Alot of bath and cosmetic companies have opened in our fair city over the years but I have always had warm memories of The Body Shop since I was a little girl buying animal shaped character soaps. I like the idea of these specialty bath stores, but I don't shop here much. Everything looks and smells great, but so does cheaper stuff from the drug store. It's excellent for gifts, though.
The makeup is quite expensive..I bought a blush the other day and it was $15 for a tiny amount. I would rather throw in a little more money for a department store brand.
I have to admit, The Body Shop is great for buying something for my mom, aunties, or the lady friends. They have some very nice fragrances here and my nostrils are always treated to a medley of scents every-time I walk in here. I got hooked on The Body Shop because of the company's commitment to the environment and women's causes. The company has since sold to a larger cosmetics giant, so time will tell how this affects the merchandise and ideals. I haven't bought anything at The Body Shop, since I was in junior high, when it was all the rage. What brought me here today was a particular face wash that Paula Begoun recommended in her book. The face wash was $16, which is kind of expensive, but I am willing to pay this amount, because I have sensitive skin, and The Body Shop is supposed to use safer ingredients than other companies.
