This East Van institution-with its battered booths, frayed carpets, and poster-plastered yellow walls-is always full, serving its famous all-day breakfast for less than you'll find in your couch cushions. Just $2.95 (the same price for 25 years) gets you a heaping helping of eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast, plus a front-row seat to serious people-watching-from Bon's motley crew of servers... more
First of all the All day breakfast for $2.95 is a great deal. Two eggs anyway you like, toast, potatoes, choice of bacon or sausage. I paid a little more to get the Fresh fruit instead of the meats. Good service. Healthy options too with egg white omelettes. Burgers, pancakes and the all the rest. Fun place to visit
I've been there many times. It's one of those places you have to try once when in Vancouver. It is not by any stretch of the imagination, fancy. It is a no nonsense quick in and out kind of place. It is grungy, but has a lot of charm. Actually, there isn't a word in the dictionary that can describe... more
we were treated to this gem of a restaurant about a week ago and really enjoyed it. the people that took us were worried that we wouldn't like it but what is not to like? it is an old place with posters on the wall and people writing on them and the walls, signing their names etc. there is a... more
Tip 1: If you do not own a car then prepare to catch the publich transport to this joint. Be warned that the public transports are really slow and always delayed during weekend.
Tip 2: What to order? Ok, definitely order the $2.99 meal deal. I highly recommend you to order only 1 pancake if you are not a big...

I liked the neighborhhod feel, the grafitti on the wall, the real food and people. Some in my party didn't think it was for tourists. Maybe so, but they were friendly and the $2.95 breakfast special was enough to let me skip lunch. Y
Can't beat the size and prize of breakfast special. I have tried other greasy spoons but for the price this is one of the best. We have been going for years.
Have gone there for several years, once or twice a week. Best low-priced breakfast in town. Very busy, wide variety of clientele. Breakfast time on weekends, sometimes on weekdays, will produce a line-up. Combination of booths and small tables.
Breakfast includes fried potatoes, two eggs, variety of toasts, the usual bacon/ham/sausage option, coffee for about 4.50. Service is good. Eggs...

This is not the Pan Pacific or Banff Springs Hotel breakfast for $30, but it is $2.99 for the breakfast special (add $1 for coffee and you are out the door for less than $5.00).
I usually have the eggs, brown toast, bacon with pan fried potatoes and a cup of coffee. When they are not busy, your coffee gets...

If you want to see the Commercial drive cool crowd, get a massive breakfast for super cheap... and you are not in a hurry, you should go at least once. Keep in mind that the rules are .. if you want a coffee refill, you help yourself and then pour for anyone else who holds up their cup... kinda fun... more
Probably the most popular breakfast place in East Vancouver. Cheap and funky. Some go to meet friends, others to watch people. And the price of breakfast includes unlimited coffee (unlike most places which advertise a cheap breakfast, then charge $2.50 extra for the coffee).
I have eaten at Bon's for years. I used to love the atmosphere and good reasonably priced home cooked food.Recently after a year away from Vancouver I brought some friends to "Bon's" for breakfast. Upon entering I noticed how run down and smelly it had become... We found a "dirty" table with food scraps, sticky jam, and who knows what else... more
Place is nice. The people are nice. The staff is nice and the owners of that place are cool. Everything is great about this place but the best is the low price and the amount of food you get. Good job. Thank you.
$2.99 Breakfeast was sooooooo good. Busy but great value. Interesting people. Lot's of food. $1.00 coffee. under $10 for 2.
Great place to have breakfast if you're on a budget. Nice pancakes, great atmosphere, always busy, come prepared to queue at the weekend. It is what your idea of a greasy spoon is. Hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict not great, but should have known better than to order eggs benedict in a greasy spoon.
....1. It is what all other 'Greasy Spoon' restaurants ought to aspire to.
2. It is so cheap, and you get a huge portion.
3. The quirky drawings and posters and you can write a message on the walls or posters, and no-one says a thing! Hilarious!
4. It is not fine dining, but the atmosphere is earthy, vibrant and...

Cheap, cheap, cheap and dingy, but this place is hoppin' busy so the grub is always fresh. An east van institution
can't believe we went here. it's like paying $2 for heartburn.
As much as we love it...it's still the "greasiest"!
2.95 for breakfast?! It's not quality, but it sure hits the spot when you're in the mood. The real fun is the atmosphere and people watching over a greasy meal!
GREAT breakfast place. cheap as hell for tons of food,,, and a singing cop that serves you coffee! plus tons of graffiti in the bathroom that you can entertain yourself with when youre on the can! what more can you ask for
i grew up going to this place as a kid since i lived only 2 blocks away. i can't believe it's turned into an "it" place. i honestly haven't been here in YEARS.
HELLZ YA GREASE MONKEY!
bon's serves it up, bit, greasy and cheap. Bon's is usually around with a smile and hot coffee .... for what it is, it dun't get better.
YUUUMMMYYY go hungry and go broke!! bons serve lots for cheap!
only thing wrong is that too many people hit it up, great greasy spoon , breakfast all day , some people suck but that is life , overall enjoyable , kick a$$ atmosphere
Best breakfast 2.99 will buy.
If "greasy spoon diner" food is your fare, this is the Ritz Carleton of diners. Quality is good, grease a'plenty, large portions, low price. Strongly recommended.
cheap. that's about all to say.
Only good for breakfast - extremely cheap with a long line up for breakfast.
You can stand outside...beg a few minutes for change...and have enough for a huge breakfast. Be prepared to stand in line.
Huge cheap yummee breakfasts!
for $2.95 you can have breaky all day...one of the best places in Van not just because it's cheap...on weekends get there early there is always a lineup...best times in a greasy spoon...and Bon the owner of the place is always glad to see new people he has a picture wall dedicated to people from around the world
