My mother needed a pair of boots repaired so I took them to Bob's because his business is close by. I will echo what some posters have said: Bob's system is basic. Bring in item, your name marked on masking tape, verbal quote given and off you go.
Due to a machine break-down the boots weren't ready when I returned the first time. No biggie, stuff happens. Second visit, boots were found after a...

I love supporting local business but this is not acceptable.
(Review skimmers: take your time and business elsewhere. You will leave disappointed.)
I dropped off a pair of black flats to get an anti slip grip put in at the sole and the heel repaired. I was told to come back in 3 days.
I came back in four to have him tell me that the shoes aren't ready because the glue is still drying. Fine....

Shoddy work was done on my high heels. The sole wasn't flush with the heel and a black marker was used to cover scratches. I have to get them reworked somewhere else.
This is the second time I have dropped off shoes to get repaired and the shoes were not ready. I even picked them up a day or 2 after he told me to pick them up. He also can never find my shoes in the pile of c@!p he has all over his shop. I waited again, 10 minutes for him to find my shoes only to find out that they were not ready, just like the last time. I would absolutely not recommend this... more
Bob isn't my usual go-to repair place, but I was in the area and had a bag which needed some stitching.
The whole drop off process is quite loose, you give him the item to be repaired and he sticks a piece of masking tape on it with your first name and that is it. No claim tag, no firm price quote, just a tentative pick-up date. You definitely have to operate on trust.
Upon my return, I told...

I have been here a couple of times and both times he can't find my shoes or boots and they are not ready. First time small heels replaced for $12 next visit the heels on my boots where a bit larger and he charged me $20 and I felt ripped off. I wondered if it was because I was waiting for him to finish with a $20 bill in my hand which he just took and that was that. I won't go back here again... more
This man has always done good and timely work for me, I have relied on him for a number of years now. Thanks Bob!
I grew up at 22nd and Oak, and it's safe to say that Bob has been repairing my shoes for close to 2 decades. He does good work, from simple heal tap replacement to more complex sewing or resoling jobs, all for a reasonable price. Not much else to say here, really, except that without Bob my high-heeled sandals and cloth-soled Chinese slippers would have been retired a lot earlier than I would... more
I needed shoes repaired...just the heels (too much pounding the pavement in big cities!!) I drive past Oak and 16th Ave pretty much every day for work and saw this place and thought "hey why not?"
The friendliest little man took my shoes, wrote my name on masking tape, stuck it on the bottom of my shoes and told me "one week"!!'
I showed up in a week and was amazed at how he found my shoes on a...
