orders and then insisted we ordered something we didn't and asked us twice if we were sure we hadn't ordered it.... more

Rather eat at home

I order the pepperoni with extra cheese, could not even be sure there was extra on the pizza.
The next visit I tried the beef dip. It was just deli meat and not even as good as I get from safeway, the dip tasted like a package mix, not worth the price I paid.
Will not be a return customer!!

Fresh Salad but Pizza Needs Improvement

I had the small pepperoni pizza and the cheese, pepperoni and sauce was spotty. For example some portions of the pizza had no sauce and other sections had too much sauce. messy almost dirty

The great Chinese next door was slammed so decided to do pizza.....big mistake....hostess was slow and confused......table service not great but okay......tables around us left dirty....food arrived in okay time but a simple pepperoni pizza with extra cheese shouldn't be that hard to get right......no extra cheese...sauce still tastes like a bland Chef Borardi tinned spaghetti sauce....no real... more

Good for a Family Pit Stop

Went here on a Friday night we were welcomed nicely we went to a table by the hockey game that was on tv. Our drinks came decently not fouintain problems or anything. Mediocre

The latest feature meal is the pizza burger. Bleh. Burger meat is folded inside pizza pastry. The meat was cooked well done then the cooking time must have been doubled - it was so well done it was like a hockey puck. There was supposed to be pizza sauce and pepperoni inside, but I didn't find more than a tablespoon... more

Not worth the money

Be sure to stick to what's included in the kids meal. All the "Fun" drinks in colour on the kids menu come at an extra charge of about $3/drink, same goes for the desserts. The ones that are included are lame, or you can upgrade for $3-4 extra and get the fancy ones your kids point to on the menu.... more

Calgary Boston Pizza Review

We went at 11 because we had to catch a flight and would have no other time to eat lunch. The menu is massive and its easy to tell nothing is made in house. A family favourite

We were visiting family in Calgary and took them out for dinner at thier favourite restaurant, Boston Pizza. Like other Boston Pizza restaurants we have visited across western Canada the food and service was as expected, tasty and filling!

Great family meal

Had extended family over at this bp during visit to calgary, great server set up large group seating quickly and took great care of us

We've dined here several times. The pizza is OK but inconsistent; sometimes it's really good, but sometimes it's just downright bad. It's often cold in the middle, but if you ask them to cook it a bit longer it comes out totally burnt and dry.

They do have really good specials in the lounge, though.

It's a Boston pizza. They offer Tues pasta night $9.99. We were there this past Tues and the server was great (though it was later, she was still very engaging and came by to check on us). Located on the North end of Avenida mall, it has ample parking out front.

Boston Pizza food is pretty much the same wherever you go (which should be a compliment to their consistency). I love pasta so every once in a while I'm like, man I need to hit up BP's on a Tuesday. Their pomodoro sauce is my favourite, mmm.

This particular location is always tons of fun with awesome servers. Everything looks brand new and it's a good place to spend a few hours watching sports.

This location is pretty consistent with other BPs in the city. Decent food, lots of parking, and steady pricing.

This is my fave Boston Pizza! Everyone is so friendly, servers are warm and efficient and the food is exactly what you can expect from any other Boston Pizza. It's a great place to hang out with some friends and watch football or hockey. I think they have Centre Ice too for all you hockey fans.

This used to be the only BP's in the area a decade ago. They've done some upgrades over the years but the place still shows it's age. Never had a bad experience here. The staff are always competent and the food is standard.
